“Of course, I am sorry, I did not mean to imply that.” Fiera backtracked, she was dealing with someone of higher authority that her; there was no need to be so defensive of her rights. She was so used to dealing with untrustworthy people on the street that, to her, all humans looked devious.

When the registrar paused in answering her question, Fiera worried that he would deny her any job in the university. Luckily for her, however, the man was generous.

“Ah, yes I would like to take up university maintenance for the duration of my classes. How much of a reduction would I receive?”

Eorar fished around in his coin pouch for the required money, but his webless hands made the task difficult. When he finally found his grip he handed them to the registrar as gracefully as he could manage, smiling happily.

"Thank you," he said earnestly before politely making way for the next person in line.

Siarak push out his lips and nodded his head giving up to Sanderson point. Helping out with magic experiments would no doubt be foolish, and more than a little suicidal. “Very well then you have point I think I will help with the translation” he said dryly at the same time wondering what things he can learn from translating those texts.

WN 1 511

Trente waited with less than accepting patience as the line crept forward. His attempts at smooth talking the equally impatient to be pupils around him ended in vein, with no yield save a few sharp and indignant glares. He simply sighed at their lack of empathy for his cause and shifted uncomfortably under the weight of his pack. He hadn't had time to set up board for the night, and as such was hoping he could get a dorm arranged that night. Little had he known the office would be so full, even nearing the end of the day.

Once his turn arrived he stepped forward briskly, impatient and stern, money pouch already withdrawn from his pack. His voice seemed nothing but confident and detached, however. He was there for business and nothing else, and he had no intention of wasting his own time or the man before him's. He gave a quick look to the plaque before the shrew of a bureaucrat before him then spoke. "Mister Sanderson, my name is Trente Ostentatoire-Criard Eclatante. That is 'Trente' with an 'e' and 'Ostentatoire-Criard' is hyphenated." His speech was quick, eager to get through the process of registration, and not bothering to slow feeling the man obviously knew his job well enough after the dozen or so people who stepped forward before him in that day alone that he hadn't a need to hold H. Sanderson's hand through the procedure. "I am here to purchase admittance to three classes for this season. All will be at the basic level. The first is the performing arts of acting. The second, Geography, more specifically Cartography. The last will be a more challenging course, the mystical studies of Summoning. I am aware the class was noted to only have a few places open in it, but how I see is one or two of the less gifted students are bound to end up in the Asylum before long any way, so one more student to flush the pack would cause no harm." After his quick speech he paused a moment to take a measured breath, then continued, "In addition, I would require a dormitory room. I intend to take on some more active electives and hobbies so I would naturally appreciate a larger room and one to myself if possible, to offer some more private space to exercise my learning that is not in the way of other students. I don't wish to argue the point, for I know you have much work to do. I really must insist on a larger room, however. The alternative would be much too cumbersome for the other students and professors." He nodded to the man, as he started to withdraw his money from within a large pouch slung from a front belt loop.

"When you pay for your course, you'll be assigned a dormitory," Sanderson explained with a nod, "you don't have to pay any additional rent for it. As for internships, you'd need to speak to the professor you're interested in training alongside. It's definitely not unheard of in the University."

It was nice to see an enthusiastic student considering his career. There were too many layabouts in Zeltiva for Sanderson's liking.

---

Fiera

"It's no problem," Sanderson replied, waving his hands, "it's just that... we're a traditional sort of establishment. I wouldn't want our record tarred by silly rumours. Now... maintenance would reduce your costs by a quarter."

---

Eorar

"Thank you. Please, do enjoy your course." Sanderson took the money with a smile, eying the next person in line.

---

Siarak

Sanderson shook his head. It seemed this man was eager to get some kind of discount - whatever the cost.

"I'm sure your translation skills will be most useful. I can reduce your tuition fees by a quarter if that's what you would like to do."

---

Trente

"Well aren't you the confident one," Sanderson said with a smirk. This young man was certainly full of himself. If he wanted a large room all to himself, he could pay a little more than the others. "The three basic classes will be contained in one course. Your summoning classes are held in the East Wing, while the other two will be in the West. Oh, and I'm sure we can sort out the dormitory. It will come to twenty five Miza's in total, sir Trente."

01 Winter 511
Smiling, Stri was glad to hear he did not have to pay for housing. And there were job opportunities as well! This trip was going to turn out more fruitful than he could have imagined.

"Thank you, Mr. Sanderson." He began, fishing out five gold Miza at a time and placing them on the counter in front of him. Once the twenty had been accrued he nudged them closer to the Registrar and continued. "I will be sure to contact Mr. Stonemiller as soon as possible."

"No problem, young man. It's nice to see a student taking some pride in their future. And yes, be sure to do that."

Sanderson took the twenty miza's and gave the man a firm nod as he left the queue.

Trente gave Sanderson's ambiguous comment a haughty smile. Confidence was nothing to be ashamed of as far as Trente was concerned. "Why thank you very much Mister Sanderson. And here you go." He without reservation set twenty five Mizas on the table in a teat stack, then stopped a moment, looked at the man and set another five Mizas down closer to him in another small pillar. The man had been efficient and polite, he felt a tip was in order. The display was not a flashing of money, or an outlandish remark to his own status, simply an appreciative response to good service, one that he doubted was shown nearly enough to the helpful and dedicated man before him. "If you could just leave the appropriate papers with me I will sign them and get them back to you after they are finished. I see no reason to hold up the line, they couldn't possibly be too complicated, correct?"

Trente

Sanderson was taken aback as the cocky young man offered him another 5 Miza's as a tip. "Sir, we do not accept bribes. This is a long standing institution. We take pride in keeping everything above board." He took the extra five Miza's and pocketed them, "I suppose we can overlook your indiscretion this time."

He pulled the small collection of forms from under the desk and handed them to the man.

"There you go. Bring them back when they're done, and I'll assign you a dormitory. I hope you enjoy your tenure here in Zeltiva."

Trente gave but a kind and silent smile to the man's words. He acted taken aback, but Trente felt that this Mister Sanderson no doubt took the gesture to heart in a positive light, or would later when he thought back on the encounter. Trente pondered a moment silently as he accepted the papers and pen that perhaps he was too trusting in the nature of humans. Still, he enjoyed the simple life of looking upon people as primarily good natured, if a bit slow of mind at times. "Thank you, Sir." He offered as a final note, and took off to a corner in order to place his money securely back into his bag, and fill out the forms without being in anyone's way. They took some time, but not so much that it grew tedious to Trente. Once he was done he presented the papers once more, in expectation of the acquisition of a suitable dorm room.
