Physical Appearance
Retananil may be short, but none can mistake her for being weak because of it. Her five foot tall body is supported by a heavy bone structure and strong muscles. Her right arm, which is also her dominant one, is even further reinforced. Her arm is the colour of silver-veined amethyst and is quite large compared to her left arm. The skin of the rest of her body is bluish, criss-crossed by the same veins as her purple arm.
Retananil has dark green eyes overshadowed by a heavy ridge across her brow and framed by blue-black eyelashes that couple with the blue-tinged colour of her thick black hair. Her lips are surprisingly red against her skin, but they rarely ever quirk up in a smile.
Retananil wears a shirt and skirt usually, and dresses finely when she feels the need. She is almost always scowling, especially when dealing with people who aren't Isur. Her voice comes off as cold constantly.
Character Concept
Retananil is prideful and arrogant, suspicious and mean. She doesn't trust others, and isn't one to sympathise with 'lesser' people. She, like many of her kind, believe that they and their god was betrayed during the Valterrian and this betrayal has earned them her anger, subtle though she may try to make it.
She is passionate about work, though, particularly her own. She is particularly find of.music and instruments and even though she dislikes other races on sight, she has offered prayers to the God of Music, Rhaus. She hopes to gain his blessing as well so her craft can grow better. This is essentially why she consorts with humans and the like and why she bothered to learn Common.
The way Retananil views others isn't close to respectful. She scorns them for lacking the gifts of Izurdin and often makes snide remarks about their appearances in Isur, often quite loudly. She is painfully polite when she speaks Common, however, if still cold sounding.
Retananil likes to pretend she knows less Common than she lets on.
Character History
Retananil was born several years ago in Sultros. In her idealistic childhood, she first experienced music played by a man of some skill and fell for it. The years following were spent learning the crafting of weapons of war and, on the side, devices of sound. She was resolved to leave Sultros to better her craft at the making of instruments, all but abandoning her own weapon craft.
And so Retananil left Sultros, in her late thirties, and her family with promises to return and stepped out into life outside of the sheltered city, finding her way to Syliras where a woman marked by Rhaus himself works.
