Wart picked up her rag as the woman did and started on the wall. As she continued to scrub she saw that they were in desperate need of more water, as the dirt was just sort of spreading around instead of actually coming off. Hope that boy hurries it up or nothin's goin ta get done. If it were me I'da gotten that water back by now. Glancing back she noticed him with some blond girl. She sighed in frustration, getting a little irritated at the number of people that were suddenly congregating here. Wart preferred to work alone, and while "many hands made light work," this many people seemed to just slow things down and get in the way.

When she looked back and noticed the Konti girl, she had to bite her lip to keep from voicing her frustration. She wasn't a huge fan of the Konti. She hadn't seen many, but from what she could tell, they were small, white, and fragile. And besides that, they were supposedly "special," having some kind of special gift or something. Fragility and magic. Both things she preferred not to have to work with. When the woman threw the girl a rag, she moved over to make room for her. Long as she's making herself useful I guess.

On hearing the boy ask about the water, Wart couldn't help but stop what she was doing and angrily mumble under her breath. "... He hasn't... even... left... yet..." Not taking much thought to the Konti girl's question she answered "Wart" and went back to silently griping. Without water this wall can't get clean if the wall ain't clean no paint, no paint, no point to all of this and its a day wasted. I am Not wasting an entire day. Finally she turned around. "Look how bout I just go get the water real quick?"

"Oy, I look like a bloody fish market?" Tock asked in annoyance when Kaeson asked her about food. She didn't tend to keep much around the house, since it wouldn't stay fresh long. "Go down ta the well 'round the corner in the square, an' fetch yer own damn water. An' if'n yer 'ungry, pick up lunch fer everybody an' bring 'er back, aye? I could use a tucker meself..." She sometimes hated having to spell everything out for people. Was it that hard to fetch a pail of water?

"Oy, an' stop oggling the new girl, aye?" she yelled at Kaeson. "If'n ya done wanna shag 'er, do it on yer own time, aye? Yer on the clock, mate!" As far as she was concerned, this was her work space, and thus everyone was on duty.

When Nai complained about being tired, Tock told her, "Oy, Conch, dun worry 'bout it, aye? Make 'im do it..." she waved towards Kaeson. She had no idea they were discussing using magic to get the water, nor did she know the first thing about that sort of magic. But if she HAD known, she would have yelled at Kaeson louder for being lazy and making poor Nai strain herself with the magic instead of just walking a few blocks with a bucket.

On the other hand, maybe she could make an animated bucket...

That was a project for another day, though, since it would take her some time to build and Animate it, and thus it wasn't a practical solution to her immediate needs.

Then Wart got on Kaeson's case, and Tock scowled at the boy. "Oy, see?" she shouted at him. "Ya done coulda been back by now, Bludger! Chop, chop, let's go!" At hearing the word 'chop,' Choppy started swinging his axe in the air, and Tock's jaw dropped and her eyes widened. "Gah, stop, stop!" she shouted at him, and he froze in mid swing. She scowled at Kaeson as if it were all his fault, and gestured angrily towards Choppy saying, "Oy, see? Now lookit whatcha done did!"

OOC*hugs Kaeson* Sorry we're picking on you so much! You know I love you, right? Tock's just... well, a bitch...

Iris smiled at Nai'shee, she accepted the name compliment. Iris turned and waved to Nai'shee. Right after she turned to Kaeson and nodded to him after he asked if she was Iris. The Konti also shifted her gaze to Wart. This time she took a few seconds to examine her. Iris' eyes became low, but she nodded anyway with a smile on her face.

"Kaeson and Nai'shee are both very wonderful names. And it's a pleasure to meet you both." Iris said with that heavy Kontinese accent.

The healer couldn't help but laugh when Tock spoke to Kaeson. Iris' laugh was very low and soft. She reached into her bag and pulled out one waterskin which was full. Iris looked up at Tock and then walked over to her. Extending her right arm fully Iris held the waterskin out in Tock's direction and spoke once again. This time louder.

"If you need water you can have this..."

All the Konti wanted to do was be useful. She continued to hold the waterskin out waiting for Tock to respond.

OOCNo worries, Kaeson might not be having fun -- but I am! hehe

Kaeson snorted rudely at the tattooed woman's name. "Wart," Kaeson muttered, wondering what kind of parents would give that kind of name to their daughter. "More of an insult then a proper name," Kaeson mused to himself, his attentions briefly distracted from the Konti.

Kaeson briefly glanced over the colorful, or 'Wart', as she so plainly put it. As far as the young animator could tell, there were no blemishes of any kind over the young woman's body. In fact, she was almost attractive in a weird sort of way. The varying tattooes, the carelessly dyed hair; it all meshed well together. The most outstanding of the girl's feature were her eyes, quickly transmuting between varying hues -- filling with bursts of color. Kaeson had never paid much attention to the way people started at him, having grown used to have such a distinctive feature from those around him. Now, looking at Wart, Kaeson began to understand why people had always commented on his eyes, his sole link to his father and his vantha heritage.

"Huh? Oh, yeah. Sure, whatever, get the water," Kaeson said, not really bothering to think on why the girl had offered to get the water herself. He was much more interested in his own eyes now, something he had never given much thought too. Were his eyes as enticing as Wart's?

Kaeson casually waved Tock off, not really paying attention to her rant. Until, of course she implied he had less the noble intentions with the Konti. He did of course, and his imagination may or may not have already visited one or two darker fantasies. But he didn't want them to know that, much less Iris.

"Wh -- WHAT?! To -- Tock, NO!" Kaeson stuttered, blood rushing up to his cheeks. "I -- I wouldn't, not that she isn't beautiful, I mean, no, uh," Kaeson blushed furiosly, desperately hoping Iris wouldn't catch on to his embarrassment. He was still young, and while he had some experience with the fairer sex, Kaeson still was very immature towards any mention of the physical side of love.

Still blushing, Kaeson shot a dirty look at Tock, "What I did? I didn't animate him! I can't control him, Tock. It's not my fault."

And with that Kaeson grabbed the bucket, full of water or not, and headed off to the well, muttering something about a bunch of crazies.

OOCKaeson will be back! He's just being over dramatic, haha

Postby Nai'shee on July 3rd, 2012, 8:27 pm

In first moment, Nai'shee wondered how to imply her situation to Tock more directly, but in next moment she just froze. Everybody started shouting at Kaeson, except for her and Iris. She just stood there useless, trying to say something, but she had no idea what. She wanted to just give him some damned water, but she still had common sense to tell her she'll overgive. For a moment she wondered what does that feel like. What people don't think about while someone is arguing around them? Even Tock's animaton joined the fight, which did not help one single bit. She would hold Kaeson's side, but she just wanted everyone to shut up and give her something to eat in that moment.

"No, Kaeson, wai-", she tried, but he already left, which had no point when Iris offered her water. That would probably be just enough for this wall, but she was not sure. If she was Wart she would already forget scene she wanted to paint. At least Kaeson would bring them some lunch when he calms down a bit.

"I have some bad news", she said with cheerful tone, hoping she won't piss them off now. "He took the bucket". She was tired of whole thing already, but she couldn't help but thinking of it as funny. Now when they found the water, they had no bucket. This day was seriously mocking every single one of them. Tock got someone painting her wall. Wart spent half of a day searching for wall to paint and probably already forgot the beauty of the moment she wanted to catch. Kaeson got yelled at and provoked. Iris got lost in the weirdest part of the city and got to met them as first potential friends here. She'll probably run away from Zeltiva. And Nai'shee just wanted to eat, and that was probably the only thing she won't get to do today. She sighed.

On hearing Kaeson's answer Wart scoffed and shook her head. As she went to take the bucket, however, she looked up and saw the way he was looking at her. What is petching wrong with this boy... She was used to the random stares like this, whether from perverted creeps or people who just couldn't mind their own business. Whichever he was, she shot him a warning scowl.

Before she could go back to what she was doing, Wart couldn't help but stop and laugh at Tock's comment. One thing Kontis seemed to be undeniably good at was attracting a hoard of men. And by the poor boy's frantic response, she could easily tell that Tock was dead on about it all. Ha men. All the same. So easily distracted by a pretty face. The sudden swinging of the strange axe-thing brought her out of her thoughts, and she froze staring at the thing, her face a mix of fear confusion. Gods... this is why I don't touch this magic junk. When she was comfortable enough to believe that the machine wouldn't kill her, Wart looked back just in time to hear Nai'shee's comment and see Kaeson leaving.

"Huh well its about time." Looking at the Konti girl she saw the water she was holding out. Well at least she's trying to help. Ha woulda been great like two freakin chimes ago. She smirked, shaking her head again. It was sad that that it took so much to get the boy to simply fill a bucket, and yet here was this little foreign girl stepping up and trying to do something useful. Ha Chivalry is a pathetic joke. As biased as she was against Konti in general, she appreciated that this one was trying. "Yeah uh.. thanks anyway... Er Iris."

Now feeling slightly awkward after the sentiment, she quickly turned her attention back to the wall, trying to decide whether there was any actual hope if it getting done before the sun was gone.

OOCKaeson I'm sorry too, Wart's a total jerk especially to guys :P Thanks for being a good sport with all these crazy people yelling

Tock sighed. Everyone was so disorganized. It was just like when she was on the job; if SOMEONE didn't step up and get things organized, nothing would ever get done.

"Awright, 'ere's the deal," she said, waving them all over. "Conch, you an' Sook 'ere start scrubbin' 'is part, aye?" she said to Nai'shee, indicating Iris should assist her. "Bludger'll be back soon what wit' more water an' lunch fer everybody, so don'tcha done worry none 'bout 'at, aye? Jus' git started up 'ere fer now. 'Ere's 'nough water 'ere ta done get 'is part finished, aye?" She indicated a certain section of the wall, which Iris and Nai could easily scrub clean with the amount of water they had.

"'En' me an' Conch 'ere'll done start paintin' the part what's already clean," she slapped Wart on the arm and pointed at the section they'd already finished. "So's as all ya done gots ta does is keep cleanin' a'ead o' us, aye? An' whenever ya done finish one section, we can moves inta it..." It seemed pretty straightforward to her. The cleaning would take less time than the painting, so Nai'shee and Iris should easily be able to clean one section before Wart and Tock finished painting one. And they should be able to finish right around the time Kaeson was due back with more water, assuming he didn't drag his heels too much.

Once she had handed out everyone's tasks (and just assuming they would listen, because she said so), Tock turned to Wart and pointed at the cleaned section of the wall. "All yers, Conch," she said. "Let's git 'er done..."

The Konti honestly tried her hardest to understand everything Tock said. But most of it just made no sense to her. Scrub was one common word Iris knew so she could do that good. The healer turned to face Nai'shee.

Iris made her way over to Nai'shee until she was standing right in front of her. Looking down at the ground Iris thought to herself in Kontinese. "What did I get myself into? Oh well, I'm on their land. And I haven't been very productive since leaving Mura. Perhaps a bit of work will be good for me."

Gripping her rag tightly Iris went back to scrubbing a section. One more thing Iris noticed was Tock's speech. She didn't speak like anyone else around Zeltiva. Iris had never heard anything like it before in her entire life.

Conversations might make the work go faster, Iris figured. As hard as it would be to communicate with Nai'shee Iris tried her best anyway. Mother Amaris always told Iris she'd get better at a language if she spoke it alot around the native speakers. Iris spoke, her voice light and soft.

"So Nai'shee, tell me a bit more about yourself and in return I'll tell you how I got lost here."

Iris smiled at Nai'shee.

LANGUAGE KEYFRATAVA

"I want fish," Kaeson declared loudly to the Svefra fish merchant, smiling politely as he pointed out the freshest looking cuts, "This, and this, and this!" The old Svefra merchant gave the young animator a toothless grin of his own, "Yeh gunnas want this smoked, huh?" he asked, to which Kaeson responded with a quick nod. He watched as the old merchant man proceded to smoke the fish.

Fish smoked, the Svefra packaged the food, "Seven gold mizas, 'thing else?" he asked. "These, please," Kaeson said, handing the man ten gold mizas along with three pounds of dried apple.

Food in tow, Kaeson made his way back toward Tock's making sure to stop at the well by the way.

"Here's your water," Kaeson grumbled to Tock and Wart, still slighty annoyed by the way he treated them -- coincidently forgetting to tell them about the food. The young man proceded to plop himself down besides Nai'shee and Iris, handing out some fish and dried apples to the two.

OOCSorry about the length! Anyways, feel free to be as horrible as you want to Kaeson, it's not problem with me haha

She silently scrubbed the wall, sometimes getting annoyed by stubborn stains and moving her hand faster. When Iris spoke Nai'shee struggled to understand simple sentence. It seemed she was good with grammar, but her sentences were heavily accented in some weird way. However, her smile was so honest that Nai'shee understood everything. She tried to speak a bit slower for her to understand, but not slow enough to seem like she was trying to embarrass her. "There isn't much to tell. I'm in Zeltiva as long as I know about myself, I love this city, it literally raised me. I'm currently student at University." A quick glance at Wart reminded her not to speak about her studies more.

When Kaeson arrived Nai'shee just hungrily grabbed some fish from him and left the work as it was. "Sorry", she muttered to Iris, mouth full. "Long story." Fish, everyday meal here, in Zeltiva, suddenly felt as the most tasty and glorious meal of the world. She couldn't think about anything else. And she concluded personal magic was an awful discipline. She didn't even realize how her behavior might seem to Wart and Iris. Tock wouldn't mind anything, while Kaeson probably gone trough this at least once.
