Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Separated from the Valkahala Academy, The School of Earth and Life Science in Riverfall is an independent facility dedicated to the study of life and death. One of the three main halls in the School, The Hall of Bones, as its commonly called (or Osteology by its residents) is dedicated to the preservation of bones. Sentient life and non-sentient life is represented here. Funded by the Council, the School takes private donations and earns its keep off of selling some of its work on the side (The Hall of Gems/The Hall of Bones) for art and charging admission for its display sections.

Made of three separate sections, The Hall of Bones contains a long display hallway that charges admission. This is the most famous and prominent section of the Hall of Bones. Bones of all sort are on display here, normally in lifelike poses such as a gazelle being chased by a grass lion. Whales skeletons are attached to the ceiling and suspended so the curious can walk through their remains marveling at their size and strength. Visitors can touch real glassbeak claws and handle Velispar teeth without fear of loosing limbs or life.

More private is the actual 'lab' that contains a large glass tank filled with beetles. These bugs clean off the bones, removing all traces of flesh before students then move the bones on to the next step in preparation. Called the Preparation Lab (or bug lab by its denizens), this section always has a lot of students working on bones, cleaning off flesh, and moving the process on by boiling the bones after the beetles have done their work cleaning them. Once boiled to a brilliant white, the bones are then covered with a lacquer and moved to either the Display Hall or the third section of the facility - the collection.

The collection contains drawers and shelves and boxes of bones. Each are carefully labeled with the animal type and any known information about the individual the animal came from. Each bone is labeled, given a number, and recorded in the records for the Hall.
