While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

oocHey folks this first post is role call. I will be posting the next post in a week. If you havent posted your entrance by that point, then I am going to close it off. also you need to bring food, your weapons, and a woods man's ax. If the date doesnt work for you send me a pm.

Spring 14, 10 minutes before dawn, a hidden valley full of lumber two days walk from Sunberth.

Today's goal was simple: it was to get a sweat going and to do some solid work. Today's goal was twofold; gather some wood and train their bodies to become stronger and more powerful. The myrian had wanted to train for some time and this time he would invite all his comrades to the gambit. Together they could draw strength and inspiration from each other. It would be help the recruits learn some mental toughness. Today he would teach everyone how to overcome their own mind. They would learn how to draw on each other's strengths to overcome physical torture. Today people would start bonding. Today they would go through strife together in order to overcome physical and mental torture.

The half-blood leader hoped that everyone would grow together today, gain physical strength, and mental toughness. If not, then at the very least they would progress towards gaining power.

On a side note, Mok explained thoroughly to everyone he invited to the training. There was NO room for excuses. It was going to be tough, and the myrian was going to push them ALL to the limits of their physical capabilities. Hell, he would be doing the same himself. He would only take people that were one hundred percent certain they wanted to proceed. There would be no crying and whining. None tolerated.

~~~
It wasn't even dawn yet and the myrian sat at the top of the hill west of Sunberth. Next to his body were a dozen coils of ropes which he had picked up from the city the day before. With his trusty woodsman's ax next to him, Mok nibbled on some dry bread. Today was going to be tough and he wanted to have a good amount of energy before he started. He hoped that everyone brought their own food. If not, then they were probably going to pass out.
The first beams of sunlight pierced the heavens and began to softly illuminate the surroundings. The location was perfect; a rolling hill with a nice thick forested wall that divided the next hill. It was a miniature valley of good lumber. To top it all off, a stream went through the area as well. Mok couldn't have asked for a better spot.
Now he only waited for everyone to show up. They had camped about an hour away the night before. Now he would see how would truly wake up and meet up for their work. He wouldn't wait forever though. Once the sun was completely up he would start.
Lusa shifted from foot to foot nervously as she approached Mok from the direction of the camp. She had not known the members of the Crimson Edge long, and as well it had only been a week since her unfortunate encounter with slavers. She hoisted her pack higher on her shoulder and rubbed her abdomen absently; it still ached somewhat from the ordeal.
She had been glad for her job with the Carver brothers, since it saved her having to buy a woodsman's axe. She had panicked slightly when Mok had informed them that the tool would be needed, until she remembered that woodcutting was her job, and that she would likely be able to borrow one. One of the transient workers had been kind enough to let her use his spare for the time being.
She had also been told to bring food; she had taken this order seriously, and had prepared several hardy snacks; dried vegetable squares and crusty bread, and several strips of dried meat for others who might need it. She had also filled her waterskin to the brim, having a feeling that she would be needing all the water she could get.
She approached Mok and seated herself a short distance away, greeting him silently and enjoying the early morning air before the work began.
Leon's form was silent, dressed in the black of night, as he moved towards the place Mok stood. He stepped past the male, a thief to the end, silent as he made his way to stand opposite of Mok, desiring this training task. He needed to increase his skills with his fists, and with flux, his hidden art. Very few people actually knew that he could tap into the energy lines of his body, using flux to increase his strength and speed, but he also knew the risks. Use too much, and you risk being crippled. Still, this did not stop him as he stood next to a tree, watching Mok. His waterskin was hidden within his cloak, which would be deposited on a tree branch when the training began.
Other then Mok, only a single other person stood nearby. A female, who seemed to be here for the training as well. Leon kept an eye on both, ready for any tricks that may yet come his way. Expect The Unexpected, his mother had said.
[Western Wilds Of Sunberth] Hard Work Pays Off! (CE)
Postby Vuil on April 4th, 2012, 2:55 am
There was a calmness in the minutes before dawn that was unmatched by anything else in the world. That moment where the moon clung to the edge of the horizon, desperate to glimpse the sun as she rose to kiss the skies. The woman found herself walking in those brief moments, the sky a mix of rapidly lightening blues and violet as she made her way along the grassy hills toward the spot the man mentioned. She hadn't been bothered to remember all the names of those she ran with these days, not unless they became important for her to remember.
The kelvic gave a yawn, arms slung lazily over the axe that rested on her shoulders. She wasn't sure what to expect from this "training", but hopefully it involved swinging the axe at something living. She could do with a nice target to swing at. She spied three figures waiting, adjusting her pack more securely as she quickened her pace. The man who had instigated this whole training fest was here, along with the girl who had been taken a week ago. It made sense that she'd want to become stronger after that incident. The third figure was someone she hadn't seen before, lurking along the trees like a thief. Her green eyes narrowed, watching him cautiously as she came to seat herself by the other female, setting her pack gently in the grass beside her.
The dark haired female gave a nod to the male, before turning her attention to the girl beside her. "How are you feeling?" she asked, her head cocked to one side. For the most part, the woman looked alright. Maybe a bit nervous.
