Day 64 of Summer, AV 511 Bronze Woods, Near the Bronze Watchtower |
Running Wild! Eldon was doing it! Vanah galloped swiftly underneath him as he fled from Syliras, and even though he knew it was only a temporary hiatus from those dark terrible stone walls, he felt as though he was almost back home, almost among his friends, his family, his pavilion, and riding across the plains with nothing but the wind there to fight against his hasty departure. Even though the plains were actually the Bronze Woods, and Vanah was forced to run at a half speed just to keep from tripping up and breaking a leg. Eldon wouldn't forgive himself if she did that. Still, that casual riding, it felt so wonderful, just to get away from Syliras long enough to breathe fresh air, feel the warm breeze on his faintly shadowed face, to feel Vanah's excitement as his own, it was wonderful. So wonderful that Eldon regretted remembering that he actually came to the woods for a reason, to re-familiarize himself with his weapons. The spear, the axes, he had learned to use his hands for pleasure and relief of pain, via massage of course, but he was worried he was losing his touch with the Drykas, the hunter, the predator instincts he was gifted with at birth. Eldon lowered himself down from Vanah's back, assuming he was plenty enough away from Syliras now to avoid any unwanted Knightly attention, and retrieved his weapons. One spear, double edged with a piercing head on either end, and two simple axes, small, and aerodynamic. |
