Genesis (aka Genny) Basic Information Race: Human Birthday & Age: 73 Spring 494 AV (17 years old) Gender: female Physical Description Genesis, or Genny as her mother calls her, has extremely dark hair that seems to have hints of blues and green in the long waves. Her eyes are an emerald green that always seem to look at everything intensely. Standing at only 5’2” and 103 ibs. Her features have a tormented look about them, her lips are thick and usually parted, and she always seems to stare out at people without giving them a hint of her own thoughts. She has the Divination’s lilly mark on her side. Character History Throughout Genesis's life, she has never had it easy. She was born in Alvadas, the City of Illusions. Living there isn't easy for anyone; the roads and buildings are constantly shifting and trading places. The city is located at the beginning of the Kitrean mountain range on the edge of the Suvan Sea. Perhaps the geography, or maybe it was the big wall that surrounded them, left Genesis growing up feeling confined and trapped. Alvadas nurtured the study of arts in it's citizens. Being born with the gnosis of Avalis, it was easy for her to develop her divination. She learned how to palm read very young and would use her mark to deliver extremely accurate fortunes. The money was never enough to support herself and her sickly mother. Natara, her mother, developed an untreatable disorder shortly after Genesis was born. Natara's savings were spent before her daughter turned 10. They lived in poverty, never having enough to eat. One of the darkest parts of her life was the years following her 13th birthday. Genesis had always looked older than she was, but when she hit puberty the male attention she received was alarming. It began with one man taking advantage the child and spiraled into a door of hope for both affording her mother's medicine, and being able to eat. Until her mother's death, they got by on the money Genesis could earn with fortune telling and prostitution. It was a rough life, Genesis turning deeper and deeper into herself every month. Natara died Spring AV 210. Genesis grieved for weeks before she felt the familiar calling of her mark. She sold what she couldn't carry and left Alvadas with a vow to never sell her body again. Almost two years of wandering led her to Ravok's gate. Character Concept Genesis was a private soul. Not once in her life had she allowed herself friends to rely on. She could be sweet and charming, it was part of her job and her past, but she would never let anyone in. She was reclusive, distant, and untrusting which kept people an arms length away always. A major reason she kept people out of her life was her divination. Genesis found herself emerged in the chavi of nearly everyone she touched. If she allowed herself to care about someone, she didn't know if she would be able to handle seeing all their dark pasts. She couldn't let herself become attached for fear of making the nightmares worse. Behind her carefully constructed walls, Genesis was a dreamer. She wanted companionship like she saw in other's pasts. If she could manage to find someone who didn't care that she would know their deepest darkest secrets the moment they kissed, and someone who wouldn't mind never being able to hide a thing. She wanted to fall in love, but it was so hard to do when you knew each and every one of someone's faults and mistakes. One of the most important things one should understand about Genesis was that she lived her life with everything she truly wanted just out of reach.
