Stumbling after the two Avora Na'Leigh panted heavily having already run her limit through the debilitating snow. Gully followed, growling back at the Dire Bear. Kept upright by holding the woman's hand plans dove through the young girls head, each one proving more impossible than the first. Biting her lip till it bled she swore to herself she would get these women out of the trouble she had brought upon them.

"Maybe we can trick it with all this snow, some sort of hole or something? A cliff? We won't lose it in the woods, it'll just bash the trees and keep coming," The Inarta before her huffed out.

Immediately considering the cliff, an idea slipped slowly into Na'Leigh's consciousness. It wasn't a brilliant idea but it might get them all out alive.

"I have a plan!" She huffed out, glancing behind her she saw the bear gaining quickly on them. Signaling for the woman ahead of them to slow down, she shared her plan quickly with the Hunters. "I-I don't have time to explain it completely." She reasoned, knowing that was only half the truth, She wasn't sure what the Avora would think of leaping off a cliff, nor whether they had the skills to climb back up when they reached the end of their cords. "When we get to the forest, we'll split up. You," She said gesturing the one who had bolted immediately, "draw the bear away," she gestured to the right, "We'll go to the cliff. Try to buy us a couple minutes, then meet us there, bring the bear." She huffed out her strides slowing with exhaustion, "hopefully, our splitting up will confuse him enough that he'll hesitate, and give you some time to get ahead." She crossed her fingers in her gloves.

Nearing the tree line she leaned heavily on Gully, unable to keep her frozen feet beneath her. Looking at the Avora she begged the skies they would listen to her despite her age, unless they had a better plan, this looked like their only option.

As Arandoyla voiced exactly what Cherie was thinking, the Inarta turned her head, so that she could see the running figures behind her and also the huge dire bear, which was much too near for her liking. She considered what to do, mapping out the area around them in her head. The edge of the world was near and was one of their only chances of killing the bear. Cherie opened her mouth to relay her vague plan to her companions, but the Yasi girl that had just joined them interrupted her.

"When we get to the forest, we'll split up. You draw the bear away," she pointed at Cherie, "We'll go to the cliff. Try to buy us a couple minutes, then meet us there, bring the bear.”

A Yasi had just given her an order! Cherie felt her disgust rise up like bile in her throat, but she held her tongue, this was no time to argue. Yasi or not, it was a good idea and if she let the Inartian social structure get in the way, they might all lose their lives. Again, Cherie glanced behind her.

“Alright, but do whatever you have to do quickly – I will meet you two at the edge in a few minutes” Cherie replied, her voice raspy from her dry throat. The Yasi speaks as if it will be easy, to bring the bear, she had no idea how wrong she is, thought Cherie.

“Hopefully, our splitting up will confuse him enough that he'll hesitate, and give you some time to get ahead."

“Are you sure it’s a male?” Cherie’s chuckle came out hoarse and strained. The dire bear acted exactly like a mother who had just had her cubs threatened and in her bitter state, Cherie had no doubt the stupid Yasi girl had tried to kill the bears cubs. At that last thought, she felt a stab of revolution, the bears cubs would be left alone and hungry, unable to hunt at such a tender age.

The snow was deeper here; the sun’s rays had not managed to pierce the dense branches which made up the forest and melt the snow underfoot. Cherie uttered a short prayer to the goddess Priskil and dove off to the left, hoping that the bear would chose to follow her.

Arandolya
The only limit is the Stars . . .

At this point, Arandolya simply ran blindly, hoping to outdistance the Dire Bear, although she knew that was practically impossible - she never was one to come up with brilliant escape plans. "I have a plan!" At least one of them was thinking! The Avora looked over at the Yasi, nodding encouragingly, although she didn't know how good a plan would be coming from the same girl who triggered this attack. As the Yasi gave out orders, Arandolya's honey gaze narrowed, although she bit her tongue. Society's expectations would have to wait, for now it the plan seemed decent. Arandolya looked behind her, not surprised to see the bear had gained on them.

Alright, but do whatever you have to do quickly – I will meet you two at the edge in a few minutes." The red-haired Avora frowned slightly, wondering how the bear was to go after one piece of prey, which didn't have much meat as Inarta tended to be slender from their daily exertions, versus the three that ran the other way, including the dog at their heels, who was aggravating the bear more with all of it's growling!
Hopefully, our splitting up will confuse him enough that he'll hesitate, and give you some time to get ahead." Arandolya glanced behind her again, and shook her head slightly, having a notion this would not be a male bear. Surely not of this scale, Arandolya had seen the same type of anger that fueled these types of long-winded chases. And always, they were aggravated females.
Are you sure it’s a male?” The same possibility going through Arandolya's mind, and she smiled humorlessly at her fellow hunter, before squeezing her hand lightly as she turned to leave.
"Take care, Cherie, we'll see you soon," she murmured, a small promise in times like this.

Arandolya looked at the Yasi and the dog for a moment. Her breath plumed like clouds in front of her, and she just wanted to stop and catch her breath. As Cherie raced off, Arandolya directed them the way the Yasi had pointed out previously, hoping her foolish plan would work. Murmuring to any god or goddess willing to listen to her plea, Arandolya started running, practically dragging the younger female. The need for the bear to go after Cherie strengthening her resolve, she sped up, in hopes the bear would favour Cherie if this band of three was going faster than her. Whistling sharply at the dog, in order to stop it from growling and tempting the bear, as she would reprimand her bird, Arandolya conveyed the message she wanted the Yasi to tell her dog with a narrowed look.

"Let's just pray this works, little one," she muttered, emphasizing the girl's ranking with a slightly amused glance. Please, Priskil, Kihala, Ovek, anyone who has the kindness to preserve our lives . . .

Kaya

"Welcome to my Madness. :)"

Kaya was busy rummaging through her hunting bag as she tried to find her knife. She had saw the dire bear coming, but didn't think to warn anyone. "Here little bear... Mama wants to play with you!" Her voice was attempting to taunt the bear to make it think she meant business. Kaya saw the bear quickly galloping towards her, it's fat jumping up and down. She laughed, holding out her rope, ready to swing. The avora jumped into a back hand spring, landing ontop of the bear. She gripped onto it's fur at first, and then wrapped the rope inside the mouth of the bear to make it like a reign.

She was trying to show the bear who was boss and that she was in control of him. Instantly, she stuck the huunting knife where the wind pipe was located. This she knew, prevented breathing instantly therefore the animal would have a hard time putting up with her as it grew weak. Then, she took the knife to the four legs, decreasing the mobility of the bear. Eventually, she found that the bear became more aggravated by the pain that it began to die out faster than she thought.

The avora then took her dagger and stabbed it three time in the wind pipe then the stomach. The dire bear became lifeless, as it fell to the floor in shame. Kaya giggled, and began to unwrap the rope from the bear's mouth. "Thank you for sacrificing your life for our people..." She stabbed the knife inbetween the forehead, reaching the brain. This was just to make sure that the bear were to wake up and fight again, it would struggle.

"Hello, is anyone out here! The bear is gone, mind helping me take it back or something?" Kaya called out to the empty space of snowy dreams. Kaya began to wrap the rope around the legs, tying them all together. Then took another piece of rope therefore she could attempt to pull the body quickly.

"I hope your happy now father, I have killed a dire bear. Congrats to me." The avora giggled to her father's whispers through the wind and movements of his voice that she heard.

OOC: I'm not sure, and correct me if I'm wrong, if that was entirely realistic. A Dire Bear is huge, so I don't think a simple spin would get you onto its back...also because of their size, it can be assumed their bones would be a lot stronger then a simple knife would be able to penetrate. How could you reach it's windpipe and legs from its back anyways?
I am new here, so this may not be accurate at all, and I welcome other opinions on this too. :)

OOC: I agree with Arandolya...besides it is incredibly rude to join a thread out of no where and destroy the main plot of it....you're welcome to join us if you can conceivably slip your character into it without disrupting the flow. Killing our Dire Bear is unrealistic and disruptive though. :(

And I live on a farm by the by, you absolutely cannot stab a bear through the forehead O.O even to put down our cattle when they're sick it takes a pretty mighty rifle and a great aim to get it just under the ear, let alone through the forehead. Our vet tried that when she was new to the profession and it took 10 shots....so dagger through the forehead aint gunna happen. Please check your facts before posting in Mizahar...

I really don't want to be a meanie, or be rude to anyone who is new...but though I'm new I have been searching for a good roleplay site with sensitive writers for a long time...so I'm very protective of the threads I participate in in Mizahar...

Also, to Cherie and Arandolya. Before I control the bear in my next thread do you two have any input into what she :P should do? I mean, I really wasn't expecting your characters to listen to a Yasi XD but I do have a plan...however if you think it's more likely that the dog would follow me and Arandolya and the dog I have an idea for that too ^_^'' unless you guys have any ideas of course...

OOC: It's alright, Kaya, everyone makes mistakes. You're still welcome to join, just do another entry post. Perhaps you're out hunting? And hmm . . . you see Arandolya, Na'leigh, and the dog run by? Curious you look behind them and OMG! (XD) see a large Dire bear!!! Ahhh ruunnn!

You could always join that way if you wish. (:

Na'Leigh;; I don't really care all that much, as long as Arandolya isn't auto-ed too much or anything like that to get it across. ^^

This must be the most stupid thing I have ever done, Cherie thought as she picked up a rock. The way she slipped the bush was done carefully, so as not to distract the bear from its chase. It would hardly have noticed Cherie dive off the path and into the bushes. For a moment Cherie hesitated, she could easily drop the rock and walk safely home as if nothing had ever happened. The bear would go on chasing the two girls and dog until it killed them. But Cherie would be safe.

She blushed, embarrassed at her traitorous thoughts, and hefted the rock onto her shoulder. It was about the size of two clenched fists when they are put together. The dire bear was 10 feet away from her hiding place, still galloping in its ungainly bearish gait after the two Inarta. Now that distance was reduced to 5 feet, 3, 2, 1…

Cherie pushed with both her arms, propelling the stone towards the bear. The projectile hit the mark. She smirked humourlessly. At least the bear would now have a bruise on its left shoulder. As she expected, the huge mammal skid to a halt and released a roar of frustration. It turned on Cherie, obviously sensing her with its smell.

The dire bear shook its massive head as a stick hit its nose – also thrown by Cherie before she started sprinting deeper into the woods. Here, the trees where thicker, and the bear would be slowed down with the trouble of knocking a few trees out of its way. By the sound of breaking wood, Cherie could tell the bear had decided that she was the most worthwhile prey.

Now she would just need to find her way back to Arandoyla and the Yasi before she got lost.
