I might not post for a few days. I'm sick, unfortunatly. I can barely type right and walk in a straight line. See you when I'm better :)

And I'll have you know that snow leopards can jump 40 feet in the air, and can take down animals that are 3 times larger than they are. ;)

Another note, I am larger than a wolf. Have you checked their sizes recently?

Ooooh, just discovered this thread in my aimless wanderings. So awsome! But now that im here I have questions for my fellow berthen:

1: Has anyone bonded? How did It happen?
2: Has anyone found a niche or a line of work or are we all freeloaders?
3: When your talking to your animal relatives, what does it sound like?

Tell me your story! Dont be shy. :D

[Kelvic] Mizahar's Wild Children

Postby Sliver on July 3rd, 2012, 12:45 pm

YES! I like this thread muchly, go Kelvics!

1) Not yet, poor Sliver wishes to be bonded badly though
2) Working on joining Avanthal's Icewatch, no freeloading for this Wolverine
3) Something like: A growl is heard on the other side of the clearing, a male wolverine has caught the scent of the female, he lumbers over cautiously, Sliver's ears are flat to her skull. The two creatures slowly circle one another, gauging their opponent. He is the one entering her territory, and by the way he marked that oak over there, it was clear he meant to stay. She growls, warning him off. He is more curious than angry until Sliver lunges, swiping a paw roughly across his face with not quite enough force to rip through skin. The fight commences then, both creatures rolling and wrestling in the snow, snarling at one another to leave, both too prideful and territorial to back off. The ground is scuffed from where they roll, dirt and rocks fly in every direction. Finally Sliver gets at the right angle and chomps down on the male's leg, powerful jaws tightening, clenching until an echoing snap of bone is rewarded for her time and effort. The wolverine howls and leaps away. Sliver just growls again, so low you can barely make it out, black eyes glinting fiercely, and the male limps away, long bushy tail dragging on the ground. That's how you say hello in wolverine! Or goodbye...depending on how you look at it

[Kelvic] Mizahar's Wild Children

Postby Sira on July 3rd, 2012, 1:29 pm

1. Sira bonded to Aidara in the winter of 510 AV. They met by accident, but immediately there was a connection. That connection terrified Sira at first, who had never wanted to bond. Sira grew up being made fun of for what she was, though truly her peers were more jealous than anything. She rose through the ranks of Wind Reach, proving her worth as an Endal. The thought of bonding and becoming subservient to someone horrified Sira. When she began to connect with Aidara she was scared, but she couldn't help herself. It was more than just the need to bond, the two fell in love. Sira and Aidara went on their first date then took their first flight together and the bond was sealed. They were eagle and rider. They were bondmates. And they were lovers. Over the past year and a half that bond has grown deeper, and with the birth of Sira's child, the two mothers now share their bond with a third.

2. Sira's "niche" is that of an Endal, one of the guardians and providers of Wind Reach. Though she is technically counted as a Wind Eagle, she is considered to be of Endal rank when in Human form. Her role is to protect the city from threats, and to hunt for food to feed the people.

3. Sira has the Wind Eagle's ability to communicate telepathically. When speaking to other wind eagles, she hears their thoughts in her mind, usually in the Nari language. Few Wind Eagles speak other languages. Sira rarely speaks to "lesser" birds, finding them too simple, but when she does they speak simply. They do not understand the complex ideas that humans, or her fellow Wind Eagles do, so it often feels like trying to speak to an infant. If she does speak to the smaller birds, she prefers other birds of prey.
