Character Concept Nakita is a spectator of life; always learning from actions and interactions, watching others live their lives and calculating the wisdom of their choices. She is young, but extremely knowledgeable, possessing a vast ability to absorb information and analyze situations and outcomes. She is wise, though occasionally allows her emotions to get the better of her. Though calculating, she is anything but cold, always willing to listen to what others have to say. She is interested in strangers, and extremely extroverted, though will not tolerate rude or uncivil behavior. If you have things to teach her, she is always ready to learn. Though she does not trust you, she will help you, because she sees the value of who you are. She is an optimist, and hopes for the best at all times, but prepares for the worst (or what she envisions it to be...) Character History Nakita was always different. Though she was born into an average Vantha family, she never found what they said was important to ring true to her values. At a very young age, she discovered magic, though she did not learn how to wield it until much later. However, past the age of about 14, studies consumed her every waking moment, and she was either in the workshop that had belonged to her grandfather, a well known wizard, or trying desperately to fit into a society that prized the things that she adored, but did not really value. As is the custom, her doting parents encouraged Nakita to pursue men instead of magic (though they did not know the true extent of her 'pursuit' of magic. God forbid they ever find out). Conflicted between her love of magic and her desire to be a part of her community, Nakita tried to force herself to find a husband, with little success. The only male she managed to get close to was her old friend Terrian, an Inarta about four years older than her that she met only a few years ago. Due to the fact that, for the majority of the year, her one close friend is away from Avanthal due to his business as a traveling merchant, Nakita tends to isolate herself from the world (though if a friendly individual presents itself, she will gladly become extroverted). History is very important to Nakita. The stories that were passed from generation to generation, through her great grandparents and her grandparents and her parents. Those stories that she will eventually pass onto her children (if she were to find a husband, which she doubts will ever happen). These are what she values most, especially those of her grandfather, the mystical and mysterious man who lived in the mountains on the outskirts of Avanthal. After his death, her family inherited all of his belongings, including a very well used leather bound journal, which contained his experiments and studies of all things magical. Ever since, Nakita has devoted herself to learning his ways and following in his footsteps, ravished for more and more knowledge. Now, she is at a crossroads. At the age of 20 years old, the verge of 'unwed-able', Nakita has to find a balance between what she believes is her calling and the calling that she has received to be a true Vantha woman. |
