Krivak was in his stall, about to start munching on some tasty oats, when a smell wafted over him. He drew in several deep draughts, enjoying the strange smell that was now luring him out of the stall. He mosied on down the hall between the stalls, that glorious odor dragging him along. He followed it out of the stable and continued onward through the bitter morning snow. The smell had pulled him to a large building he'd never been in before. He was now glad he had his pack hanging from his neck like usual, so people wouldn't treat him like one of the dumb stabled animals. He nudged open the door, and stepped into the massive room. There were tables and people everywhere. And the lovely smell of food filled every inch of it.

Krivak saw a line of people who didn't have food yet, and knew it to be a grazing order. So he mooed cheerfully and got into last place. In a normal grazing order he would eat after the calves, but this was not his herd. He saw several people staring at him, since animal's probably didn't often come in here. But many saw the pack from his neck, and knew he was one of the more special ones. As the line slowly moved forward, Krivak was growing hungrier and hungrier. There was a table right next to the line, and the man there was eating a soup. Krivak wondered if this was what was being served. His snout moved over to above the soup and sniffed in deeply. It was divine. He began to drool at the thought of the meal, not noticing the drops of spittle landing in the man's soup. He turned away and moved up with the line. The poor man looked violated, but thankfully a friend offered him his own soup. Krivak was growing antsy as he neared the head of the line.

My Soup Smells Like Yak (Eliahexestria)

Postby Eliahexestria on January 1st, 2012, 4:58 pm

Eliahexestria stood in the line, glaring at the people in the room. He would have left this place ages ago, had it not been so cold outside. He was in his human form, donning fine looking clothes and a well groomed short black hair. The only thing about his form that made people take second guesses at his race, were his shortness, beady black eyes and if he would have opened his mouth, his rat like frontal teeth. This.. horrible flea ridden place, was not worthy of his presence. He was sure it had fleas. Somewhere. Eliahexestria twitched his nose, forgetting momentarily that he was in his human form. Why should he pay for this.. gruel they were serving as 'food'? It was not worthy for a half-prince

He heard someone whine his name from behind him. Of course, his parasite of a twin was trying to catch his glorious attention. Eliahexestria couldn't see his twin, due to there being no handy mirrors. Judging by the pathetic whine, he wanted to shift positions.

'Listen Chris. I am the leader here, which means I get to look in this direction.' Eliahexestria said in a voice so full of himself most people would want to tear him apart now.

'Eli, didn't we talk about this already? ... and the man behind us doesn't like me staring at him.' Chris replied, his voice lowered to a whisper at the end of the phrase. Oh how he hated being stuck together with Eliahexestria sometimes, but he also knew of his bothers attitude, so it was best to keep complaints inside his mind.
The only private part of me., he though miserably.

'I'm sure the man would like your pretty face more' Chris tried again, seeing as Eliahexestria hadn't taken notice of him. The praise seemed to work. It always did.

Eliahexestria laughed a rather wheezy laugh and, bumped Chris with his elbow, a hint that the process could begin. Slowly, working together they turned so that Chris was facing the desk where someone was selling, and Eli was staring at the man being them.

'My, my aren't you a lowly being.' Eliahexestria began as he saw the simple man, queuing for most likely some of the soup that seemed to be rather popular. He wanted to snap that mans neck and feast on his innards. He was not worthy of his nearly godly presence, in anyway. It made him angry just to see him, standing so simply there. Like the moron he was. Eliahexestria let out a small snort.

'Get out of my eyes fish face.' Eliahexestria had hit a weak spot. He knew it from the way the man rushed off from the line, shedding small tears. Chris had been right! This position was way funnier. His beady eyes scanned the area, searching for the next person to enter the queue. He heard Chris let out a sigh, but ignored it bluntly.

That's when he spotted it. A yak. A filthy yak, coming to get some soup. This was rich... this was going to be so fun. He clattered his rat-like teeth in excitement, keeping an eye on the yak. Being a kelvic himself, he knew this was one aswell. The look in those eyes was too intelligent to belong to a regular yak. Eliahexestria cringed his nose as he saw the yak slobber in someone plate. He would have already given the kelvic a firm stab, had he been that man with his soup..

As Krivak settled down on the line, facing directly at Eliahexestria, Eli felt his time had come.
'Sooo. cowboy, what brings you here? Ain't the hay in that direction?' Eliahexestria snickered and nodded his head to the direction of the stables. He might as well have some fun with this encounter. It was nearly double the fun when he felt his servants back shiver a bit, quite possibly aware that there could be a fight any time soon. Making Chris nervous was all the more fun.

My Soup Smells Like Yak (Eliahexestria)

Postby Krivak on January 1st, 2012, 7:06 pm

As Krivak moved up in line, constantly sniffing at the delectable taste in the air. He saw two strange, small mousy fellows standing back to back moving around awkwardly. They had just run off a calf of a man, leaving himself to fill in the gap. He had noticed the men were joined at the hip, literally. It wasn't the first time he'd seen something of the sort, but back in Ravok, those kinds typically didn't live long past birth. Krivak figured he'd ignore him, he seemed like one of those predator types. And Krivak was not real fond of predators.

Then in a voice that sounded both snide and mousy, the half of the strange pair began talking to him. It was in the common tongue, but the insult fell on deaf ears. What is a cowboy? Hay is for horses. This idiot doesn't even know what yaks eat. He continued ignoring any more attempts from the man until it was his turn to get his food. If money was needed, the cooks could take it from his bag. At first they were confused by the sight of a yak, but soon realized what he was. One of them carried a bowl of soup, an apple, and some bread to an empty table, and Krivak followed hungrily.

The man moved a chair away for him, and Krivak filled in the space, grunting in appreciation. He began lapping up the soup, beads of liquid flowing down his chinhairs. Most of the people had stopped staring at him by that point. The soup was extremely delicious and savory. He then chomped a good chunk out of the bread, so soft and fluffy. He mooed happily as he continued his meal.

My Soup Smells Like Yak (Eliahexestria)

Postby Eliahexestria on January 2nd, 2012, 3:41 pm

Eliahexestria stood there, stunned shaking with anger. He was supposed to win! Not that miserable filthy yak. Was the creature really that stupid? ... or could it have been a regular yak. It sure didn't look like one, nor behave like one. Eliahexestria shoved his hand in his pocket, feeling the blade of his dagger. His eyes cought the yak, happily eating some of the bread. A wave of anger shook through him. Eliahexestria felt a sharp sting of pain in his hand, as the anger had caused him to tighten his grip on the blade of the dagger, causing a rather nasty wound on his hand. Eliahexestria uttered a loud curse and took his hand out from his pocket, before it would mess up his clothes.
This was all the yaks fault, had he not been here, his hand wouldn't have been wounded like this.

'Chris, are we done?' Eliahexestria screeched, his voice high with anger.

'Nearly.' He could sense Eli wasn't in a good moode at the moment. 'Just a second' He replied, grabbing two bowl of soup. Despite what Eliahexestria had thought of the soup, Chris found it tasty looking, and his sensitive nose could detect a bit of cheese that had been put in it. Chris chuckled a bit, mice and cheese. How stereotypical, but he couldn't help the lure of the sweet smell. He recalled that he used to play around with mouse-traps with Eliahexestria when they were little. Average mouse would have trouble with them, but they were no match for a kelvic rat.
Chris dug his hand in his pocket and placed a silver miza on the table, smiling happily at the lady behind the table.
' Let's go now' Chris said, giving the signal for Eliahexestria to begin walking.

The duo earned rather many odd looks now that people could easily see the truth, and stop assuming they were just standing back by back.

Eliahexestria walked with long steps, closing in on the table Krivak was standing over. Chris had to adjust his calm steps to match his frivolous brothers, spilling some soup on the floor as he went. Every time he was off by just a second, he could feel a sharp tinge of pain shoot up his spine. He knew Eliahexestria was feeling it too, but he seemed so absorbed in his rage that he ignored it bluntly.

As their steps came to a halt, Chris carefully handed Eliahexestria his bowl of soup from behind his back, and Eliahexestria accepted it.

Eliahexestria slammed his bowl of soup on the table, causing a loud thud and some soup to spill over.
'Who do you think you are?! You. will. bow. before. me.' He snarled, shooting a glare towards the yak. It disgusted him how happily that animal was eating his soup. Someone who did not act like he wanted didn't deserve to live.
'You live only because of me. I can kill you right now.' Eliahexestria shouted, grabbing his dagger swiftly from his pocket, pointing it only a few inches off of the yaks muzzle. He could hear people gasping. A vile smile curled on his lips. They would learn to bow before him by the sad fate this kelvic was about to face.

Chris heard his brother speak. Uttering a silent curse in his mind he dropped his bowl of soup, letting the cheesy goodness pour on the floor. He was close to tears. He had been so close to getting what made him happy. Good food. Sadly he pulled out his dagger, mainly so he could defend if any guards would come and try to pull him or Eliahexestria away from each other.

'Don't listen to him.' Chris said, hoping his plead would be caught by the yaks ears.

My Soup Smells Like Yak (Eliahexestria)

Postby Krivak on January 8th, 2012, 3:20 pm

As the mousy men slammed a bowl of soup, Krivak stopped his eating. Now he was annoyed. Then one of them began to give him orders... Him! As a proud bull, he would not tolerate orders from such a weakling. Krivak then saw him pull out a tiny dagger. Krivak nearly grunted in humor. A dagger so puny would barely hurt him. Even if he could get the dagger through all the fur, both the thick dreaded layer, and the thick matted lair, he still had a thick layer of fat that acted both to keep him warm, and protect him from horns of other yaks. So Krivak wasn't worried over injury.

Krivak would not be intimidated by such a worthless foe. He sent a challenging bellow, deep, strong, and booming at his opponent. He could hear people getting worried, and he himself didn't want to get the nice people here hurt. So he lowered his head, his horns, which were much longer and thicker than the dagger, pointed at the men. Then he began the slow push forward, threatening the men with goring while trying to lead them backwards and out the door. If they were going to cross horns, they were going to do it outside. Even if the mousy man stabbed or slashed at his neck, his dagger wasn't long enough to hit anything vital, and it would just further enrage Krivak. Krivak would continue pushing at the man until they were outside. He heard a woman scream outside for the Icewatch. Krivak knew there would be trouble now, if the man kept up his pompous attitude.

I believe I can safely say that this is the only time I will see a Siamese twin character that also shifts into Siamese rats. Interesting!
