Tara stayed with her back pressed against the wall. She had nearly forgotten about the pouch, and she had given up all hopes of getting away with it. The svefra did have a point, the pouch did not have much in it and the consequences they may have to face if the knights found them were harsh. Either way, things had escalated to a point that Tara did not expect and she was not prepared. The kelvic took a small amount of pity on the svefra, who had won the upper hand in her brawl with the cloaked man. She looked up to her, in a way. Tara was not very good at putting her pride aside even at the price of her life.
”I don’t know how things ended up the way they did” Tara said carefully, eyeing the svefra and the man in black. She longed to run like hell and come back for her belongings later, but that was not a good idea. She would most likely lose her things and her mizas which was not a price she was willing to pay. ”I don’t know why you decided to step in either” she continued, her eyes focusing on the man. She needed to get him to leave, as the svefra alone would be easy to walk away from. She knew the position they had gotten themselves in and probably wanted the same thing as Tara – to walk away from this as if it hadn’t happened.
”But I think we all need to just walk away from this” she finished. Her eyes were cold and persuasive, and they looked straight at the man while she spoke. She had gotten closer to the two as she was talking, as they were opposite the brick she had hidden everything behind. The closer she was to them the quicker she could get away. Tara really hoped that she could reason with the man. She felt deep regret rising in her throat. If she had known that this would happen Tara would have picked another person to steal from.
