Dawn was setting; having only been awake for a few hours Ryce had made his way through the majority of the city and now stood on the edge of buildings where further would lead him into a familiar area where he often would hunt. Verlyna’s pond was within the thicket of woods, the tall grass that surrounded was a marvelous place the ferret enjoyed to creep about. Sniffing as he moved he soaked in the aroma paying attention to his movements and on the lookout for those of others. The scene was clear and oddly quite, aside for the rustling of the tall weeds as the wind blew, it almost seemed threating and left him with the idea there was another on the look for their next meal. Ryce clenched his paws into the dirt, as uncertainty arose his actions became fully instinctive, not moving was the only thing he could until a better grasp was had. As the wind died, the rustling continued a short distance in front of him, Ryce stepped forward weaving through the larger bungles of weeds and continued his attempt in catching a distinctive smell. The breeze flowing past him coming from behind he wasn’t able to catch anything. He could hear that he was getting closer; the sound getting louder and louder it became obvious as to what it was. The wild turkey shuffled through the grass, with the appearance of a robotic ease, stopping periodically to bend over and peck at the ground in search for food. The ferret could feel his mouth moisten; ready for his upcoming feast, crouching low his prey was fixed well in his sights and became the only thing of interest around him. His tail flicked as he slowly moved forward, not wanting to startle the bird to soon, this meal would be one of his bests. |
