It was a beautiful day, which was a rare thing for spring; even rarer for the wild ride of a year it had been. After the worst winter the city had seen in years, the bright sunshine, strong even in the early morning, was beginning the process that would heat the rocks that made up Wind Reach until everything was cozy and warm.

A cliche sort of happiness bubbled around in Addy's chest as she watched Sira and their daughter from a distance; an all-is-right-with-the-world type of joy that releases enough happy endorphins to make you absolutely stupid with bliss. The birds sang peppy melodies from betwixt newly bloomed leaves that danced and jigged in the wind. The grass was green(ish), the bees were buzzing (though a little too close for comfort) and Addy had even sat down in a small, dry patch of sand-like dirt at the waters edge. And it didn't even matter.

Life with Natalie had started out rough. The birth of their daughter had been a mixture of emotions, most of which Addy had been detached from at the time; the healer inside of her dominated the process to ensure both Sira and the babies survival. The wonder, shock, and joy had come later, her emotions inversely proportional to her lovers immediate joy that had slowly dwindled to an exhausted sort of detachment. An understandable reaction to the rather traumatic event that is birth.

But now here they were, frolicking in the sunshine without a care in the world. These observations floated idly through Addy's mind as her fingers found a wisp of hair and began to twist the dark strands into a plait, bright gaze following the little Kestrel that was her daughter as she dipped and swerved through the air. It was hard to tell exactly what the little Kelvic girl was doing, especially from her position on the lakes shore, but she nonetheless watched with rapt attention. Sira, however, seemed to know exactly what was going on, leaving Addy with the easy job: Cheerleader.

Taking subtle cues from Sira, the litte woman would bound to her feet and jump around, clapping her hands and cheering her daughters name. The praise had a visible effect on the child who, after what Sira had informed her later was a particularly hard maneuver for someone with her skill level, zoomed towards her tiny red-headed mother, landing at her feet and puffing out her feathers as she did her best attempt at a strut.

"Oh, you still girl! Good Job, Natalie! Mommy is proud!"

The cooing continued for a several more chimes, much to Natalies delight. The child was clearly spoiled, flattered beyond comprehension and still having yet to show any symptoms that she was worse for wear from it. Some of their fellow Inartan's had frowned upon the way Sira and Addy coddled their child, but they just couldn't comprehend that the little girl who darted around everyones feet, looking to be around six years old, was barely more than a toddler age-wise. Blessed with her Mother's Kalvic heritage, Natalie would grow faster than anyone could have imagined.

Shooing her daughter away and back into the sky, Addy reclined back onto her elbows and took a few moments to herself, forgoing the cheerleader facade. Sira was teaching their child important life lessons, things the little girl would need to know in order to properly traverse the skies. Wrapped in a guise of fun and games, Natalie had no idea the physical and mental training she was being put through; it had been all Sira's idea, while Addy herself had struggled for days after Natalie had revealed herself to be Kelvic, trying to decide the best wait to teach her.

A warm, soft and familiar weight threw itself onto her chest, knocking her down onto her back and into the dirt.

"Natalie!" Her voice was a gentle chide as she tried to grab hold of the squirming little girl and sit up, "You know I don't like dirt!" The response was a devilish little giggle and a clod of the stuff squished against her right cheek.

"Oh! I'm gonna get you!" A wild shriek as the girl tumbled from Addy's lap, scrambling for her feet in order to dash away from her mothers idle threat. Green hues flickered to where Sira stood above them, a playful frown tugging the corners of her lips.

"You put her up to that, didn't yo-" The sentence was never completed, green eyes wide as Addy took in the look on Sira's face; a distint sort of panic lingered beneath the surface emotion of a controlled, blank expression. Rising slowly as to not alert Natalie that there might be something wrong, Addy reached out to place a gentle hand on Sira's arm.

"We need to go. Now." The crisp command in the woman's voice snapped Addy's spine straight. As Endal and Rider, it was Aidara who gave the commands, not the other way around. It was a good thing, then, that their relationship was completely unusual in more ways than just that. Sira could give a command, and Addy would listen, Endal or not.

"Natalie, to me." Holding out her hand, voice low and firm, it was only a matter of seconds before the light pressure of a tiny hand found it's way in to Addy's comparatively large one. In one well practiced motion, the child was scooped and balanced upon one hip.

"Momma?" Came the soft whisper.

"Shhhhh, Sweetiepie, it's okay." A hand reached to soothingly smooth the vibrantly red curls that covered the little girls head. "We're just going to go home early." Something churned at the very bottom of Addy's gut, leaving a sour taste in her mouth. Something was... wrong. Just... wrong.

Sira? Pause. Wait. Sira, is everything okay?

The silence seemed to drag on forever.

Take Natalie and go home. Immediately, Aidara! The command was crisp and taut with barely controlled fear.

Petch.

"We're going to play inside for a bit, Sweetheart. Okay?"

Something in the tone of her mothers voice made Natalie instantly aware that something wasn’t right; the little girl normally put up a stink when playtime was over, preferring to be rolling around in the dirt and grass than cooped up in her parents aerie. Perhaps she had heard Sira’s command as well, but either way the little Kelvic girl was at her mother’s side in a flash, tiny fingers gripping Addy’s outstretched hand.

“Momma?” Concern piqued the little voice, red curls falling across Natalie’s face as she tilted her head to catch her mothers eyes, her own bright with what concern a child could muster.

“It’s alright, Nat. We are going to have a race, okay? First one back home gets a surprise!” Having a child had definitely taught the healer to think on her feet and better control her emotions. The things that an infant could pick up on had shocked and awed both the women. Addy had to be careful what she said and make sure she didn’t upset her daughter. Dimples peeked from her wind reddened cheeks as Natalie cheered in agreement to this plan. Dropping her hand, Addy poised herself into a comical ready stance, bent in half with her arms held at her sides as if she were already running. Laughing, Natalie copied her mother and waited for the count down.

“Three…two…one…” But before Addy could say go, Natalie shifted into her natural form and zipped off ahead with a trilling chirp that Addy knew was laughter. “That’s cheating!” Even though her daughters attitude was infectious, the warning Sira had projected into her mind, heavily laden with the unspoken, kept the woman from truly enjoying the moment.

Wasting no time, Addy raced after her daughter, keeping an eye on the little Kestrel form as they both zipped through the groups of other Inartan’s that they encountered. It wasn’t until they had almost made it back to the courtyard of the sky that Addy realized that there were a lot of people milling about, whispering quietly to themselves or just staring off into the distance.

Calling to her daughter, Addy slowed her sprint down to a jog and then a walk, stopping beside a group of three men and two women; they had their heads together and they were talking quietly amongst themselves. On any other morning, a similar grouping would result in raucous laughter, flirtation and even friendly wrestling. Ever observant, the contrast bothered Addy deeply, but it wasn’t until something else occurred to her that the realization dropped like a cold stone into the pits of her stomach.

The animals were completely silent.

In only those few chimes, Addy had become as still and silent as the rest of her people, Natalie swooping in to light on her mother’s shoulder, tiny beak nipping worriedly at the lobe of her ear. Before Addy could properly comfort her daughter, everything happened at once.

There was an eruption of sound that, at first, was just a deafening cacophony as it echoed around the silent Courtyard. It wasn’t until the dark, undulating cloud covered the sky that it was made clear what the sound was: Birds. All the birds in and around Wind Reach seemed to have taken to the sky, screaming in what all of them recognized as panic.

Addy didn’t even remember lifting a hand to her own mouth to stifle her gasp, flinching wildly as something tiny rocketed past the tip of her nose. It was only after she was far out of reach that Addy realized Natalie had taken off after the birds. Screaming for her daughter and running to the edge of the Courtyard, the little healer knew she wouldn’t be able to catch the tiny bird. Instead, she opened up the link between them much like she could with Sira; the link wasn’t as strong, but her daughter was close enough that she should still be able to hear.

Natalie! NATA- With a gasp, Addy yelped and covered her ears, as if it could stop the screams that assaulted her mind through the open link.

FLEE FLEE FLEE FLEE Echoing through her mind in time with the other birds cries, Addy was quickly able to deduce what they were all saying. Why her daughter was crying flee, the woman had no idea. That didn’t stop her heart from nearly pounding out of her chest, however, as she watched her daughter disappear into the massive cloud of birds.

Shock held the panic at bay for only a moment or two before the realization at what had happened took the strength from Addy’s knees, turning the bones to water, clutching at a nearby jut of stone was all that kept the little woman from falling flat on her face. Thoughts stirred sluggishly through her mind, the rest of her body unresponsive to the natural cues that suggested she flee as well. Natalie, her tiny wings beating frantically as she was swept up into the flying mob was the only thing she could process.

A sharp stinging across the palm of her hand was all it took to bring her back, the jagged edges of the stone she gripped so tightly scraping away layers of skin as her knees continued to give out; the little piece of rock she managed to grab would only be able to hold her for so long before it gave way under her weight, allowing her face to finally high five the ground.

With an irritated grunt, Addy locked her legs and straightened, idly brushing off her hand on the leg of her bryda; the movement was such a habit that the little woman hardly spared a thought for her cut until her palm began to burn as the action rubbed grit into the new wound. “Petching son of a…” Muttering through clenched teeth as frustration swirled in with the concoction of pain, panic and confusion, Addy glanced around her, hoping that something would give her a clue to what was going on.

A sea of red hair surrounded her, similar to any normal day, except the silence was deafening; a child nearby stood with his tiny hands clasped over his ears, as if to shut out the roaring ruckus that filled the void of silence within their ears. A man clutched a crying woman nearby, their daughter holding onto one of her mother’s legs, also crying while a few others nearby stared vapidly up at the sky. It was the same everywhere she looked. No one was doing anything at all.

Brows sank into a furrow as Addy pushed away from the stone she had collapsed against, weaving between the statuesque individuals in search of someone that could do something, someone that could help. But it wasn’t until Addy had almost completely crossed the Courtyard of the Sky that she remembered. She could do something. She should have taken control of the situation from the moment people had begun to panic. So focused on her daughter’s disappearance, the Endal woman had completely forgotten her duties.

Angry now at herself, Addy strode with purpose towards the nearest stone wall, where a man, Avora by the callouses that covered his hands, leaned gaping at the sky. “Help me up.” A hand was extended with the order, a brow arching as the man gaped at her for a few moments. Anger began to brew behind the confusion in his eyes, a typical reaction for someone who was out of their element or in shock.

“I’m Endal Aidara. Please help me up.” Her tone took on something of a more gentle command as she tried to assuage the fight she saw brewing on the mans face; it wasn’t necessary, though, for the moment the title hit the Avora’s ears, Addy’s hand was taken up in his own as he hoisted her up onto the stones without a single word.

Nodding her thanks, Addy paced along the wall until she stood roughly parallel with the middle of the Courtyard. “Excuse me!” A few heads turned, though most stayed titled towards the sky, mouths agape. “EX-CUSE ME!” Shouting each syllable, Addy cupped her hands around her mouth while she shouted, clapping and stomping her feet until the most oblivious of the Courtyards occupants turned in her direction. Annoyance reflected in almost every face, though Addy didn’t miss the nervous way the crowd shifted from foot to foot or clutched at their partners hands.

“Are you going to tell us what’s going on, or just dance up there?” The shout from the back made the color rise into Addy’s cheeks, immediately stopping the stomping-clapping thing she had been doing as soon as she realized how stupid she looked. Clearing her throat and clasping her hands behind her back in an attempt to make herself look more professional and serious, Addy opened her mouth and…

Was promptly cut off by the same faceless, loud individual. “Well?” There were a few snickers throughout the crowd and Addy’s blush deepened. She was not in her prime, shock still numbing the majority of her emotions as well as random bodyparts. She couldn’t feel her lips, but perhaps it was for the best.

“I am trying to tell you, if you’d just listen…” But there was a wild, shriek that reverberated over the entire mountain as the sound ripped itself from every Wind Eagles throat, tearing away the tenuous hold Addy had on the crowds attention.

After that, it was complete chaos. Screams rent the air, avian and human alike, a heart stopping cacophony of sheer panic and, in the case of the Wind Eagles, pain. Addy stood upon her makeshift stage for a moment or two, staring dumbfounded as the nervous crowd descended into hysteria around her. Once or twice she attempted to call for order, her voice raised to its maximum but even her loudest scream couldn’t break through the fear.

Jumping down from the wall, Addy rushed to the nearest group: A Chiet woman who worked with the Yasi, the very children she was to overlook throughout the day clinging around her legs. A rough shake of her shoulder brought the petrified woman’s gaze up and locked on Addy’s face. The little woman tried to smile, but the expression died miserably on her face and she instead tried to work her features into an expressionless mask. “You! What are you doing out here? Get them inside, now!” Continuing to stare, the Chiet did nothing until Addy hauled on her arm and gave her a great shove; the woman stumbled, the children rushing after her. With her arms windmilling to keep her balance, the woman took a single look over her shoulder at Addy, nodded once and took a child’s hand in each of her own; the group set of at a sprint across the Courtyard, towards the Inner Warrens.

Satisfied that they, at least, were now safe, Addy turned on the spot and tried to take in everything that was happening around her. In only the few ticks that it had taken to get the woman and children moving, everything had changed. A few large men Addy recognized as Endal towered over the crowd, shouting orders that were followed with only slightly more success than Addy’s own shouts. It was a mistake to stop and take her bearings, because as soon as she gave herself a moment to speak, the fear that she had been holding off only by smothering it with her sense of duty quickly overwhelmed and crippled her.

Sira.

With a low moan, Addy sunk to her knees in the courtyard, her hands clamped around her ears as she tried to block out the pain within her head and the noise without; it did little good on either front, but at least her hair was there for her fingers to tangle in and tug at with frustration. So overwhelming was the fear of the unknown, of what was happening to their City, to her lover and to her daughter that there was almost no room for the all the emotions at once.

A rough hand grabbed her shoulder and Addy looked up into a strange face, one of the Endal’s ushering everyone alone that she hadn’t recognized earlier. His mouth was moving and she knew he was shouting at her to get up but her legs just failed to respond. “My daughter… Sira…”

“Endal Aidara, this is no way for you to act. Get on your feet! Now, Endal!” Lifting her bodily, the man shook the little healer, if only slightly, before setting her back down on her feet, keeping one of those strong hands on her shoulder as he bent almost in half to meet her gaze. Dropping his voice to a whisper so that Addy had to strain to hear, his voice exuded as much comfort as he could manage considering the circumstances. “Sira will be okay, Aidara. We need you here, with us. Helping.”

The words stuck home. Addy didn’t even know this man’s name, yet he knew hers. Knew of her talents. Not only that, but she hadn’t sensed even the slightest amount of scorn in his voice when he spoke; he didn’t hold her job as a Healer, an Avora’s job, against her in the slightest. Not trusting her voice, Addy took a deep breath, met the man’s sharp blue gaze and nodded firmly.

It was shortly after Addy regained her wits about her that the Wind Eagles who hadn’t flown off appeared out of what seemed like thin air; one moment, the Inarta handled themselves, rushing too and fro as they all tried to reign in the panic. In the next, the great birds were towering over the sea of redheads, screeching aloud while projecting firm, terse orders into the minds of the crowds.

Addy could see shock on the faces of those who’d never had the privilege of having a Wind Eagle speak directly into their minds before, most of them stopping dead where they walked or fled, head’s swiveling wildly as they tried to find the source of the voice. The Wind Eagles, however, clearly had no time for their charges to stand and marvel at the experience. Wings wide so that their tips nearly touched, the Eagles walked side by side, corralling the crowd as a whole towards the inner hallways and corridors. One of the more elderly Eagles hopped along behind, snapping and squawking at those stragglers that managed to get behind the wing wall, or those that tried to duck loose and run. Addy didn’t realize she just stood, staring, until she heard the wind whistle next to her ear, jumping nearly out of her skin as the great curved beak snapped shut just in front of her face.

Get moving

Sira. Have you heard from Sira?

Forward, Endal. With the others. The voice was tired, soft with apology as the question was blatantly ignored.

Please, I just… But Addy didn’t even get to finish her plead for information, the Eagled turning one of her great, plate-sized golden eyes upon her. It flashed with an unspoken threat: Get moving or else.

Not particularly fond of finding out what the “or else” was, Addy forced her shaking legs into a slow jog, pacing just behind where the rest of the Inartan’s were being ushered. Shadow’s flickered overheard as the Endal who managed to stay with their Eagles gathered and flew down into the Courtyard that was just vacated, landing gathering into a loose circle; there was a hole left on the side closest to where Addy had paused to watch and it took her only a second to realize who it was for. The little healer nearly choked as her heart leapt in her throat. A familiar black goliath of a bird drifted down and settled into the spot left open for him. Catabasis ducked only slightly as an almost exact replica of Addy herself slid down off the glossy ebony back.

“Sai!” So used to her sister handling herself these days, the Flightleader hadn’t even crossed her mind as Addy had tallied those she should be panicking for. The women had grown apart, there was no doubt about that, but it wasn’t for any love lost that Sai had been the last that Addy remembered. It was always the other way around, Sai looking out for her older, more delicate sister.

Without any thought in the matter, Addy instantly reversed her jog and pelted over to where her sister and the Endal she was in charge of gathered, their heads close together. Knowing Sai, they were planning something dangerous, something that would put their lives in jeopardy for the sake of Wind Reach. “Sai! Wait!” No. Her sister couldn’t leave here, too. Alone. Stranded…. "No! SAI!”

The flightleaders head lifted and turned, the wind whipping some of those bright red curls into her eyes. An irritated flick rid her of them but her fierce golden gaze swept right over the little healer. She hadn’t even seen Addy. Cupping her hands to her mouth and taking a great breath, Addy continued her headlong rush towards the group just as they broke apart, grim and serious as they remounted their Eagles. “SAI!”

Her twins head whipped around again just as a giant feathery mass closed in over Addy's face, knocking her from her feet and stealing the air from her lungs. Gasping on her back on the stone of the Courtyard, Addy looked up into the deadly face of the same Wind Eagle that threatened her earlier. “Please, no. I was just trying to get to my sister. She was leaving! I had to get to her!” Much to her shame, tears flooded her eyes, cutting streams through the grime on her cheeks as she sobbed. “Please…”

Cocking her head to the side, the elderly Eagle lifted the wing that pinned her and stepped back without a word. Scrambling to her feet, Addy whipped towards where the Endal had gathered around their Flightleader.

“They’re gone.” Shock colored her tone to barely a whisper as her arms fell limply to her sides. Unsure of exactly how long she stood there, staring, Addy put up no fight as the Eagle hopped into her view and began corralling her along, just like they had done the others. Everything had gone numb.

It must have been bells later that Addy found herself packed into the cave deep within the mountain that normally served as the Inclement Weather. Though all of the furniture and accouterments that usually inhabited the giant space had been shuffled away to make room, it was still extremely cramped; and no wonder, since it seemed as if the cities entire population was packed into the room. The time that passed between when Addy had failed to reach her sister and the moment when she came to thanks to a loud snore in her ear were nothing but a blur to the little woman.

Stuck in one of the alcoves that lined the walls of the Weather, Addy was pressed into a corner with a large, sleeping man on either side. Normally, this would have been the perfect opportunity to have fun but just the thought made her stomach roil. Everything she loved in this world was out there, in the storm. And where was she? Stuck in a corner. Forgotten.

Alone.

It was only by the sheer force of her will and her refusal to sit for goddess knows how long in her own sick that Addy kept herself from hurling everywhere. Somewhere nearby, a baby started crying. Further out in the crowd, a couple of voiced broke the silence as one of the Inartan’s favorite folksongs lifted into the air and it wasn’t long until the entire place echoed with the calming words. Addy managed to free her arms and clamped them over her ears, turning her face into the shoulder of the still sleeping man beside her and just tried to block it all out. She couldn’t even find the littlest shred of hope within her to join the singing.

In the bells that passed, the moods of the captives’ fluxuated from calm, to anxious, to scared and back again. Addy had since fallen in to a listless stupor, the only way she had been able to ignore the fear and worry that ate at her insides. At some point soon after they had all been relocated into Inclement Weather, large booms had started echoing throughout the mountain. The ground beneath them shook violently soon after, the crashing from above only increasing.

Hope quickly began to die, screams of fright and sobs of desperation filling the room and drowning out any song. The could see nothing of what was going on though it felt as if their home crumbled around them. With every violent shake, there was a moan from deep within the stone that surrounded them and it slowly dawned on the gathered Inartans that trapping themselves far within the mountain might not have been a good idea. But there was nothing for it. They were here now.

Addy tried to reach out for Sira and found nothing on the other end each time. Telling herself that she would know if her lover had died, she tried to extend the same awareness that she shared with the Kelvic woman towards their daughter, but with the same success. Nothing.

“Is it just me, or is it hot in here?” Some bells ago, the man beside her had woken up, straightened and, upon realizing how much room he had taken up in his sprawled sleep, shimmied over to give Addy more space. Her head tilted to give a fleeting smile of gratitude had revealed the same Endal that had shook her in the Courtyard. His name was Halvin and Addy soon learned that she had, only two seasons ago, saved his leg from infection and subsequent amputation after a bear attack laid him up for a couple days before he could even get back to the mountain.

Glancing up from where she curled under the strong Endal’s arm, the only sense of security she could find, Addy nodded. “No, it’s hot. Not surprising considering the amount of-“ A gasp tore from her throat at the same exact instant as the rest of the Inartan’s gathered and, as one, they all collapsed.

The silence was thick over the unconscious population of Wind Reach, disrupted only by the violent rumbling of their mountain. It only lasted for barely a chime, however, before the Inartan’s all regained consciousness, arching where they fell as their arms lifted towards the sky at the exact moment the largest quake yet rocked the entire mountain.

As one they all screamed out in sheer pleasure, Addy clutching herself to Halvin’s chest, her body shivering as it languidly rubbed and writhed against the Endal.

As one, the Inartan’s eyes snapped open and their voices broke with the force of the name they all screamed.

“IVAK!”

When Reality Crumbles

Consciousness found her in the Infirmary, though she didn’t remember walking or being brought there. The sickbed was warm and rumpled, meaning she had been there for a bell at least. Groans surrounded her and Addy barely had to lift her head to tell that the sickbay was full to brimming.

“Good…morning?” Turning to see Halvin next to her, Addy managed a smile as she pushed herself up onto her elbows. The Endal looked terrible, his eyes sunken into his face, which had no color whatsoever. Instinct told the healer that she didn’t look much better but neither of them seemed hurt or in any kind of danger.

“What happened?” It felt good to stretch her muscles, driving off the stiffness that came from long periods of time in one position.

“Ivak escaped.” Even before he finished speaking, Addy knew it to be true. It was an odd feeling, being imbued with this knowledge that, until a few bells ago, she had no idea existed. Ivak. The God of Fire.

“Is…. Are there… are we safe?” Though she wanted desperately to just ask about Sira, Addy swallowed her worry and tried to push it away.

“Many of the Wind Eagles died from what I heard. I haven’t been out there to look, myself. I was too busy laying her observing how loudly you snore.” A throaty chuckle killed the relative silence of the room as Addy took a swing at him, unable to restrain the smile that split her features. It seemed like forever since she’d smiled, or laughed… and it hadn’t even been a day. In the face of such fear, such a massive unknown waiting for them outside the Infirmary walls, the laughter was the only thing to assuage the fear. Unable to resist the infectious sound that came from Halvin, Addy clasped a hand over her mouth as the giggles took over, glancing guiltily at the sleeping Inartans that surrounded her.

“There is Wild Djed everywhere.” Once they had laughed themselves out, the pair lay panting on their separate beds, looking at the other from over their shoulder. Sobriety hit them soon after the giggles faded. Addy tried to stop her heart from lurching at his words, only able to nod.

“Prepare yourself for the worst.”

A bell or two later while the Djed Storm raged outside, a trio of figures moved into view. The crowds parted before the group. Akvin, the drummer some knew from the club when it was actually a club and not a djed storm shelter, climbed onto the stage. He picked up his drumsticks and smacked out a beat. He looked should have looked tired and scared like the rest of the crowd, but instead there was something about him that oozed creativity. He rolled another beat across the taught leather drums the second figure along side him climbed to the stage. Rhaus, whom some new as Cedar, joined him on the stage and the two Gods - one as old as time and the other newly made - took up song to calm the people. They would end up singing throughout the night and well into the next day, their voices never failing, as the Djed Storm raged on outside.

A third figure, one with a shock of dark dark molten red hair and a fierce almost eagle-like eye moved among the crowd. Once or twice he paused and touched people, speaking at length to them, before moving on. Everyone else he had a kind word for, a calming touch, and as if a magic spread through the area, emotions calmed and grounded out. The storm raged on outside, but inside people felt slightly better, uplifted, as if an emotional buildup inside of them burst and had drained off. Dek danced with Endals and Avora smiled at Chiet. For that one night, and that one night only, the classes of Wind Reach vanished. The Inartans were united and Ivak walked among them.

Adiara, having no friends and family with her in the club, stood to one side. Her haze of worry and exhausted sense of panic gradually eased as the Azenth who fathered all Azenth moved among them. She might not have noticed what was happening, so great was her shock. But when he stopped before her, his entire fiery vision was focused on her. There was such kindness there. For all that he was the one that had destroyed the world, he was also the one that brought it balance.

"Healer, do not mourn for those you have lost. They have their own pathways to walk and from this day forward some of them will diverge. Your sister has an important task, and though it may bring you no comfort, she will live through this day. Your lover and heart daughter will too. You have and always will be their strength. Whether they know it or not, it is you that give them peace and keep them moving forward in this life."
He reached out then, and captured her wrist. His fingers encircled her arm like a bracelet and she felt something burn painlessly into her wrist. "Take this. Use this. You are Avisata born. I have need of one in this area. Things will not settle for a great long while. And while you heal the flesh of your people, you pehraps should heal the flesh of the world as well. It suites you, I think." He said, and then moved on, having left Aidara with a burning gnosis mark bracelet on her left hand.

The God of Fire, having soon after finished his rounds, joined his two best friends on the stage, sometimes playing an instrument, sometimes singing himself. The trio entertained the Inarta until the danger had passed. Then suddenly, on the second day, they put down their music, ceased their entertaining, and melted off into the crowd, throwing the doors open as they went and inviting folks to leave... that it was safe finally to go outside.

Additional Note: What can I say? An incredibly well written crisis thread where Aidara survives an Unnatural Disaster. Great read. I couldn’t help adding my own two cents into it as well. I hope you enjoyed.
