28th Day of Winter, 511AV

Noon was approaching the city of Denval, Syna’s golden orb hanging in the skies. Golden rays spread warmth over the buildings and paths below. However, Winter fought the warmth, pushing it back with a chill breeze.

At the Citrine Center, Alana Kaye was placing a dog into one of the kennels. One of its legs had a splint on it, carefully attached by Haxo Aletta. She gave the poor animal a quick stroke before closing the door behind her and returning to the working room. Haxo had left already, which meant Alana had to finish scrubbing down. Not that she minded, the Center was her home and work and she loved every aspect of it.

She grabbed some cloths, soaking them quickly in the liquid that was used to clean the surfaces. She wiped over the main table before moving onto the side counters. The cloths then went into a bucket to go for washing themselves. Various bits of used equipment went into the sink and Alana scrubbed each tool before returning it to its correct place in the room.

When it was all done, Alana headed out to the reception room. She sat down behind the only table and proceeded to update the patient log book, carefully noting down the details and care instructions of their new canine resident.

[Citrine Center] There's Always Another (Caelum/Open)

The muscled tom cat was ugly as sin but with eyes the color of the sun. It was most likely that, that precious, tarnished color so reminiscent of the fall of Syna's hair that had Caelum risking his face for the furball.

Fortune smiled upon him for once and saved his face from being mauled when he caught the hissing, stinking creature. It had no concern for his hands, however, leaving them criss-crossed with bloody scratches and at least one particularly fiesty bite across the jut of his knuckle. The bleeding kitty yowled in continued protest when Caelum shoved him unceremoniously into a canvas gathering sack and was, at present, literally vibrating with fury.

"Help," Caelum announced once shouldering his way into the Citrine Center. It was not only closer than the Opal Clinic where he maintained lodging and work since his arrival, but he hoped also the Citrine Center would have someone, anyone really, to help him with this cat he had privately decided was a demon straight out Hai.

"Hullo," he kept on, sliding to a halt before the desk and the bowed, golden head of the young woman seated behind it. A slowly building growl threatened from the sack clutched to his chest and a hint of desperation crept into the corners of Caelum's unearthly accent.

"I need some help with this hell cat, please," he continued while the daylight threw his shadow horned and overlong across the wall. What had driven him to aid the unhappy kitty? What in the name of all that was holy --- Oh, oh, yes. The winged serpents glittering across the back of his right hand, stamping him clearly as belonged by Rak'keli as well as Syna.

That of the other goddess was hidden by his clothing.

He quite on purpose refused to think of another cat in another city in another time. Surely that could have nothing to do with his sudden spurt of charity.
