Kavala was definitely developing a sense of style when it came to The Within. She had started out simply enough, but now that things were well underway with construction, she'd started adding design elements into her Reimancy that had really helped give the Sanctuary its own personal style. Living among the Akalak had not left her without influence either. Arches were worked into her plan as well as irregular shapes and alcoves that were prefect for well placed candles.
The bathing chamber was one of the contracted rooms that Lars Varkas had carved out for Kavala. He'd also thoughtfully included a cistern system that lead to the surface where water could be heated in the sun. Drains had also been installed in fine shafts that ran to the cliff for easy emptying of the pools and sinks in the chamber. Latrines were elsewhere, thankfully, so there was no smell of waste or anything else associated. The bathing chamber was just for that, bathing...
And because she'd paid for elaborate, she was certainly going to decorate for that effect. So, planning was half the battle and execution was the other half. All she had to start was an L shaped room, one large dug out bathing pool that she'd have to line, and a large piece of chalk. The thick thumb-sized stick of chalk was for her to walk around the room and add in what she wanted in terms of shelving and alcoves.
Kavala did that first, walking around sketching shelving on the walls, platforms for water pitchers and urns, adding in arches to hold candles and deepening the pool area so she could have a shelf running along its edge. Then once she did that, Kavala started by hopping into the empty pool and deciding that the stone she'd have lining it was going to be a deep blue Akalite. Lining the pool and creating the matching stone pitcher and basins would be the hardest most toughest part of the finishing work, so Kavala figured she had to get started there.
Bowing her head, she concentrated, felt the detached burning sensation course through her blood as her body started producing res, and began extruding it into the surface of the roughly fashioned stone pool. Once her res was fully coating the surface, she forced her will into it and began visualizing the res hardening into a thick layer of Akalite. The clear almost gel-like djed hardened, darkened and turned into a swift exotic dark blue and black pattern. Kavala laid on the Akalite like a finisher laid on glue coating to a wall he'd just got done hanging paper on. Over and over her hands swept the space, creating what she tried to make into a uniformly thick surface area of stone. And once started she didn't stop, but kept coating the pool, mesmerized by the magic and how easy it was to turn the ugly brown stone into something truly beautiful.
