Character Concept
Personality
Vin is awkward and looks a little surly, but he’s eager to strike up a conversation despite this. He’s just not very good at being social and tends to ramble or go off on tangents that don’t exactly lead anywhere. Generally he’s easygoing, although he has the typical viper fascination with torture. Granted, he doesn’t have much opportunity to indulge in it, which he finds frustrating.
Ethics
Vin has little respect for the property of others, having grown up with thieving as a way of life. He’s squeamish about going so far as to take a life, though, and doesn’t think he’ll be able to bring himself to work as an assassin – assuming his skills ever even reach such a point. He does appreciate and value honesty, although more from others and less from himself. If he ever had someone totally at his mercy, he’s not quite sure what he’d do. His predatory instincts could use some sharpening.
Likes
Snakes and eggs are delicious, birds and horses are beautiful, acrobatics are fun, locks are fascinating, alcohol is amazing, and art is occasionally worth a second look.
Dislikes
The cold is obviously horrible, hunger is worse, dogs are terrible, god he hates proud people, and he could do without the anxiety of someone depending on him.

Character History
Vinsens was an only child. His mother, Ispsya, lived as a hermit in Eyktol. Although she survived easily on her own and hid her clutch carefully, a desert scavenger found and devoured most of the eggs. His mother returned in time to save only a few eggs, of which just one was undamaged.
As a result Vinsens was heavily doted upon even before he hatched. Ispsya tried to ensure the safety of her only hatchling by moving to Ahnatep, where she passed as a human and learned the trades of thief and assassin. Vinsens was discouraged from going out alone and had very little interaction with anyone other than the neighbors, who were for some reason disinclined to let their children play with a young and still heavily instinct driven Dhani. These rules were broken from time to time, but nonetheless Vin had a sheltered life.
Vin’s ability to shift into a human form has coincided with a reversal of his situation: his mother was severely injured during an assassination job and has been bedridden since. Now Vinsens has both freedom and responsibility to contend with, although he’s still trying to follow the rules he was taught, even though he doesn’t quite understand their reasoning.
