There was nothing but grass and sky and in between it, them. She could feel every heart beat in the hooves underneath her as they trampled the long stalks of grass under them. Each breath echoed her horse's breath as they galloped along. She couldn't allow herself to think about the fact that the ground was moving rapidly along beneath her and that if he should stumble on a rock she might very well be ejected from her perch on the yvas.
The thought jolted her from the easy rhythm that she had settled into and, like magic she was bouncing uncomfortably on Jevah's back, scrambling to regain her rhythm. The first thing she had to do was stop herself from panicking. Jevah knew what he was doing. Clamping her legs to his sides and sitting back, she tryed to transfer as much of her weight as she could, as she gently pulled on the Strider's reigns. He responded slowly and unwillingly to her signals to slow down, snorting and pinning his ears back before easing into a trot, then a walk and chewing frustratedly on his bit.
She sighed and released the tension on the reigns.
Quick as a bolt Jevah was off. Completely relaxed and unaware of her mount's plans to be somewhere else, she fell, rolling head over heels off of the horse's rump and landing with an "Oof!" onto her stomach in the flattened grass. Jevah galloped a few metres off before half turning to look at her with big brown eyes that pratically screamed "Look at this face, you couldn't possibly be angry with me.
Alina groaned and let her head fall back into the dirt. It was going to be one of those days.
