Lyratai Basic Information Race: Ghost (Formerly Konti) Birthday & Age: Season of Winter, Day 20, 492 AV, (Age 19) Gender: Female Physical Description There is not much to say for Lyratai’s current appearance, as she usually appears as a mist, or a blurry looking pale woman. Very rarely does she bother to look solid, and when she does she appears as a Konti woman of delicate but intense features and a slim build. Her only remarkable feature is that she is slightly tall for her race, but still short for others. Even death does not hide the tell-tale scales or webbed hands and those who see this form usually can tell what race she was before death. Character Concept Lyratai, as a ghost, is driven to extreme rage and vengeance, but these impulses must be tempered by caution else she will be cast into the Void or worse. Luckily for her, her longer 'life' span will help her bide her time until she can safely destroy those she believes are deserving of death. Her malice is also balanced by concern for others of her race, as she is willing to go to great lengths to protect her own, even if they would not do the same for her. No amount of good will to her kin can change the fact that she is still a ghost, a being that is sustained by rage and she is likely to slip further and further into violent deeds to appease her hatred. Of course, such behavior might not be immediately apparent as she at first would often seem flippant or even mirthful at times. History Lyratai's History : Lyratai was an Konti slave, used by the Eypharian merchant Takasri who is one of the Gilded of Ahnatep. Lyratai has no memory of her homeland, being raised entirely by her master as her mother died when Lyratai was very young. Lyratai was so young that she cannot remember if her mother gave her a name or not. Lyratai cannot remember the fate of her mother, but Lyratai suspects that she was discarded or sold. Lyratai learned to quickly obey or face punishment, and her master was a harsh one. Determined to get as much use out of the slave as possible, the slave was educated in singing to be useful when her gifts of fortune telling were not needed. She was given songbooks, and taught to read Common and a little of Arumenic so she would not need to be instructed all of the time. The daughter did not meet a better fate, for when the toll of the tumultuous emotions became too much the Konti slave became mad. As the slave could no longer obey orders, she was quickly put down by her master as she was now useless once it was clear that the madness would never be cured. The Konti slave was strangled after barely ever leaving the single room she was housed in. Lyratai became a ghost, seeking revenge not just upon Takasri, but all slavers. Lyratai cannot access her Konti powers in death, but she views the powers as a curse, not a blessing. They are what drove her to insanity and she believes that she is better off without it. She clings to undeath as she does not wish to return to life to once again be saddled with the 'curse' or other annoying fleshy concerns such as eating and drinking. Unlike other undead, she sees living as a chore of constantly attending to certain needs while being a ghost might give her the power to seek out her vengeance. Undeath to her was her chance of freedom and the power to seek vengeance. So far, only months after her death, she has spent much of her time practicing her new-found abilities with harmless pranks that can be deemed accidents which have never harmed anyone to avoid suspicion. She hides in ruins during the day, coming out typically at night when most people are asleep preferring to avoid people as much as possible. She has chosen to abandon the name her master gave her, Arwa, instead choosing to call herself Lyratai. Konti Gift All Konti are born with a gift, and Lyratai was no different. In death, she cannot use this ability at all, and is gladdened for its loss. In life, Lyratai could tell when someone was speaking to one that they wished to harm physically after hearing the two speak together for a short time. Lyratai could not determine why see why they wished harm, if they would actually bring harm to someone, or how they planned to do so. Her gift was also limited as she can only detect a desire to deal physical harm, not harm to one's reputation or possessions. When her gift revealed to her malice, she would have a feeling of unease and nausea.

Even if she cannot speak Arumenic properly, she has learned to sing these songs well, in certain cases simply memorizing sounds, not words. Fine Object Control Although she cannot move much material, her practicing was focused upon manipulating smaller objects or parts of objects, such as undoing ties from clothes or opening latches. However: It still takes a lot of time and effort and cannot be done quickly.The target cannot be moving, and most people would notice a tightening sensation around their throat and the smell of perfume from her touch. She cannot exert more force then she could normally pick up. Things which are secured would be unaffected until she can pick up heavier objects. For instance, she cannot yank nails out of walls of buildings despite their small size because of the force needed to get them out of the wood. She can only use this ability on objects that weigh half as much as her limit to carry objects.

Being as I am, I find so few people are actually capable of seeing me, let alone naming me. 3. How old are you? From the moment of my death, I am less then one year old which I suppose makes me rather young. 4. What is your height? Depends on if I have feet at the moment. I can be as tall as a mountain or as small as a cat as I feel like it. 5. What is your weight? Inconsequential, if I possess any. Aesthetics : 1. Describe yourself as you see yourself. My form is ever changing and indistinct. It is quite difficult to describe succinctly. 2. Describe yourself as others typically see you. *Silence with a smirk* 3. What is your favorite body feature? As my body can be reformed as I please, I will have to say all of them as I can appear as I wish to be seen. Would that not make all of them as I wish them to be, and equally favored? 4. How physically fit are you? For a ghost, I must admit that I cannot affect the physical world as often as I please. But this question seems to have no actual bearing upon my kind. 5. How do you typically dress and what is your style? I prefer elegant simplicity and simply wear mists. Family : 1. Who are your parents and what are they like? I am sure that I have never met my father. I am unsure if my mother has ever seen my father for any length of time beyond which conception requires. 2. Do you have any brothers or sisters? What is the best part of death? That is difficult to answer, as there are simply too many benefits. The feeling of freedom should be mentioned, as is the worry free unlife of never having to worry of one's next supper. Of course, I could also mention the style that comes with being a ghost, as now you are capable of forming any fashion you desire, should you be so vain. 4. If you could choose, how would you want to die? I believe that you are quite too late for this question to be relevant. 5. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death? This is question is rendered moot as I am already dead. Have I already done great deeds worthy to be remembered for? No? Then I shall resign myself to a life, and an unlife, of obscurity.
