Time to get down to work (Oluse, Lucifel)

Postby Luchiana on January 26th, 2012, 3:27 am

Lucifel remained in her dream world for quite a long time while her body was being treated, then finally the drug worked through her enough that she began to awaken and stir again. She felt groggy and her mind was fogged by the reminants of the drug. For the time being though, it still had enough of a grip on her to keep the pain from returning. She opened her eyes although they were still glazed over. Her blonde hair shifted over her body as she moved a little. She caught the tail end of what that the doctor had said to the pycon, who was now identified as Falix. she felt an odd tugging at her side and looked down seeing her side was stitched up. She looked at the doctor again. He seemed exausted and ready to just quit, but surely just stitching up her side hadn't tired him out that much had it? Or had she been injured far worse then she imagined. She looked the man over and didn't see any blood on him so he must have either cleaned up or had just only stitched her side like she first thought.

She was afraid to move, not wanting to trigger another episode of pain, however she did call out to the doctor lthough her voice was tired. "Thank you, two-legged one. Your help was much appriciated." she did not remember him introducing himself and so two-legged was just a term to refer to him without sounding rude. She had been in the human world for a while now having been raised in a family that was almost all human Kelvics, so she had learned to adapt human behaviours while still maintaing herself.

She then turned to the pycon who had been watching presumably, or helping the doctor. she gave a small nod towards the Pycon as well, before turning to look at the doctor who had helped her. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she tried to get a better look at him her mind still hazy from the drugs and pre-op her vision had been so blurred she hadn'tbeen able to see him at all. she then sniffed at the air and the tang of pain and fear filtered from the man, as well as some kind of other scent that she didn't immediately recognize.

"You smell of fear and pain human, and it would seem something ails you. But I sense nothing here that would cause such a reaction, tell me are you quite well?" Perhaps it would seem odd that she would be concerned over nother when she obviously had herself to worry about. However having been raised in the human family had given her a set of different morals then one might expect from your average Kelvic. or perhaps she was asking simply to get closer to the man who had likely saved her life.

She shivered slightly from a chill that races across her skin and down her spine, and while she was tempted to shift to her animal form she knew that she would not be able to do so in her condition. She looked to the Pycon and asked for her cloak. It was blood stained but at least it would be something to keep her warm.

Time to get down to work (Oluse, Lucifel)

Postby Falix on January 26th, 2012, 3:45 am

She had watched the entire time and been there if he needed anything else. she had seen the expressions coming over his face as he worked and wondered what it was that was going through his head. He had an almost detached air about him and it was hard for her to watch. she jumped with suprise when she heard the kelvic speak. She looked at Oluse then back at Lucifel. "U-uh yeah....I can be back tomarrow" for the next part, are you gonna be okay to make it home?" She hoped that in his exausted and tired state that he wouldn't get himself lost or slip on some ice and hurt himself. She ran over and got his shirt and coat and jumped up on the desk leaving them there for him to put on, then she went and retrieved the Kelvic's cloak and slipped it over Lucifel's body the best she could.

she wondered about what the Kelvic had said and took a closer look at Oluse. She was right, his muscles were tense and he seemed edgy. The sutchering shouldn't of been that exausting, no this was something else. Something about the patient herself had set him off. She knew there was no familiarity between the two of them, so it must have been something from his past. she bit her lip slightly a bit worried and concerned for her friend. She looked up from the operating table Lucifel was on. "I'm with Lucifel on this one. Is there something that you want to talk about? or is it too diffacult?" part of being a Pycon was helping to solve the situations of others and helping in any way that she could in keeping other people happy and to be a sort of "conscious" for them if need be.

She thought of Banir and her relationship with him or she was his conscious almost and how that he seemed relaxed around her.

Time to get down to work (Oluse, Lucifel)

Postby Oluse on January 28th, 2012, 2:09 pm

oocIf you don't mind, Lucy, I'm going to kinda omit Lucifels part here. I would love to have her waking up convo, but it should be in another thread. This one is in a good spot to stop, and it makes more sense for her to sleep for a while.

It you would like to just move that post to a new thread and PM me with it we can continue there. (Maybe move Falix out on the room to make it one on one)

I would still be up for more threads with Falix to teach her though, too. ^-^

Oluse nodded toward Falix and picked up his shirt, pulling it over his head, and onto his thin frame. He gave only a nod at first as he thought over her question. He knew the answer, he most certainly did not want to speak of what was on his mind. However, his apprentice deserved a response. After all, weather she knew it or not her presence in the room helped get him through the procedure. It took till his coat was also upon him before he had a speech prepared.

"Remember what I spoke to you about yesterday, Falix. There is a risk to tending to people's lives. While you work to save theirs, you learn," He paused unsure of the word at first, but then continued, deciding it was proper, "Yes, learn. We learn to share their wounds. Their injuries. At first tending to the wounded is just a skill. But, a time comes when you connect with your patients. When you see their wounds, you feel their wounds. The beating of their heart becomes the pulse of the blood in your veins." He then looked to her, with a sad expression. He wanted to give her a reassuring smile, but there was nothing reassuring about what he was about to task her with. "You should go home tonight, Falix. Go home and think about what it means when that pulse dies." He stared her straight in the eyes, unwavering, and finished his words. "When a patient dies."

He let the words linger a moment in the air of the small room before he blinked, and broke eye contact. The words tasted bitter on his tongue, and saying them out loud had brought an uncomfortable risk of shedding tears to his eyes. However, along with this he found a certain inspiration. He tried a moment to understand it, why he felt inspired by those morbid words he spoke, but something in him felt better once they left his lips. And in this wave of relief he found his usual reassuring smile.

Still not holding eye contact he gave that familiar smile to the little Pycon. "I won't be going home for some time. I have a whole day of work ahead of me still. Doctors don't get to just go home when they are having a bad day." With that he shooed her out of the room, and grabbed the door to close it.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Falix. We can talk more then." His usual mood slowly and reluctantly returning, he gave one last look back toward Lucifel, his expression drifting into a dark and sensual brood for a short moment, before he pulled the door till it only lay open a crack, and walked off to consult those more experienced than himself on what had transpired in the small emergency room.
