He felt his elbow impact against something fleshy. He could not have been sure but he thought he heard a grunt of pain from the owner of the fist. He did not have the time needed to be sure of what effect his elbow had on the man. Before the gladiator could rise to his feet a pair of hands grasped his protruding arm. He moved to pull his arm from the hands that gripped it but instead felt another set of hands suddenly latch onto his free arm. He strained against the two men holding him but he could not break free from them their restrictive holds. He felt his anger at the two beginning to grow. "Let me go", Kale snarled at the men holding him. He tried once again to pull himself from their grips. It was no use.

Pain blossomed in his abdomen abruptly. The force of the fist impacting his stomach caused him to double over slightly. The men on each side had him straightened again in short order. The new comer's fist once again found its way into Kale's gut. He lifted his head slightly, his eyes burning holes into the skull of the man who had struck him. "I am warning you..." he paused for a moment. "Let me go." The only response the gladiator got from the man was a laugh and yet another fist shoved into his stomach. Kale grit his teeth and glared daggers at the one striking him. The pain caused by the fist was beginning to mix with the dull ache that originated from his ever present hunger.

The gladiator continued to keep his jaw clenched shut. He had gained enough skill with flux by now that it took a few moments to channel through his body but it came almost willingly when he beckoned for it. The undead warrior felt the energy coursing through his body begin to move. Slowly this energy began to pool in his arms. The man's first struck his stomach again but this time Kale hardly felt the pain that had been caused by the previous blows. He felt the energy coursing through his arms. It made him feel strong. It made him feel powerful. It made him feel as though he could rend the world itself in two with his bare hands. What had been a snarl but a few moments before became a lop sided grin.

The grin caused the man in front of Kale to hesitate. It was because of that hesitation that the man was out of his reach when Kale finally decided he had had enough of this being pinned down situation. He felt the energy in his arms surge as he pulled on them. The men managed to keep their grip on his arms but he managed to pull them towards each other nonetheless. The gladiator brought his two assailants together forcefully. The impact was not enough to seriously harm the two but pain of their heads ramming into each other loosened their grips enough for him to pull his arms away from them. He took a step forward. As his balance shifted onto his forward leg he brought the other one up and planted the heel of his foot into the center man's chest.

The man stumbled backwards under the force of the blow Kale had dealt him. The blow must have forced the air out of his lungs because he dropped to his knees with a pain expression on his face and his hands clutching his chest just above where his lungs would be. He put more of his weight on the leg that he was balancing on as he twisted so that his side was facing the direction of his adversaries. He moved up the foot he had used to knock the first guy away. He brought the shin of that leg crashing into the side of one of the men's head. Before he over balanced himself he moved the foot back, impacting the third man's temple with his heel.

Be realistic when playing with Kale. Chained Ones are rare. He has no undead traits that someone can tell. There for you do not know he is undead. Until he exhibits extreme qualities outside of what a human would you can not even tell he is not human. Once he does you will NOT know what he is, only then he is not human. There for you DO NOT suddenly know how to kill him.If you some how know that he is an undead creature without a plausible reason then I will seek moderator intervention on the matter.

Almech lunged forward after ripping his wrists out of his assailant's grasp, turned around and slashed them both across the face with his claws, normally his ears would have helped him with what happened next. A mug was broken over the back of his head, in the midst of the chaos Almech's ears were useless, all the shouting, stomping and smashing had them confused, he could not currently rely on his ears to distinguish attacker's behind him. He stumbled forward and hit his head against the wall, now his was bleeding from his forehead, and the back of his head, his time spent trying to be human disappeared from Almech's mind at this point. He turned around quickly and punch the man who'd hit him with the mug square in the nose, his eyes were devoid of any type of thought, his animal fight or flight response was in high gear.

His true animalistic nature came out unbridled by his desire to "appear human" the man he'd struck tried to retaliate, stabbing with the broken handle of the mug, Almech grabbed the man's arm and bit into it. The man screamed in pain as Almech tore muscle and ligaments from the bone, blood poured onto the floor, Almech chewed up the flesh and swallowed it, blood coated his mouth and chin. The man fell back onto the floor, and Almech was about to finish him off, until another man tried to choke him from behind, Almech violently bent over, throwing his assailant over, landing him on top of the man who'd just fell. He stomped the man in the stomach, and his next though came, Kale he looked around and saw that Kale was in a tight squeeze himself, Almech ran forth soon there would be a group of men surrounded Kale.

He jumped onto a table and dove into the crowd, knocking several men onto the ground, giving Kale time enough to take care of what needed taken care of, Almech was thrown to the side by a large Akalak. The Akalak and four others who appeared human confronted him, Almech threw punch after punch at the Akalak, but it's evasive skills were impressive, instead countered every one of Almech's attacks. He caught a fist to his ribs an elbow to his cheek and a headbutt to his nose, Almech was disoriented to say the least, and in a desperate fit to even the odds, as it was 5 against 1. Almech leapt back avoiding another attack from the Akalak and the four humans rushed at him, he was snarling and growling, the first of the four, Almech gouged out one of his eyes.

This man was out of commission, now for the next three, they obviously didn't have much experience in fighting at all, they crowded eachother, and didn't give eachother any shoulder room, they pretty much tried to group tackle him. Almech hopped into the air, slamming his heel into the back of one's head knocking him out, the other two stumbled onto the ground, the Akalak was right in his face and a fist planted itself into Almech's gut. This forced him to projectile vomit what he'd eaten into the Akalak's face, it came as a shock and the Akalak hunched over to whipe it from his eyes and so caught Almech's knee in the bridge of his nose. Almech turned around the two drunks he's made fall were ready again, one caught a food in his groin and he instantly fell to the ground and with the same foot Almech stomp kicked at the side of the other's knee, breaking it, he fell as well.

Kale turned around in time to see the flying blur that was Almech tackle a group of people that had been intending to surround and subdue him. This was no battle in the arena. In the arena you had a clear idea of who your allies and who your opponents were. In a tavern brawl such as this such clear as day, black and white views were impossible. These battles were always a drunken free for all. In fights like these every man and woman was likely trying to beat you to a pulp.

The gladiator knew these facts. Yet, he let the image of Almech coming to his aid distract him. He paid for his mistake as a fist came crashing into the side of his face. Pain bloomed in his face but he ignored it. One of the perks to his new found body was that he could heal things such as slashes to the abdomen as if they were bug bites. A simple bruised cheek would not leave any lasting effects. The blow however, did cause his head to twist in the opposite direction. He came to a realization. He hated tavern brawls. He hated how void of talent such a fight was.

Kale retaliated in the direction the fist had come from. He forced the energies swirling in his left arm to join the energy in his right as he thrust his right arm in the direction of the attack. Such a blow might have broken his knuckles if he had had his hand balled in a fist. As it was, his palm hit the attacker and sent him arching back into nearby patrons. Kale pulled the energy back from his arm and turned his head back in the direction he had last spotted Almech. He caught sight of his animalistic partner as he planted his forehead into that of an Akalak's.

He had no idea what an Akalak would be doing in such a place but he really did not care. He watched as Almech turned his attention back to more attackers assailing him. His canine friend did not see the Akalak pick itself up from the ground. Nor did he see the rage playing across the blue warrior's face. The larger man began to advance menacingly towards Almech from behind.

Kale moved towards his comrade. He would not let his friend meet his end in such a way. Only he had the right to end his friend's life. He bounded over an upturned table and under a chair being swung through the air. He put himself between Almech and the big blue man. This only served to make the Akalak angrier. The large man charged Kale. For a moment it seemed as though Kale was frozen in fear. For those briefest of moments it appeared as though Kale was not going to move as the Akalak attacked him.

At the last possible moment Kale ducked under the larger warrior's grasp. He felt the energy in his core snap into the muscles in his arms. He brought his arms up as the energy filled the length of each arm. This time it was not one but two palms that met his opponent's chest. The impact of the blow caused Kale's palms to ache but the effect of the flux energy on his strength was more than clear. The large man was lifted off his feet and crash into the comrades that had taken up positions behind him. "I think we should find an exit", he yelled to his partner in an attempt to make his voice heard through all of the shouting.

Almech heard his companion's call "I think you're right" he yelled back.

He turned quickly to see Kale standing a short distance in front of him, Almech grabbed up a chair and headed in front of Kale. He swung the chair violently trying to clear a path through the mayhem. He caught a fist in his face which was retaliated with a stabbing elbow strike to the assailant's chest, knocking the wind out of him, Almech did not look back to see if Kale was behind him. A mug shattered over the side of his head and he collapsed, in a daze he guarded himself desperately to keep from being trampled.

His vision had become blurry but Almech felt a duty to get himself and Kale out of there. He got up wobbly, he could feel the warm wetness of his blood running down the side of his head, in his ear and the side of his forehead. He pushed and shoved people aside, finally finding himself in front of the exit, he was grabbed on the shoulder and someone had attempted to pull him away from the door. H

e turned to the side to see a man throwing a punch toward his face, Almech ducked down to dodge it and slice with his claws upwards and he stood back up with his flattened hand. The man stumbled back and fell trying to dodge it. Almech kicked open the door and jumped out, he stood up quickly and turned around to make sure that Kale was going to make it out ok

Notes:
Almech, I’m going to assume that you had permission to take control of Kale’s character and make him say the things he said before the thread started, because if you didn’t that’d be godmodding. Whenever you do that, for the rater’s benefit more than anything else, put a little OOC note saying you’ve acquired permission at the bottom of the post.

I may have told you about this before, but try to avoid telling people how to react. ‘His friend would probably be surprised’ takes you away from Almech’s perspective. If you want him to be surprised, make Almech do something that surprises him—the rest should come naturally, and if it doesn’t go the way you expect then it just means you get to understand their character better.

I find it hard to believe that Almech doesn’t understand mating. Animals need to learn that fast. Almech’s dog form would be sexually mature by his current age. If nothing else, he’ll have experienced the desire for it . . . unless he’s been castrated or otherwise ruined for reproduction. He’s innocent of humanity, but he’s still a fully functional animal.

It was hard to take any of this thread seriously, just because of that one absurd bit of logic.

Akalaks always know how to fight. Always. Part of their ritual of manhood is hunting and killing a glassbeak, and later a zith. Assuming that they are anything less than competent in a fight goes against the lore completely.

I was hard on both of you when it came to unarmed combat because you’re competent in it. Advancing should be an effort, after all.
