The damned forest is after me!

While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

With the laughter dying away into the distance, Aello looked up. Her head slowly rising to meet first, her bow, and then the coil of rope, tossed a few feet into the distance, with her fall, resting silently in the snow. Her hands sank into the cool powder, her fingers coiling as her tilted chin rose even more, to meet the eyes of the messenger. Within an instant, they flashed with recognition, and then softened for a moment, before hardening. "Kiochi?" Aello whispered, not truly believing the things her eyes were showing her.

Slowly, her hands slid forward, and her back arched all the more. In her daze, Aello seemed much like Nex in his animal form, stalking his prey through the forest. "The woods, not so friendly?" she whispered, as her head fell to the side, her mane of hair cascading down the length of her back, causing her to appear all the more rugged and feral. "How could something that doesn't possess the sort of life we do, be unfriendly?" she asked. "How could it be anything for that matter?"

As the question hung unanswered in the air, Aello grit her teeth and shook her head. She closed her eyes, and tried to ward it all away, but when she opened them again, and stopped shaking, nothing had left. "Kiochi," she called. "Aren't you a bit far from your jail cell? Just what... what are you doing here? How did you find us after our flight?" There was a pause as fear overcame her, and her heart hammered. Was he clutching it, manipulating it in this way, as a sculptor might his clay?

"Have you been following us, ever since that day, so many moons ago, when Alenias sprung me from that filthy cell? And blood rained from the ears of our enemies?" Aello asked, her eyes narrowing as she considered the possibility. The petching creature just seemed crazy enough to do it...

Things Aren't Always What They Seem (Closed)

The laughter flared for a moment as Aello questioned the strange otherworldly creature, though as always Kiochi's mouth never moved. Perhaps he wasn't even laughing, perhaps it was all just in her head. She had been through more than enough to drive a person insane. What if Kiochi wasn't even real? Oh, but he was. And as soon as the laughter died away he spoke again in that strange voice that echoed all around her.

"Kiochi goes wherever his master tells him to go, Miss Aello. And his master tells him that you still owe Him a favor. You ran away from Him, but you can't hide, Aello. The Defiler will always find you. You owe a debt to Rhysol, and Rhysol would have you pay it."

Kiochi vanished then, or rather, Aello blinked, and suddenly he was gone. The laughter echoed quietly around her, and behind it she could hear Kiochi's voice whisper, "Come home, Aello. Come home to Ravok, or the master will make you. Seek out the Druvin Silvas, and pay back your debt to the Defiler."

The laughter ceased, but another sound replaced it. A roar cracked the air, reminding Aello suddenly that she was still not out of the forest. Had she forgotten the bear? It had not forgotten her, and the large brown beast was charing her way. Aello had mere ticks of the chime to reach her discarded bow before the creature was upon her, it's massive paw swiping for her chest. Nex, doing what kelvics did best, jumped in front of the bear to defend his master, but was easily knocked aside by the massive beast. The kelvic went flying and thudded against a tree, losing consciousness in an instant. The bear turned it's rage back to Aello, a wild feral look in its eyes, and let out another roar. It was just the chance Aello needed to strike, but could she kill it quickly enough?

OOCFeel free to epicly kill the bear in one post if you wish. We can draw this out more, but if you are ready to end it, make your final post and escape the forest. XP will come after.

"Silvas?" Aello whispered, as she glanced around her wildly, her eyes soon settling on the bear, and then her gear, lying in the snow not all that far away. Frantic, now that her Kelvic companion had been thrown aside, the aurist clawed at the ground, forcing her body forward in an awkward crawl. As though she were a man of the force, training in combat. Her ears rung with the messenger's words as her fingertips brushed up against the wood. Something that wasn't so cold, so relentless. They trailed up the length of her bow as her body grew closer, and soon, she was able to take up her mantle once more. Her fingers curled around the wood, her hand darted for an arrow. It was one with raven feathers, that she deftly laced onto the serving by the time she regained her feet. As she did, the three middle fingers of her right hand hugged the nock, inched the string back, past her right ear. She scarcely heard it creak as she closed her left eye, and pivoted, drawing the arrow's point over the bear. At the space between its eyes. Within a heartbeat, one skipped, she had released the string. Sent it into a series of rabid vibrations, which produced a low buzzing sound. The arrow flew, raven feathers fluttering as it rode ethereal currents of air towards the bear, and then, pierced its skull, right in between the eyes. Growling, the creature stumbled back, causing Aello to reach for her dagger, and dart forward. Wildly slashing at limbs, spilling warm, red blood, until she was certain the creature had been felled.

Breathing heavily, Aello moved around the bear, retrieving all of her things, before returning to Nex's side, patting him at first to rouse, and then shaking him furiously. Demanding he get up so they could make their escape. Get out of this mess alive. "Come Nex, we don't have much time," she hollered as her eyes widened all the more, scanning the forest just in case anything else came upon them. When his eyes fluttered open just enough for her to tell that he could hear her. She turned, darting away. Knowing that he would be quick to follow. For just like Alenias, he wasn't the sort to disobey a direct order coming from she. And soon, she knew, they would both be lost to the forest's clutches. The shadows of the trees.

Oh, and that location lore, I intend on actually writing up a location thread for this place, so return visits will be possible (if you are crazy enough). As for the Silvas thing, we will get to that when we get to it. Great writing you guys, and keep up the good work!
