Season of Spring, Day 6, 510 AV

Aela woke that morning, tangled among the mass of sheets toppling her bed. She laid still, her limbs starting to awake, nestled in the bed's warm embrace. The sun's rays were especially giving and comforting, shining brightly through the small windows in the room forcing the night's shadows to retreat to the confines under the bed. Laying beneath the clumps of fabric that enveloped the bed, she stared blankly through strains of matted hair wildly displayed on her head, as the light engulfed them into a brilliant, blissful serenity. Her eyes, though barely opened, seemed to glow as the light poured into them turning the almond brownness color into a mesh of green. She parted her lips, an invisible mist silently escaped as she turn onto her side looking about the room.

"Is it morning already?"

Aela sighed and buried herself further into the massive covers that enveloped her tiny frame. The soft, plush fabric rolled over her and tickled her legs and feet. The bed was warm and cozy, and the mattress swayed and formed with her movements making her feel as if she were swimming at sea. She listened while drifting off into the comfort that the bed was providing her as she heard footsteps in the hall ways.

"It must be....But it's just too soon."

She pouted and turned over again, as if she were determined to ignore the day and go on sleeping. The day before, like every other day she had spent in the Glass Reverie continuing her apprenticeship with Perith. The days were long and the nights seemed even longer, but she felt pride in her work and had learned to respect Perith a bit more. Still working so late didn't make the mornings come any easier and she always found herself a bit sluggish when getting up.

"Oh..the market..ugh."

Aela sighed again and forced her body to move, throwing back the covers and pushing herself out of the bed. It would be a slow moving process but she would eventually comb her hair and dress herself before heading out. Leaving her room to go outside, she made her way through the hall ways and down the steps. She stepped out onto the ground, the sun shined brightly in the sky, much brighter than it did through the square windows in her room. She squinted as her eyes adjusted to the brightness and felt the warmth of the sun upon her cheeks.

Slowly walking and still tired, Aela made her way into the courtyard. It was less busier than the main market area and provided a place for her to set up her booth to sell items that she had crafted. Perith was very strict with her but he did encourage her to test her own skill at making items and then selling them to the people. It was his idea to come to the market place, but left her to handle the set up on the night before to do alone. Standing beside her booth, she looked around at the other venders who were already set up and to the people slowly appearing to browse their wares.

"Well....here I go."

She smiled as she stepped behind her booth and began to arrange the display to better catch the customers eye. She laid out simple toys, vases, bowls, and beads of all sorts. She would have the day to make the most of this and planned to show Perith that she could do it just as he had. Now the waiting began and Aela hoped that the wait would be short. As the wind picked up the river blue colored canvas fluttered in the breeze, Aela moved her hand through her hair and moved it away from her face as she watched more people enter the market. Soon the place would be over crowded with customers and she hoped that by the end of the day she would have something to show for her hard work.

Casa had this itching feeling she should be working.

Of course, she always felt that way. Glassworking was her natural talent and what made her feel important, special, needed. The feeling made even worse a few short years ago, when she had been apprenticed by Klaro, a man who insisted that with his help she would become a true master at making glass beads. She wanted to be at the ovens, working with her mandrel and liquid glass, trying to create tiny artistic beauties.

However, as Klaro had explained to her yesterday, there was more to making beads then ‘playing with glass’. You’ve got the basics down, but that just means you can put liquid glass on your mandrel. As you have seen, that doesn’t produce very pretty beads. That takes forethought, planning, an idea in your mind that you can bring to life. The easiest way to make these plans is to sketch them out.

So technically this was work…technically. And while Casa would much rather be ‘playing with glass’ as her teacher so politely put it, she felt he had a point. Practicing designing her own beads would be just as important practicing making them; and also, so far Klaro had never steered her wrong.

Having never looked for drawing supplies, she was not sure what stall to start at. She only needed the basics – something to draw on and something to draw with. So she walked slowly among the stalls, large blue eyes taking in the wares placed out for potential customers to be enticed by. She ignored the bustling crowd around her, the shouts in the air. She kept her hands clasped behind her back unconsciously, her fingers tickled by the end of her long, red braid that danced behind her back.

She had dressed in basic clothes – blood red Bryda and dark brown Katinu – in the hopes that if she found the supplies quickly enough she could get some work in before the evening meal. But if she spent all day hunting she would most likely be out of luck. Her face remained impassive, almost bored and reserved. Mostly because this searching was boring work, but also because she was constantly practicing controlling her emotions; something that Klaro insisted was a must for a good glassblower.

Finally she stopped in between two stalls, out of the way of the natural flow of traffic. True annoyance flashed across her face, but she quickly reigned it in; annoyance only got her broken glass. Her hands darted out behind her back, left fingers going to scratch at her right wrist, grazing over an inch long, white scar.

Postby Vaas on May 20th, 2012, 4:59 am

"Kree-eee-ar." screams the hawk from the rafters

Vaas hears the scream of his hawk above him and sits straight up in his bed. He hears the hawk flapping his wings impatiently, and he looks up towards the noise of flapping wings and says in a cross voice, “I love you Wind Dancer, but sometimes I swear you hate me.”

The Wind Dancer looks down at him and fly down to the leather gauntlet on the table. The hawk starts biting at the leather gauntlet as it as he waits for Vaas to get dressed. Knowing his hair is mess but tired to care, Vaas slides out of bed. Also not bothering to put on his pants, He walks over to his cupboard and feels around for the handle. He opens the cupboard and feels around for the jar that holds his bird treats. He takes out a piece of dried meat from the jar, walks over to his end table, and grabs his wood flute. Once he has the flute, he slumps into his chair. He hears Wind Dancer doing his morning routine of abusing his gauntlet. He puts the dried meat in his lap and brings the flute to his lips and blows loudly a certain high notes to get the birds attention. He smiles when he hears the bird stop his assault on his poor gauntlet. He plays another sequence of notes that he tirelessly trained the bird to recognized as feeding time. The hawk eagerly flies in front of him holding his mouth open anticipating his treat. Vaas smiles widen and reaches down into lap and picks up the meat, and holds up the meat to where the bird has landed. Vaas says to his friend, “Now Wind Dancer no biting my fingers this time. I need them.” Unfortunately for Vaas, Wind Dancer gets impatient when he is hungry. The bird eagerly snatches the meat from his fingers, however, he also nips his fingers in the process. Vaas swears under his breath and quickly takes his hand back. He feels his finger and feels his finger slightly bloody. He squeezes his fingers together stop the bleeding, and looks over at the sound of the still eating bird and says, “We still have to work on your manners my friend that really hurt you know.”

Vaas gets up from the table and walks to the side of his bed. He feels around at the corner of his bed and finds his bryda. He sits on the side of bed and puts on his bryda. He grabs his back pack at the foot of his bed and walks over puts on his leather gauntlet noticing his finger sticks out of the bitten of end of one of the fingers. He frowns for a moment, laughs to himself, and grabs his wood flute. He brings the flute to his lips and plays the getting attention series of notes and leather glove note in the same sequences. Wind Dancer perks up and flies to the extended gauntlet, and screams at Vaas when he lands on the glove. Vaas walks to the door and grabs the staff standing by the door with his other hand. Vaas happily looks at the bird on his arm and says to Wind Dancer, “Lets go get you some real food. Something juicy.”

Vaas always loved the sounds of morning time in the market place. He can hear the merchants unlocking and setting up their stalls, and the early morning shoppers slowly making their way into the crowded street. Vaas being careful not to hit anyone with his staff as he feels his way through the growing crowd. Finds his way to where he remember the location of falconry stall. Suddenly Vaas stops walking when he hears the call of one of his favorite merchant, Graven. The owner of the stall Winging Away. Graven calls to Vaas again, “Vaas my boy over here!” Vaas walks over to the sound of Graven's calls and teases his friend, “Graven I see your still in business. How my friend how are you this morning?”

Graven laughs and says to Vaas, “You have a smart mouth, boy. Of course I am in business this town would be lost without my charming face.”

Vaas laughs at Graven and says, “Lucky I am blind, but I am sure your face is charming none the least.” Vaas leans his staff on the side of the stall and says to Graven as Wind Dancer happily dances on his arm, “I need two fresh juicy mice for Wind Dancer. He has earned a treat today for doing the commands you taught me.”

Graven nods and smiles at the blind boy and his bird and says to Vaas, “You have the most stubborn hawk in Wind Reach Vaas. Is he still biting your fingers when you feed him?”

Vaas sadly nods and sarcasticly says, “Ya maybe I will season my fingers next time for him. Know a good spice merchant?”

Graven laughs at Vaas and grabs the two dead mice from his salt container and says, “Two pinions my boy, and yes, but you should check out the other shops. I heard there is some new glass merchants somewhere down the road.”

Vaas grabs his money, takes out two pinions, and sets them down on the counter. Graven takes Vaas' hand, sets the mice down in his palm, and says, “See ya tomorrow morning Vaas. By the way, you gauntlet looking rough are you in the market for a new one?

Vaas' ignore the shrewd merchant and says to him, “Bye my friend.” Vaas feeds one of the mice to hawk perched on his arm.

Vaas walks down the road and decides to take a seat on the ground by the side of a stall. He unsnaps the jesses from Wind Dancers ankle and Wind Dancer flies to the ground besides him and screams up at him, “"Kree-eee-ar."

Vaas brings the flute to his lips and plays his attention and feeding series of notes. Obediently, Wind Dancer flies on to his knee and opens his mouth waiting for his food. “I know your showing off for Graven before we left his stall. Lets see if you can not bite my finger again.” However, Wind Dancer seeing the mouse is slightly bigger bites his finger once again.

A Chance Encounter and Friendly Company (Flash Back)

Postby Alori Sai on May 20th, 2012, 7:00 pm

Aela sat behind her booth waiting patiently for customers to walk by. It was a hot day out and even the wind held no comfort. More people had appeared in the market but none had wondered to her booth as of yet. She sighed and picked up one of the toy cats that she had crafted and looked it over. It had been one of the hardest jobs she had done but she was proud of the results.

Aela continued to wait and think of anything to fight off the boredom. She began to think of the great eagles of Wind Reach and how much fun it would be to ride one. Of course this would also mean that she would have to help with the hunting, but she didn't mind. It had been her dream for a long time and the pay off was well worth it. She smiled to herself as she thought of the look on Perith's face when he realized she had passed him in caste. Looking up she noticed a well dressed older couple had stopped in front of her booth. She had never seen them before and assumed that they must be foreigners.

The woman paused looking at the display then back to her again. "Are you a glass blower?"
Aela didn't like the woman's tone but decided not to get into a war of words with a potential customer. “I'm still an apprentice, I will be one day.” The woman leaned in staring at her as if she was lying. “I see, and who might you be learning from?” Aela was becoming more and more irritated with the woman but continued to act professional. "I'm apprentice to Perith.” The woman turned looking back over her shoulder at the man standing behind her with a strange expression on her face. “Do you know of this Perith?.”

The man rubbed at his chin as he looked over the items and taking longer stares at the young girl behind the booth. "Yes, I've seen his work, he does have a certain amount of talent."

Aela sighed, feeling a bit of relief that the man knew of Perith. “Yes, he is good. So can I interest you in anything?” Upon hearing this, the woman quickly snapped her head around glaring at Aela as if she were bothering her. The man she was with had a strained look on his face and from time to time he would look up at Aela but his eyes never raised above her neck . Finally after inspecting the items, the woman spoke again. “Maybe some other time child." She spat walking away, the man with her struggled to raise his cheeks to a slight smile tilting his hat and followed her.

What was her problem? I may be only an apprentice but I put a lot of work into this.

With a heavy sigh, Alea stood up and walked around the front of her booth. The hard wooden stool was starting to bruise her and she needed to calm herself before she exploded. As she moved to the front she adjusted the straps at her shoulders to pull the halter top to cover more. After being visually drooled upon left her feeling a bit uneasy. It was at this moment that she realized that there was another woman standing near her booth. She calmed herself and made ready to pitch another sell, but just as she was about to speak. She heard the squawking of a bird and spun around to see a man resting against the wall beside her booth.

"Could I interest either of you in glass works?"

A Chance Encounter and Friendly Company (Flash Back)

Postby Casa on May 20th, 2012, 8:54 pm

Casa started as she realized she was being addressed. Pulled from her thoughts, her hands quickly dropped to her sides and she turned toward the voice and found herself looking at a young woman, probably younger then herself, with pale skin and green eyes. She also noticed that the woman was standing behind a stall, one that was filled with glass creations.

Slightly befuddled that she had ended up next to glasswork without even thinking about it, it took a second for Casa to answer. Finally wiping the look of slight surprise from her face, she said simply. “No, thank you.”

She glanced down at the objects in question. All clearly made by an apprentice so they had a bit of personality to them from the stray mistakes and marks. However it was clear hard work had been put into them, and Casa never felt that hard work was something to look down upon. A glass cat in question caught her eye, and she reached out one long fingered hand to pick it up to better inspect it. She always loved the feeling of glass underneath her fingertips, how smooth and perfect it always felt.

“While there are some lovely pieces here,” Casa continued as she fingered the slight detail of the cat. Her hands were careful in touching the work, cautious of breaking or marring it. “I work with glass myself, and so I’m never in short supply.”

This was perfectly true. Ever since Klaro had made her his student she had felt no want to buy glass objects until she was making her own good enough to so. That was why, while she adored the beautiful beads that many wore in their city, the only one she had in her hair was one she had made. It sat on the end of a small braid that began at her temple, separated from the longer, thicker one that ran down her back.

Her quick inspection of the piece concluded, she carefully set the cat back on it’s rightful place on the table. She looked up at the woman once more. She was at the age where she could be an older apprentice like Casa, or a student that had been quite good at her studies and was already working on her own. Or maybe she wasn’t even the creators of such pieces and was one simply hired to watch the shop.

It also hit here then that the young lady had said ‘either of you’. Glancing around, she saw the young man that had also been addressed; accompanied by a bird, which was extremely unsurprising to see in Wind Reach.

"Could I interest either of you in glass works?"

Vaas winces at the bite Wind Dancer gave him, and he sticks the once again bloody finger in his mouth. Suddenly he realizes he is being spoken to by a young woman and stands up quickly. Taking his finger from his mouth, and hearing Wind Dancer fly off irritable and moments later hearing the rustle of leaves. Vaas with his hair still in disarray from the morning says out loud to whoever spoke to him, “Glass? Oh you must be the new merchant Graven was talking about. My name is Vaas and yes, I am interested in glass..” He kind trails off a little. He remember learning about the exquisite Inarta glass works in school; however, since he is blind, he not really sure how exquisite is the art or to make matters worse what the art even looks like. Since he made a ass of himself already, he might as go all the way and make a complete ass of himself. All this time, he is still staring in the same direction with a goofy grin on his face.

He reaches out his unsure hand, gently gliding the his hands over the glass until he gently picks something that feels like a string or a chain of small round shape beads. He rolls around the piece of art in his fingers trying to figure out what the shape could be. “Is it a snake or a worm. I know that worms are slimy, but snakes are smooth like these beads,” Vaas thinks to himself. A minute later, He says in unsure voice, “My friend, I have to say. Fine work of art you have here. It is lovely snake. I like the touch you did with scales. The beads make it.. very... artsy.” Still enjoying the small beads in his hand, Vaas continues rolling them around in his palm.

Aela watched the woman as she moved closer to her booth and noticed that she was much younger than the rude woman who had just left. In fact she didn't look much older than Aela and she wondered why she hadn't seen the woman before. With the present in mind, Aela moved closer to the woman and stood beside the table.

"Thank you. So you're a glassblower then?"

She has to be around my age...Why haven't I seen her before?

Suddenly she was pulled from her thoughts as the man started to bellow. Aela spun around a second time to see that he was now standing. "Yes, I'm the new girl heh." It was only for a moment and just before he moved to her table that she caught sight of his eyes. But it wasn't until he began feeling around the table that she realized that he was blind. She quickly reached for him, cupping his hands gently as not to break the beads he held while she moved him away from the table. The last thing she needed was for him to destroy her booth on the first day she came out.

Perith would kill me...

"Thanks but...that's not a snake. It's a beaded necklace." She said as she bit her lip, trying not to laugh out loud. Reaching into his palms, she took the necklace and lightly placed it around his neck. "Ha, it looks good on you, a perfect fit." She smiled and snapped her finger with a flick of her wrist. She knew that it was important to be kind to the customers and engage them in conversation. The longer they stood around the more likely it was that they would buy something.

Aela returned to the table and picked up the same kitten that the other woman had just set back down and gently placed it into his hands. She had more than one kitten on display but figured it was better to allow people to touch the same one to keep the rest free of finger prints. As she stood there, she wondered if she should have given him something cheaper like a paper weight. But at this point it was too late and she could only hope that he wasn't a klutz.

"Try again. See if you can guess what this one is?"

She left him for a moment, hoping that he wouldn't drop it and returned to the woman on the other side. "Excuse me, but I wanted to get your opinion on something?" She smiled and quickly stepped back behind her booth and pulled a glass bow from under the table. Aela held the bow lightly as she placed it in front of the woman, making sure not to knock over her display of glass items.

"What do you think? I know this wouldn't work like a real bow, but I thought it might be something fun to display in a home."

A loud crash caught her attention and as she turned around, she noticed the same couple had stopped at a stall further down and were having a heated conversation with the vendor. "I don't know where they are from but they should go back and soon."

Postby Casa on May 21st, 2012, 12:20 pm

"Thank you. So you're a glassblower then?"

Casa nodded her head once, an unconscious smirk coming to grace her face as she got to talk about her art. “Yes. I am apprenticed to Klaro, who is known for his bead making.” Her idle hands went and clasped behind her back once more, her back straightening as she spoke proudly of her teacher, who she held a deep respect for.

She had little time to say anything else before the young man was joining them at the booth, feeling around with deft hands. Casa was quick to notice that his eyes were starring off into space uselessly. Her own eyes widen slightly, but that was her only response to the fact the man was blind. Was he in the low caste, then? She had seen many dek whose senses were poor and defected working around the city. Or maybe he had some talent that made him useful and needed in Wind Reach that had won him a higher status. However, before her curiosity could build enough to make her actually ask such questions he was palming a string of glass beads and her thoughts were distracted.

She watched as the young woman took the wandering hands away from her table carefully, remaining silent, the slight smile still on her face. While the boy’s eyes were blank, he had pleasantly animated features besides that; his goofy smile made one want to spread across her own face as well. While his hands gave him a very different description of the glass beads then her eyes did, she found his misunderstanding did not sound idiotic or make him appear simple. For a moment she wondered if he was simply making a joke.

"Excuse me, but I wanted to get your opinion on something?"

This surprised Casa. While Klaro would often ask her for opinions on many different glass pieces that he stuck under her nose, she knew this was more to test her skill then because he actually felt she had her own opinion on pieces yet; that would come with more experience and understanding of glass. Other than that, anyone that came close to the pair wanted Klaro to see what he or she was working on. Most often times it was a glass bead or something else equally small and they would want help from the master who was known for his matriculate, tiny details.

She said none of this to the young woman, however, as she produced the piece from under the table. Instead she took the glass bow in her hands and began to look it over, her pride unwilling to let her miss this chance to test the skill she had been honing with her teacher. As with the other pieces there were marks that proved it was a student’s hand that made it. However it was the size that made her wonder of its usefulness. One would need a lot of blank wall if they wanted to display it. There was also the question of longevity of the piece. One slip from a table or wall and the glass – already delicate, but even more so as it had been stretched into such a thin shape – would shatter.

“While the topic of archery in question would catch quite a few eyes, the size of the piece means only those with a lot of coin and a lot of space on their walls or tables would be truly interested in buying it.” Casa admitted freely to the woman. Her voice was blunt, but she picked her words carefully; Casa was unafraid to give her opinion but it would be pointless if she just let words fly. “A smaller piece, one that is easier to display would sell better. Or maybe pieces along the same theme; I’m sure an archer would love to have a glass bead in the shape of an arrow’s head woven in their hair.”

Opinion given, she set the piece back on the table, careful of the other works already there. She too had heard the crash, and once the glass was out of her hand she let her eyes stray to the couple. Her brow furrowed and her blue eyes flashed in annoyance. As the young woman commented on them Casa found herself nodding in agreement.

“One could only hope.” She muttered under her breath.

A Chance Encounter and Friendly Company (Flash Back)

Postby Vaas on May 22nd, 2012, 2:41 am

Vaas feels hands being grabbed quickly by the young merchant. He tenses up suddenly not expecting the touch. He lets himself be lend away from the booth. He thinks to himself if he should be offended that she didn't trust him around her merchandise, or if she just a young artist, trying hard to keep her works intact. In his moment of indecision, he realizes she something about something not being a snake, but Vaas still deciding how to react. A moment later, he thinks a moment to himself and decides to give her the benefit of the doubt. She a artist like him and she takes pride in her art. He feels her open his cupped hand and put the glass beaded necklace around his neck. “She sure isn't shy. She'll go far in this world, Priskil.” Vaas thinks to himself with a smile, and his smile widens when she flatters him, "Ha, it looks good on you, a perfect fit.”

Vaas raises his fingers to the necklace and gently feels the beads around his neck. I like the feel of beads cold and smooth surface on his bare skin. He moves slightly and they make some noise. “Well I guess thievery is out for me,” Vaas says to himself with a laugh. Not realizing she comes back, he jumps slightly as she puts another glass figurine his hand and asks, "Try again. See if you can guess what this one is?" He says nothing when gives him the figurine. He moves his fingers around the shape feeling four legs, a tail, two pointy ears, and lastly he feels the long whiskers springing from the figurines head. He smiles to himself thinking it is either a dog or cat. Which one makes the sound meow. He nods to himself when he thinks he has the answer. Not trying to be rude, he listens to the conversation between the merchant girl and the other girl who must be another apprentice glassblower.

Trying not to rude. He walks closer to the booth to listen to the conversation between the two women. He doesn't get too close to rouse suspicion of the wary merchant. Trying not to be rude, He waits until they are done talking before he asks politely, “Hello Ladies sorry, I not trying to be rude, but can I touch this particular piece of art your talking about? I know I am blind, but I am a musician, and I appreciate art of all kinds even though yours is visual.” Pleased with his diplomacy, he has to earn the trust of wary apprentice, so he asks them both with a smile, “May I ask you both your names? My name is Vaas a chiet for now, but eventually I hope to become a Avora Falconer someday, and if I break anything I will pay you back. I promise.”

A Chance Encounter and Friendly Company (Flash Back)

Postby Alori Sai on May 22nd, 2012, 7:30 pm

When the woman lightly placed the bow back on the table, Aela noticed the scar on her right wrist. She wondered if it had been caused while working with glass given the scar did resemble a burn. Whether for being polite or not wanting to embarrass the woman, she decided not to ask about it. She felt lucky, with all the mistakes she had made in and out of the Glass Reverie that she didn't have any scars of her own.

Still....that must have hurt...A lot.

Instead Aela listened intently at what the woman had to say and found herself surprised. The woman had a good mind for sells and merchandising, and Aela wondered if she had her own stall close by. She nodded as the woman continued, understanding exactly what she meant and how to best use her advice. The bow that she created resembled the long bow that she had purchased a while back. Thinking it over, she realized that most people used short bows, in and out of WindReach. A short bow would take up less room, and she could possibly make the glass thicker so that it wouldn't break as easily without adding too much weight.

"That's great advice, wow you're really good at this."

Aela smiled more, thinking about how a glass bead shaped like an arrowhead would look great in the hair of an archer, or even better an Endal. Aela paused for a moment as new ideas sprung forth in her young mind. She could create a short bow, a much better piece than the present bow and give it to an Endal as a gift. The Endal were among the most respected people in the whole of WindReach, especially among archers. If they were to display her unique glass bows in their homes, it would make them more popular, famous even. She could also give them a few arrowhead shaped glass beads, all of different glass colors to where in their hair. Even for those who weren't archers, and those at the common level; might enjoy the fresh style and be able to afford them.

Aela's face burned with blush, her body suddenly overcome with goose bumps. This new turn of events was exciting and she realized that she really could do this. Not only could she do it, but she could also do it well.

"You have really good ideas, Do you have a stall? I'd like to see your work. "

After the loud crash, and turning back to the woman who agreed that the couple were a menus; she turned back around when the young man addressed them. She quickly noticed upon turning around that he was still holding the glass kitten that she had given him. Seeing this made her feel more at ease when he asked if he could hold the much heavier glass bow.

"Sure, I don't mind."

She smiled as she walked closer to him and lightly plucked the kitten from his hands before going back and placing it on the table. Aela's face still beamed brightly, the ideas that the woman had given her was more than she had expected. If all went well, she should be able to start on the next bow shortly after taking care of Perith's orders. Gently lifting the bow from the table, Aela slowly moved toward the man and held it out in front of him. It was better to hold the bow and allow him to grasp it first rather than placing it in his hands because of the weight.

"OK..Now this one is kinda heavy. I'm sure you already know what it is."

When he asked what her name was, she found herself taken back a bit, surprised even. Not because of his curiosity, but because of the fact that she had been talking with them both for several minutes and she hadn't asked that question herself. Perhaps it was because Perith had told her again and again to engage them in the sell. She knew that getting to know the customers was a good idea, but most people didn't come to the market for idol chatter.

"I'm Aela, and it's nice to meet you Vaas."

She listened as he told more about himself and took the moment to look him over. She noticed the leather gauntlet on his arm and remembered that he did have a bird with him when she first saw he was there. As she listened, she was met with another surprise, he wanted to become a Falconer. It wasn't impossible she supposed, but she didn't have a clue as to how that would work. Aela smiled to him and pushed the nagging thoughts from her mind. Whether he could accomplish his goal or not, it wasn't her job to ruin his dream.

"An aspiring Avora Falconer? That's pretty interesting, so am I."
