68th of fall 511th

Danck absentmindedly pulled a bit on one of the many bright white bandages wrapped around his body. Trying to put the urge to scratch the itchy spots beneath the bandages, fearing that he would screw up the healing burns. He already knew that they would develop into nasty scars without him scratching open the tender new skin. He shoved his hands in his pockets and balled them into fists and let his gaze wander over the rest of the street, trying to find something to get his mind of that damn itching feeling underneath his bandages.

Letting out a loud string of curses as his mind constantly drifted towards the very thing he wanted to forget, before making way towards the bar, he still had a little bit of coin he could spend on something that could make him forget about that damnable itch for a while. As he turned on his heel towards the bar, he felt a little bit of relief that it was only that highly annoying itch. He really didn't want to walk around when his burns felt as if they where once again on fire.

Nil’Anon crouched in the shadows of the alleyway, her slender child-like figure hugging the wall of the building that created her shadowy hiding spot. Green eyes peered out at the persons passing by the mouth of the alley. She was on a mission, a mission to scrounge up some food, or she was until she heard a light jingling sound coming from a person that walked by. The man was fidgeting with some bandages that were wrapped around various body parts, tugging lightly at them. Nil watched as the man shoved his hands into his pockets and moved along. The jingling was coming from him, it was a pretty sound. Entrancing, she wanted what was making the jingling sound, likely some coin in his pocket. Nil’Anon rose from where she was crouched and slunk around the corner of the building, following behind the man as he made his way down the street. Her eyes were focused on his clothing, his body, trying to locate the origin of the sound that had captured her animalistic attention. She wanted to play with it, if she had been in her feline form, her ears and tail would have been twitching excitedly and she probably would have been stalking him far more effectively than she was in her human form. As it was, she was struggling to stay close to the walls of the buildings and to move for any sort of cover that she could use to hide behind, a set of stairs here, or a pile of boxes there. She would scamper along the street next to the buildings, crouching next to stoops, her head poking up over the sides of them to peer at the man. Once he was far enough ahead, Nil would move to the next set of stairs, or to a pile of trash or boxes and crouch behind those.

A chance encounter(nil)

For the first few moments after the little girl began stalking him danck was blisffully unaware of her. His mind set on trying to figure out how much alcohol he could scam out of others before he had to pay up from his own scarce supply of money and not really thinking to keep an eye on his surroundings, and he just continued to walk through the alleyway. Until his ears picked up the sound of a foot splashing in a pool of water, causing danck to pause for a single moment and looking behind him towards the seemingly empty alley. He narrowed his eyes in suspicion for a few moments letting his gaze slowly go over the alleyway in the hopes he would see anything. When he caught a glimpse of a small figure quickly pulling itself back behind the small pile of boxes the child was hiding behind dancks face softened a bit, though the child probably wouldn't be able to see it from this distance.

“Well, probably was my imagination.” Danck seemingly muttered to himself, loud enough for the child to hear it without to many trouble and once again turned around. Really hoping that the little child would fall for his little sceme and just carry on with her attempt to rob him. He doubted the little kid would thrust him if he called him or her out and would just make a run for it, while he just wanted to help the kid as far as he was able. Like pointing out that trying to pick the pockets of somebody in a lone alley when he had a dagger in plain vieuw wasn't really the best of ideas.

Nil froze as her foot fell in small puddle of water, giving off a soft splashing sound that was sure to give her position away. The Kelvic dove for the nearest cover in an attempt to hide herself. If she were in her feline form, she would be much better at this stalking thing. As it was, she was forced to take cover behind a pile of boxes. Her head stuck out around the side of the boxes to see if she had been noticed, just a quick glance before she ducked back into her hiding place again. It took only a few moments for the man to shrug off the noise she had made and turn back to his walking, announcing rather loudly that he must have been imagining things. Nil watched him, hesitating before she finally began to follow him again. She didn’t want to risk getting caught again, so she felt the need to go ahead and make a snatch at his jingling toys, well, what she considered toys.

The girl made her move, dashing towards Danck’s side, the one the jingling was coming from. Her arm rose and she reached for anything that was attached to his belt that looked easy to remove and might be making the jingling sound. It was a clumsy effort at theft on her part, though she did push her body against his, in an unconscious effort to throw him off balance.

A chance encounter(nil)

Danck continued to walk for a few moments focusing most of his attention to try and hear anything that would tip him off if the little girl had fallen for his little deception. A small smile crept on his features as he heard the soft sounds of feetsteps quickly coming closer towards him, the scarring on his face stretching the small smile into an unappealing sight. As soon as he thought the footsteps where close enough he quickly turned himself around and stretched out his arms to try and grab the little girl by the arms. Trying not to be to rough and hurt her accidentally.

He didn't really have any trouble with the little girl's attempted body slam, he was a lot heavier and larger then her so her little impact would only have thrown him of balance if he wasn't expecting her to run into him. Or hadn't been preparing to catch the little girl anyway.
As soon as danck thought he had a good enough grip on the little girl so she couldn't run away he gave her a hesitant smile, forgetting about the burns on his face that made it look a lot less comforting then he thought it would be.
“That isn't a very smart thing to do little girl. Stealing from armed people when your alone usually isn't smart at all.”
