Jaiun chose not to respond, though his teeth bared as he heard the man's taunting words. You're awful mouthy for someone trapped on a roof, he growled in his head, blissfully unaware of the man's workings with Djed.
After a moment of silent seething, Jaiun cast a scorching look at the man on the roof and yelled, "What is your name?" he grinned an awfully fierce grin. "What Hold do you belong to? I think I'm going to find your Hold leader and have a talk with him."
For the man clearly was Vantha; even with the failing eyesight of his human form Jaiun could make out those discerning details clearly enough. Vaguely, he wondered if the man would respond or not; if he did, it would show the man wasn't afraid if his Hold leader knew, but if he didn't, the man would be. Jaiun hoped it was the latter. He'd find out the man's name and Hold through other ways, and then what the man feared would come true regardless.
But if it was the former, Jaiun would have no other option than to just walk away, and let the man go with nothing more than a sojourn on a roof. It was almost the same as letting him go unpunished, for the first Iceglaze that came his way would rescue him easily enough...no, Jaiun paradoxically hoped his answer wouldn't be answer.
