Scarlett's Run (solo)

Scarlett was elegantly riding her Strider, Rocky, through the Sea of Grass pondering how to get her windmarks. Her purple sash flowed behind her indentifying her as being from the Amethyst Clan. She turned around and looked around wondering why it was so quiet. The only sound was the wind rattling the long grasses and a few of the trees on the border. She whipped her head the other direction and closey examined all things with a keen eye.

Rocky's eyes grew wide and he started snorting. He slowed down to halt and looked around also. Scarlett patted his neck "Calm down. It can't be, it's never happened to us before and they aren't gonna attack us now." The horse's nostrils flared and he stomped his hooves. Each move he made his shoulders would jerk up and his front two hooves would leave the ground somewhat of a semi-rear. "Don't rear without letting me know first, Rocky." The horse turned his head and looked at her, shaking his head up and down wildly. "I guess that's the signal." She braced herself and Rocky reared up high and slashed his hooves with a loud neigh.

Scarlett examined the grass closely. She thought she saw a dart of red run across. She pulled out her sword from it's sheath that was on her belt. "Rocky, keep rearing. If one comes out try to stomp it but let me do the rest."

Another red streak darted through the grass. She looked behind her and just unfortunately she saw two eggs Rocky had stepped on and broke. "Rocky this must be a female. You broke her eggs." If he could talk, she imagined him saying something like 'Nah shit Sherlock.'

Scarlett scanned the area for another red streak when the glass beak leaped out at her and Rocky. Rocky reared at the last minute making it to where the glass beak hit his side instead of her. The glassbeak fell backwards on it's back but soon was up and pouncing on them again. it pounced for the second time and Scarlett used her sword to slice at the glass beak. She managed to stab it's shoulder which made it cry out. The glass beak retreated but then went at Rocky. He stomped on it's head which made it almost squeak giving Scarlett a chance to slice at it again. This time, she got its head. The sharpened blade sliced the glass beak's neck in two. She was breathing hard along with Rocky. Both had adrenaline rushes that were soon beginning to fade. "Stay close, Rocky."

She dismounted Rocky and walked over to where the two smashed eggs were. There were lible more to be around that would make a good meal. She searched around through the tall grasses that were about up to her stomach for any sign of the eggs. Crunch. She looked below at her feet. Another egg smashed, but there were still 7 more on a nest. She looked around and quickly put the eggs in her bag and ran back to Rocky. She quickly mounted Rocky "Come on boy. maybe we can get through our daily round of galloping." She nudged him in the ribs with her boots and he took off running near the tree line.

She hoped the glass beaks had had enough of her. She'd end up slaying another one if they hadn't which she really didn't feel like doing. Rocky was far away from where she'd gotten the eggs by now. The glassbeak meat! Why didn't I get it? she thought to herself. By now scavengers or vultures had probably gotten ahold to it. "Sheesh, Rocky why didn't you remind me about the meat?!" she didn't mean to make her words sound harsh at all, she was just paying around. But alas, Rocky didn't quite get sarcasm. He stopped dead in his tracks to a sudden stop.

The unprepared Scarlett was hurled forward into the dirt. She caught herself with her hands before she hit the dirt. She found herself looking straight at the dirt and the long grasses watching as a wandering ant walked on the ground. She turned over and faced Rocky "I was just kidding!" she wiped her forehead on her jacket. The horse seemed sorry and bent his head down to help her up. She accepted with a sigh as the horse pulled her up with his neck.

Rocky kneeled down and she climbed on his tall back. She clicked her tongue and they were off again. Rocky would make sure he didn't upset her again. He could sense her mood change. He snorted and kept his pace up. He seemed to be the same juvenile he was when he was first born. Wild, Reckless, and almost never grew tired.

She sighed "We should head to the market, Rocky. I wanna pick up some meat anf some fruit from the Ruby district. I heard a few came over to our district an bought some food, so I'll return the favor." Rocky turned around and galloped at full speed towards the direction of the districts. Scarlett could barely see the red flag waving in the wind. She looked down at the snow bluff and looked up at the sky and the clouds that they were passing by "I wish Endrykas would just stay the way it is in Fall. Cool but not freezing."

Rocky reached the path that lead into the districts and slowly flowed in with the rest of the crowd.

Just two simple things to note that will greatly ease things for you in the future. First, it would be much appreciated if you could label the type of sword you use so it can make assigning experience that much easier. Different sword types require different skills and thus can't be all covered by using swordsmanship as a skill. Also when threading it is important to play close to your skill level, and to know what exactly you are battling. In all of your skills you are novice, and while that is not a bad thing it means that your not ready to take on wild creatures that can very well kill you, and certainly not a glass beak. To pull from the lore on the creatures, they are 7-8 feet tall on average, and weigh anywhere from 250-400 lbs making it a formidable kill for a party of hunters. Add on to the fact they usually travel in packs, and more than likely at least a few males and females would be guarding the nest and you have quite the death trap for a lone woman on horseback. This is not so much of a criticism but rather something to help you with future threads and to enhance the over all realism for yourself and other players posting with you. If you have any questions just send me a pm.
