Posting Music

Alright Mizahar. My name is Kale, and I'll be the pilot for this thread. Please keep your arms, legs, tails and various other appendages in the thread for the duration of the thread, so I don't get sacked. Thank you.

My question for you is: What style of music do you listen to while writing for your threads? Do you listen to different music depending on what is going on?

Example: For standard meet and greets, I listen to something with a steady pulse. It keeps my WPM up and my mind on task. Mostly end up with Deadmau5, Mt Eden, Calvin Harris, and Dieselboy. If I am writing about a fight scene, I go with epic orchestral pieces like Requiem for a Dream, and various movie scores. Anything romantic, and I listen to Sinatra, Dean Martin, Louis Armstrong, Nat King Cole, etc.

How about you guys?

Traditionally, when I write, I listen to French music and/or international jazz. I put my Pandora on the Carla Bruni station and see where it takes me. Some of my favorite artists are Billie Holiday, Zee Avi, Carla Bruni, Madeleine Peyroux, Esperanza Spalding, etc. etc.

I always put on one of two pandora stations. It's always either my rock station, because well, I like rock. Or, I put on my epic soundtrack station, for some nice LOTR esque music. It's usually the latter however, as that sort of music is just inspiring and helps me put some higher quality work!

I'm a rock and indie boy at heart... but that's not what I listen to when I write strangely.

I listen to much more random stuff, from Einaudi piano pieces, to folk music. It inspires me better

If I'm posting, the music I listen to can't have lyrics unless its latin or sung by a choir, as then I just want to sing along, and my writing halts. So for posting, I normally turn to music that has come off the soundtrack to a movie or video game.

And if the mood is right, I find Celtic music helps me focus on writing.

Mostly electronic music. Alot of house and instrumentals.

I usually post without music, however, if there is music playing, it is usually rock, indie, alternative, techno, classical, country, 80s, um.. just about anything other than rap. Whatever happens to be playing at the moment.

Metal. All there is to it. Metallica gets me through a lot of intense action posts, but I switch over to zz top for of the more social threads. Finally I listen to orchestra and classical for the more touching posts, especially moonlight sonata.
