Reticent and boisterous, eccentric and timid. It just always depends on who she's with, when she's with them. Being quiet and shy seems to be a sign of respect in her eyes, while being loud and strange shows distrust. She's quick to trust, but not to everyone. To the races that she was raised to fancy (Viper Dhani and Eypharians) she will trust very quickly, and to those that she is unfamiliar with or entirely racist against, (mainly Kelvics and Myrians--Kelvics are seen as pets, and Myrians are seen as savages,) Mneme will take a considerable amount of time longer to favor.
She also shows an incredible displeasure of music. It doesn't matter what genre, what instrument, where-when-why...she can't stand it. Music to her ears is anywhere music isn't present, which can be a problem in Alvadas, City of Illusions and City of Performers. That doesn't mean she'll just walk around smashing instruments, though. She knows the value of them, and will leave them be if just for the sake of their owners.
Recently, she has started just simply standing on a street corner and yelling. This was most likely caused by the fact that she has no friends; she would just walk around with an elitist mentality, derived from her Eypharian upbringing. The high sense of dignity and grandeur have since reduced to nothing, leaving her a desperate, empty shell of her former self.
Mneme hopes to make a comeback, to return to the glorious (half) Eypharian she used to be. She's tried to stop being so haughty, and to try to be a better person. Most of this is fake, though, and her main goal is to travel back to Ahnatep. Of course, she'll most likely achieve this the Eypharian Way: Lies and manipulation. to be continued...
Mneme grew up in Ahnatep. Her life there was an odd one, but the Eypharians weren't as racist to her as they were other races, because she still had Eypharian blood. She grew up there, with the same work as other Eypharians, learning the language, and adopting their elitist mentality. Back then, Mneme's name wasn't Mneme, but it was Tahne Broen, adopting her father's last name and her given first name. She lived a happy life, enjoying the cuisine, city, and the Eypharians in all their splendor. She lined her eyes with kohl and gold dust, painted her skin, but was never into the fashion of dying her hair. But that didn't matter; she just kept it long. Mneme even enjoyed music back then, and was a decent harp player. She was also taught basic combat skill, enjoying unarmed and war fans the most.
Then, her father decided to show his ugly mug and invited Mneme to stay with him in Alvadas. She really didn't want to leave Ahnatep, but her mother pushed her to go. 'Get to know your father,' she would say. So Mneme left, and traveled the long journey to Alvadas, with her father. When they arrived at first, he treated Mneme with the politeness of a house guest, but not like a daughter. He never hugged her, or told her good night, or even made her food. It was this neglect that's part of the reason she's not so good at Common...she never had anyone to talk to.
Her father was a musician, and a good one at that. Music was his one true love, and it came before anything else, even Mneme. It was this that sparked her hatred of music. After a year of living there, Mneme went slightly insane. She burned his precious violin, music, and paper, and anything that wouldn't burn was smashed to pieces, while he was out and about shopping or doing whatever it was he was doing. After this, she stole a pair of her father's leather boots, 600 gold mizas, and a canvas bag that had originally been the one she had used on her way to Alvadas. She found her black satin slippers inside, and put them on underneath to boots, which helped them not fall off her feet. And with that, she left his house and went straight to The Sanity Center, and purchased her own house with 500 of the mizas. Mneme changed her name around this time as well, from Tahne to Mneme. That is where she currently resides, although some people would be led to believe she sleeps on the streets, considering how she always seems to be on a street corner one way or another.to be continued... |
