Considered one of the most mysterious cities in Mizahar, Alvadas is called The City of Illusions. It is the home of Ionu and the notorious Inverted. This city sits on one of the main crossroads through The Region of Kalea.

Walking down the street looking at each of the buildings, Jason learned that looking for one building in this city was next to impossible. As for the map and directions he was given, neither were helpful. Turning down the street to which a lady had said would lead him in the right way, was a dead end. Turning around cursing, this library was one of the only ones know to have the knowledge he would need to continue on in his research.

Time seems to both slip by faster than water down a river or run as slow as a glacier down a mountain, thus is the nature of this city he is told. A city of illusions and to which all will play tricks on his mind and make him see what isn’t there and not see what is there. Walking down the street looking to the left and right, he finds it. Sitting right in front of him lies the Library of Alvadas, though it is known locally as the The Sunken Conundrum. Walking over to the door and readying himself, Jason opens the door and is met with a sight both breathtaking and heart stopping....

Before him is a wall of water. The entire library is … underwater. Looking back up and down the street for someone to jump out and yell ‘Gotcha’. Noticing no one, Jason looks at the wall of water. Getting the courage to do it, he places his hand through the wall of water to find it was indeed wet. ‘How does one get in without drowning?’ He thought to himself. Remembering this is a place of illusion, he thought it was a trick. Taking a deep breath Jason stepped forward into the door of water to be met by the feeling of being surrounded by water.

The feeling of the water was overwhelming; never did Jason think that he would drown in a library. Panicking he tried to turn around to find the door, but in the panic moved further from it. Feeling helplessness Jason looked around for an answer. As the pain of no oxygen hit his chest and neck, reaching up to his throat Jason touched fleshly flaps on his neck. ‘Gills’ he thought. Taking a breath, oxygen flowed back into his body. After his near death experience, Jason began to look around. Finding a desk, he swam to it. Behind the desk was the strictest looking woman he had ever seen.

Attempting to speak Jason words came out slightly slurred through the water “Hello, I am need of some research material. I believe you have them within your collection. Would you mind helping me?” He asked the librarian.

“Yes how may I help you, sir?” Asked the librarian in a modest tone.

“Yes you may, I wish to look throughout your library. I have heard that there is a fee to read your collection. As well, I need to ask where books of certain subjects are located. If possible of coarse…” Jason asked the librarian in a less slurred voice.

“Yes.” Answered the librarian. “You are required to pay a fee of three golden Mizas per day you are here.” She says as Jason reaches into his purse and hands over the gold. “Now about these subjects, what can I help you find?”

Pausing for a few moments, Jason took a deep breath and sighed. “I required books on some lesser known art forms. Just for a pure academic stand point of course.” Said Jason, hoping she was believing his words. “I need some books on the arts of what the people of old would call Glyphing and then Summoning..” Jason continues while shifting in the current of the waters flowing around him, waiting for the answer of the woman in front of him.

Looking at him the librarian looks around then back to Jason. “Very well, follow me.” She rises from her chair and then begins to swimming towards what appears to be the back of the building. Following behind her, Jason follows behind her past one, two, three and more rows of books. At row forty-six, she turns with Jason following. “Here you go dear, everything we have on the magical arts. Remember do not take the books out of the library.”

Jason thanks the woman and turns to the books. ‘Not much but it will have to do’ he thought as he looked at the small amount of books. Floating over to the seat and bring out his notebook, which to his surprise was still dry, Jason began to take notes over what he read.

After spending many hours within the library copying as much as he could into his notebooks, Jason just stepped back into his room he rented for his stay within the city. Walking over to the bed within the room setting down his bag, only to open it and retrieve his notebook. Closing his bag and striding over to the table, sitting in the chair and opening the book. He began to read the direct quotes from the books within the library:

“As one of the oldest form of Magic, Summoning is a skill that requires great focus and concentration to succeed in reaching another world as well as keeping the Summoner alive through the entire process.”

Continuing on with reading through the rest of the notes, Jason comes across the section in which the book listed some of the more well-known world Summoners use for their craft. It was said within the book, that each of these worlds were to be memorized by the Summoner, so that they could be used when ever needed.

“Name: Fyrden
Location: 6701984710485453
Notes: A world of either never ending darkness or constant light. This World is the home to Fyrdenians, the Familiars of the wizards of our world.

Name: Kseyden
Location: 3893849280160001
Notes: Use caution while opening a portal to this world, as it is home to the Vilemoss plant. Though the plant can be used for profit, it is very hazardous to the Summoner.

Name: Shoyden
Location: 0012926672185630
Notes: Home to one of the mighty Alahean outposts. As a Glassbeak breeding outpost, nothing more had been discovered worth summoning.”

‘Since the fall of Alahean, maybe someone else has survived on the World. It be worth checking out one day.' Was the though before he moved to the next World in his notes.

“Name: Swalden
Location: 8492841047291777
Notes: Beware of the cost of opening a portal to this world, as a Memosite stone will be awaiting you with a memory of a wizard before your time. Be prepared to offer the a memory in return or fear you will never get a chance to redraw on this world’s vast knowledge.

Name: Zaiden
Location: 106900258358210
Notes: Home of the Diverse, a humanistic race. Be prepared to offer a sum of loot or bloodshed in exchange for their services.”

Flipping back a few pages to the page that contained the crude drawings of the circle used for his summoning, he studied each of their many details, the simple circle seems easy enough to copy for the young summoner. Walking back over to his bag, grabbing a piece of chalk from the pouch from the bottom and closing it once more. Then walking back over to the book, picking it up and placing it on the floor, next to where he was going to work. Taking a knee next to the book he began to draw the circle as a near exact copy, minus adding the location of the world Kseyden into the correct space.

Laboring for nearly two hours on the circle, checking and double checking the runes for mistakes or broken points Jason finally told himself it was complete. Standing up and stretching his body from being bent over for so long. He prepared himself for what was to come, willing himself to open push out a small amount of his life essence, Djed from his palm into the air around him in case something went wrong. Pulling out his dagger he slowly put the point to his middle finger on his left hand. Forcing the point to break the skin ever so slightly, he pulled it away once he felt the pain hit and the feeling of the blood running down his finger. Place the dagger back into his belt, he slowly bent down and place a small amount of the blood on the circle. Standing up and wrapping the finger, he waited for the portal to open.

After nearly five minutes of waiting for something to happen, Jason shruged his shoulders and goes back to his notes, looking for something on a time limit. Not finding anything, he gives it up as a failure. Getting back down on his knees, he begins the long process of finding what went wrong. Looking through the lines, glyphs, and numbers looking for the smallest mistake is time consuming for a man that has spent most of the day in a library copying books. For what seemed like hours, the young man looked and relooked at the circle until it he finally found the mistake. Looking back at his notes, he discovered the mistake was a major one, one that he should have found in the beginning. The address to the world was off by one number, sighing as he finally found the mistake and grabbing a quill to make a note within the book not to let the happen again. Once completed he quick grabbed the pitcher of water from the table and poured a bit onto the circle and then slowly cleaned the floor. As he finished he stood back up, stretch and laid in bed, tired from his long hours awake, he fell into a deep sleep leaving the candle burning and still in his day clothes.

-3 GM- Fee for using Library
-3 GM- Blank Book- Used for taking notes
+1 Book of Basic Notes Taken on Summoning (name it whatever you want)
-1 CM- Chalk

While I do not penalize for unsuccessful attempts I do penalize for breezing over the process. What I mean by that is 'just going through the motions like a robot'. That will hardly get any points with me. To get more summoning points you should go into detail about the process, the steps, the drawing of the circle, the pricking your finger, the summoning of the portal. How does it all make your character feel? What boils up inside them when they do preform magic? What are their thoughts on the subject, what are they doing? Does it have an extra symbolic meaning? I could go on, but the point being the points are in the details. Detail, dedication, writing, and effort are the keys to getting good points. Show how the magic effects the character and make it personal.

Also, I dont think you learned too much at the library. They are just common worlds, and every summoner is thought to know them. That is why they have the suffix -den at the end of them. Though, keep in mind the library probably wont have much more than the most basic information on magics.

Any questions or concerns about the rewards gained please send a PM :)

12 hour shifts have started, and Im working 6-7 days a week mandatory overtime. My replies will be slow until I can adjust to this new groove.
