Eridanus sighed when he was finally done, but he realized that he still had two more focus parchments he had to place. And some way to dispose of the bodies without anyone finding out. Time was ticking on, and if he got caught inside the ship doing his thing while the rest of the crew came back he was pretty sure he was not going to survive fighting his way out. This had to be done as quickly as possible, and he next crept towards the kitchen.
He had counted five men when he was spying on the ship, and he knew that two were guarding outside while he had already neutralized two. This meant that there was one more somewhere around the ship and so he had to be careful with his movements. He made his way towards the kitchen, always taking note of where he was relative to the rest of the glyphs he had laid out painstakingly so that he could figure out the fastest way to connect them.
Suddenly, he heart footsteps and he ducked into another room, watching a shadow move pass as the remaining patrolling guard walked by. His heart pounding furiously in his chest, the ethaefal silently crept up behind the man, his hand reaching into his robes and gripping the bone handle of his dagger. When he got as close as he dared, he quickly stepped forward, plunging the dagger into the man's kidney just as before and pushing it deeper as the guard struggled, unable to give a cry of surprise due to Eri's hand covering his mouth.
Eri supported the body before it collapsed to the floor and flipped it around so that the wound faced upwards again, dragging the newly-made corpse to the room he was hiding in. He had no idea what the room was for, but he stashed the body away from the door making a mental note to return to dispose of it when he was done.
Tracing his steps back to the kitchen, he assessed the area before placing the third focus parchment underneath a huge sack of wheat that lay in the corner of the room. Like what he did with the barrels of ale, he made sure to put it underneath the sack closest to the wall, and that meant heavy lifting again as he struggled to move the sacks away so that he could put his parchment into position, then panting as he lugged the outer sacks back into position.
He was used to this repetitive procedure by now and his practised eyes scanned the area, taking into account of his position respective to the rest of the glyphs. He decided that it would be more convenient to connect this area to crew bunks instead of the captain's quarters as he did the previous two, and he began to alternate between carving path sigils on various hiding spots and placing the path parchments at regular intervals. Finally he reached the wall connecting the room he was in and the crew bunks and he etched a glyph on the wall close to the floor, quickly exiting the room and entering the room next to it to place a similar glyph on the same spot but on opposite sides of the wall, establishing the final connection.
