Griffith, of the tents of Malkyn, of the sons of Benha Refugee of Eyktol Basic Information
Physical Description Of a lean build, Griffith stands at slightly above average height for the Benshira Humans (5' 11"). He sports the hair and eyes his breed is known for: dark brown and lightest hazel, respectively. His hair falls in wavy layers and easily reaches down to his shoulders. He used to be as tan as the rest of his race, but time away from the desert has seen a gradual lightening of his skin tone. His strange mixture of wonder and paranoia at the world around him is rather well hidden, yet one who pays special attention might note that he can often be seen sweeping his gaze about, wanting to miss nothing. Character Concept Griffith is a normally quiet and somewhat reserved man. This quiet does not make him less eager to learn or study, though it does sometimes lead to misunderstandings. This general impression is only reinforced by a natural compassion and humility which seem to be cultivated in the man, in spite of the normally lively nature of the Benshira. He spent a decent part of his time among his own people studying history, and he is at least partially a product of their cultural. He initially distrusted magi, but that opinion has since shifted into only a distrust of magi with whom he is not familiar. In addition, looking into the past has given him a strong hatred of Eypharians, considering them to be elitist, racist pigs for the large part. His adventures outside of Eyktol have thus far done little to convince him otherwise. Character History Griffith was born amongst a group of nomad Benshira, to a family who were descended from Benha, Biyram's honest Son. Even from a young age, Griffith was something of an oddity amongst the Benshira. It was often said that the child should have been born into the sons of Rapa, rather than Benha, for he would rather spend time reading tales of the world than learning to farm or tending to flocks. He even expressed a desire to go out and adventure on his own, in that manner that so many children might. Nonetheless, he was a Benha. He was expected to grow into an honest, devoted, and caring worker, possibly as a shepherd or a carpenter, and so his fellow Benshira, along with his older brother Malkyn, took his dreams with a grain of salt, thinking that the boy would grow out of it and learn to be a "good" Benshira. Life continued for some time, and Griffith's antics persisted until he was twelve. One night, he was left to tend a fire in his family's Tent. He fell asleep, and the fire blazed out of control, burning the shelter down. Malkyn managed to reach a terrified Griffith and drag him out of the Tent, but he was not fast enough to help their parents, who were trapped against a back wall. The agonized screams seared their mark into the siblings' memory, destined to haunt the pair for the rest of their lives. The brothers were taken in by an aunt and uncle, and in the face of the crisis, Griffith seemed to have forgotten his obsession with the outside world and took to learning the ways of the Benshira with a determination pleasing to those who knew him before the incident.
