Night Flight (Sapphire)

A terrible encounter with wolves in the night.

While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

Night Flight (Sapphire)

oocISorry about earlier, a bunch of people showed up at the house @_@

That’s when it hit Mok like a cudgel to the head! The wolves were incoming fast and he had no plan. Certain doom was creeping over his shoulder.

His mind went blank. His heart stopped. Mok was now face to face with death. Now the darkness in his heart was not enough to overcome this situation. The hatred in his heart was destruction. It was pain and despair. What Mok needed was love. Love creates. It is the substance of life. The myrian had a love. No it was not a woman or a companion, but his brothers in the Crimson Edge. They were his new family. A gang that baptized its members in the fountain of blood known as Sunberth. They lived in total anarchy and total love of each other, brotherly love.

Teammates for life. Comrades until the bitter end. There was none other than he trusted.

The rest of them...can roast alive!

Mok knew what he had to do. He needed to embrace the situation. There was no flight, only fight. It’s time to do it. He found his love. His life. He had something to fight for.

Sapphire and the bloody Crimson Edge would live to fight another day.

The myrian whipped the blood off of his blade and went to work on the next wave. He at least had a few minutes. There was no way they would send another wave that quick. For the moment, Mok had time on his side.

Running deeper into the cave Mok found a pile rocks and began to grab them and throw them into another pile under cover near the mouth. That way the myrian had room to write and he could change his fighting location.

He hid in the shadows. As soon as the wolves where within range Mok would fire. As a boy Mok had thrown stones with the boys of the jungle. He could never out throw his peers, but that didn't matter anymore. Right now it was all about hitting a petching wolf. He could do that.

Taking his place in the shadows, Mok waited. Something was wrong.

Silence. Then, nothing. The myrian still didn't move. No howling. No noises. No wolves.

Slowly, Mok began to cool down. His mind had been racing for the last couple of hours. His body was trying to tell him to relax, but he couldn't. The warrior realized now that what just happened was insane. He had gambled it all. He had thrown everything down on the line to kill these wolves. He was lucky because of these wolves were stupid and starving. If it had been any other situation, Mok would more than likely be dead.

Gripping his sword, the half-blood recollected the terrible flight that just occurred. He couldn't believe it. Two days out of Sunberth and already this.

Eventually, the myrian cooled down. This whole time he hadn't said a word to Sapphire. Finally, Mok broke the silence.

"Sapphire," he whispered, "The wolves have retreated for now. Your next move is your call. Do you think it is possible for you to stand and walk? Or shall we take our chances here tonight?"

Night Flight (Sapphire)

Postby Sapphire on February 24th, 2012, 1:28 am

Sapphire had absolutely no clue what had just happened. There was no way that that could be the last of the wolves. She didn't care though, all that mattered to her was that it was over for now. Mok was saying something to her but she was to exhausted to think. She merely stumbled towards him and shifted between her two forms like a small dog figuring out how to use the doggy door. Their in, their out, their in, their out. Finally settling on her normal human form she lazily fell towards Mok. She didn't even care if she slammed her head in to the ground, at least she could rest.

Night Flight (Sapphire)

oocI think we are done here. If you could send me a PM with the skills/lores you want to request from grading, Ill post it in Inks office tomorrow. I will also work on getting the other thread up as well!

Sapphire flopped to the ground and passed out in exhaustion. The myrian knew that she deserved to sleep and he would not deny that to the kelvic.

Waiting in silence for a minute longer, the myrian proceeded with the nightly chores that still needed to be done. He couldn't just leave the tiger in this vulnerable position. No, he needed to help as much as possible. As his blood began to cool down and his mind began to relax, the half-blood ordered his next priorities: fire, food, and safety. Although his body was more relaxed now, his mind was still on survival mode. No time for thinking.

First things first. Taking his worn out sword in hand, Mok proceeded directly around the cave to find some firewood. Quickly, the myrian grabbed some fuel; five or six fat maggots. Next he gathered the kindling. Grabbing some twigs and dry grass, Mok had gotten the necessary ingredients for a roaring fire. Returning to the camp, the warrior went straight away to work. Taking his woodsman's ax, he chopped up one of the faggots into tinder.

Next, was to build the fire. Using the fuel wood as the base, Mok began to lay out pieces of tinder across the fuel. Unlike, the fuel wood, the tinder was cut into smaller pieces to make it easier to get the fire roaring. Once it was going, Mok wouldn't need to cut the wood anymore. Finally, the warrior added the kindling and he began to spark it with his flint and steel. Minutes into his endeavors he was able to get a roaring fire going. He also had enough fuel to keep Sapphire warm throughout most of the night.

Food was the next part of the game. He needed to eat a meal himself and offer some to the kelvic. Opening his bag, Mok quickly scarfed down some cheese and bread. He couldn't feed this to the tiger though. If Sapphire awakened, she wouldn't need to find any food, but only eat the carcass of the wolf that had fallen only feet away from her. The food situation was cherry.

Finally they needed safety. Mok really did not know how to provide safety. In fact, he didn't even think it could be safe in the cave. He had no idea what the wolves were doing, but he had a feeling deep inside that they would not attack again. They were starving, but they were not stupid. They would wait until they had a better opportunity to strike, for the myrian and the kelvic had shown that they could fight even in vulnerability.

Lying down on the opposite side of the fire, Mok took his well-deserved rest from all the fighting. His mind was still shell shocked and his body was exhausted. There would be no thinking tonight. Only alert sleep. He would deal with his new friend in the morning.
