No excuses (Banir, Oluse)

Postby Oluse on January 22nd, 2012, 8:38 pm

Oluse was furious, just one punch is all he wanted. He didn't care about winning, or coming out on the moral high horse, not this time. Alea had, well he wasn't sure what Alea had done. But, he was angry at her for it. He decided to take the hit, a tactful move though he didn't know it. The waterskin full of coin, strapped along his chest would likely take the brunt of Alea's swing, if leaving some indents in Oluses chest and Alea's fist afterward. Oluse's true reasoning behind taking the hit, however, was that it was the perfect opportunity to hit her.

Having less compassion in his heart in that moment than her, he had no qualms about aiming for that jabbering mouth of Alea's. Clumsily he flung out his fist. It was balled, and properly so, with anger, fueled by pure focus on that one hit. It was rare for the young physician to become so focused, to stop thinking about dangers and reasons he shouldn't do something. But, in that moment he didn't think about the moral implications of the strike, he didn't think about the possibility of permanent damage or even death, he didn't think about the well being of his patient Banir, he didn't think about his job, and he didn't think about the trained icewatch guards just in the next room. And most of all he didn't think about what Alea said as she came at him. Oluse's punch was aimed a tad low, but was set on a fast and direct course toward Alea's face otherwise, all as he ignored the punch heading for him.

No excuses (Banir, Oluse)

Postby Alea Davenport on January 22nd, 2012, 9:01 pm

Alea's fist did not have quite the impact on Oluse that she'd expected. In fact, it felt a little bruised... why was he wearing a bag of coins on his chest? Because her guard was lowered, she did not expect Oluse's retaliation, and his punch hit its intended target. Fortunately, Oluse was not that strong and all she got was a rather large bruise, but it was still painful enough to make Alea feel perfectly justified in continuing the fight.

Raising her arms to protect her face, she tackled Oluse, ramming him with her shoulder. Trying to force him to lose his balance, she then kicked the back of his knee with her heel, while grabbing onto his arm to keep her own balance. Her strategy was that at close range, Oluse would be less likely to gain leverage for another swing like that. Plus she wagered on him still being enough intimidated by her that having her practically on top of him would slow him down a little. Or maybe, just maybe, she just wanted a sort of vengeance against males for the last time she'd lost a fight.

No excuses (Banir, Oluse)

Postby Banir Ironwood on January 22nd, 2012, 9:20 pm

Banir actually went wide eyed at seeing Oluse hit Alea, he hadn't expected such action from him. Concern came to him for Alea but she seemed fine enough. She also proved this by performing her assault on Oluse. Banir was worried and his chest tightened more, it caused him to groan a little. Knowing almost that this wasn't how friends behaved he decided that it would be best to step in now. Three light steps to approach then a thunderous final as he stomped on the ground. The metal on his boot clattered from the force. Simultaneously he grabbed Alea and Oluse by the front of their clothes. With great force he separated the two, and perhaps with too much force.

He stood in the middle of them, his right metal clawed arm facing Alea. While Oluse was faced with his leather bound left. Looking from side to side his eyes where Red but with an airing purple of concern rimming the edge. He didn't want to get in between the two but he felt that it had been enough. It was bad enough that Oluse, someone who could become a good friend. And Alea his, well what he guessed was his friend, had met before. Though he saw hostility between them, something told him they where friends. Not sure if his direct interference between the two was enough he spoke.

"That's enough, this is, supposed to be a place of healing. Do, not, fight, here." His voice had gained more force, like he was speaking more of a command than just a statement. His voice wasn't loud, he didn't shout, but it was still strong enough to carry weight. And with this he hoped that at least they would do it elsewhere. But then he thought that perhaps this was the best place. 'There where other healers nearb-NO! They shouldn't fight, its disrespectful to the ideal of the clinic!' Or at least that's what he thought. His mind was trying to get lost in its thoughts but he kept a hold on reality.
"Where life leads me, is where I shall go. The greater question is, who is willing to accompany me on such a long travel?"

No excuses (Banir, Oluse)

Postby Oluse on January 23rd, 2012, 5:48 am

Oluse fought Alea's tackle for a moment, before his feet left the ground, as his body did not fall but levitated up by his clothes. His thick leather shirt gave a slight ripping sound as a few threads were torn apart, his feet just barley touching the ground still. He breathed hard, and gave a jerk at first, wanting to free himself for defense, before he realized Alea had also been ceased. Breathing hard a moment, he quickly calmed down from the short burst of anger. Shame filled it's place, tinged with just enough satisfaction for him to nod toward the superior power holding him, and his undeniable logic.

"You're right, Mr. Ironwood." He tried to think of something else to say, but there really wasn't anything. "You're right." He considered apologizing, but he didn't like lying, especially to a man that had stopped him from continuing his idiotic behavior. He found it odd, how he had half expected this man to throw some punches just a few minutes earlier, and it had been that very man that saved Oluse from engaging in further combat. To this thought he simply gave another nod to Banir, and looked him calming in the eyes, ignoring Alea. This was in an attempt to show him he was calm, and logical again now.

No excuses (Banir, Oluse)

Postby Alea Davenport on January 23rd, 2012, 7:15 am

Alea was slightly disappointed. She would have been happy to take the brawl outside. She thought about struggling, but the metal claw gripping her gave her pause. She did not really feel like having her organs crushed just for a chance to get at Oluse right this second (she had all season for that), so she grudgingly acknowledged that, since Banir was her friend and this fight didn't concern him, it was rude to continue it in his presence if he wanted them to stop. This gave her enough pause to remember that she'd had something more important to use Oluse for than a punching bag. What was that again?

Oh, right, she needed him to go to the library with her to find information on Mura. She sighed dramatically and muttered, "But that was so much fun." Raising her voice a little, she said, "Fine, fine, I'll leave him alone. For now. I need him for something else anyway." She was going to wait for Banir to put them down before she extracted a promise from Oluse to help her, but she realized she might as well take care of that now, when the boy couldn't get away. "Oluse. You. Me. Library. At your earliest convenience."

No excuses (Banir, Oluse)

Postby Banir Ironwood on January 23rd, 2012, 4:07 pm

At hearing their words to stop fighting Banir nodded and gently set them down on the ground. He brushed off the filth from his gloves off of their persons. The metal clinking with each movement he made. As he lowered his arms the leather holding his amour in place creaked lightly. Standing easy knowing the fight as ceased his chest felt like it had lightened. Walking back to the table he picked up the box given to him by Oluse. Turning around half expecting Alea to jump Oluse he looked between the two. His red eyes looking over them checking to be sure that they where still alright. Seeing nothing they couldn't heal from he lowered his head to both of them.

"Thank you, Oluse, for your, assistance." Lowering his head once again in humble respect he made for the door. He felt no further need to be here, his stomach agreed as it rumbled for food. Opening the door then looking to the two holding it open for them. Standing there his black leather glove a stain against the strong light brown wood. Shifting uncomfortably as he accommodated the box cradled in his armoured right hand.
"Where life leads me, is where I shall go. The greater question is, who is willing to accompany me on such a long travel?"

No excuses (Banir, Oluse)

Postby Oluse on January 23rd, 2012, 6:15 pm

Oluse gave a pitiful look to Alea when she said that was fun. "You're crazy, women." He said back and shook his head. He thought for a moment about the library, and though he didn't much fancy going with Alea, not wanting a brawl to damage any books, he could never deny an invitation to the library, and he had to admit he did want to research this Mura place. "Fine, where are you staying? I'll stop by when I'm not at work." As he listened to her response he followed through the door.

"Thank you, Banir." He said respectfully as he rubbed at his hand, trying to relieve the pain. He hated punching people, why did it always have to hurt so much?

No excuses (Banir, Oluse)

Postby Alea Davenport on January 23rd, 2012, 8:43 pm

After Banir set them down, Alea made a show of straightening her clothes. She told Oluse she was staying in the Frostfawn hold. She decided that she might be able to refrain from attacking the boy until AFTER they were done with the library; if nothing else, Coren's presence would make it two against one, and her self-preservation might override her desire to fight.

Stepping through the doorway Banir was holding open, Alea wrapped her cloaks more tightly around herself in preparation to go outside. "Oluse, I expect you to come by soon. Banir, I'm sure I'll see you around." Having made her goodbyes, she stepped out into the cold.

Banir held the door open for Alea and silently waved goodbye to his friend. Turning to Oluse he shifted uncomfortably then nodded at him. He still seemed to dislike talking as he shyly shifted his weight and turned out the door. Yet before he left out the door, he simply said.

"Be careful." Opening the door he left into the cold shivering lightly as an icy wind managed to find a way past his bundled defenses. Marching out of the healing center and off to find something to sate his stomach.
