"Heh..." Xuphim smirked. Considering Kalila was laughing, he had to assume he was doing something right. Still though, doing this 'respect' thing that she so desired was exhausting. With a head full of less than noble intentions, it was a constant struggle to keep them all from escaping past his lips and out of his mouth. "Yeah well, some Knights are. There's Knights that are like you describe, Xalet is one of them, that goody two shoes. Putting 'sir' and 'ma'am' before everything. Pleases and thank yous. Doing all that chivalrous crap. The fact of the matter is, I know what I signed up for. Syliras doesn't get to be all safe and sound because the walls are the prettiest. It's because when something messes with Syliras or its people, that something gets the shyke stabbed out of it."

The fact of the matter was Xuphim had his own code of conduct. It wasn't quite as eloquent as Xalet's, but it was valuable enough to him to be upheld as best he could none the less, "A long time ago I realized there was basically two things I could do with my strength. I could beat the weak to the ground and make them recognize me as their superior, or I could beat the folks that try to beat the weak to the ground. Beating weak folks isn't much of a challenge, and it leaves a sour taste in my mouth, call it what you will. So yeah, that's my idea of it. I can endure what those people can't. 'Dying so they don't have to', just like I said. The only difference is I ain't dyin' so easy. Priskil's given me a job to do too, these people sure ain't going to inspire themselves, that's for damn sure."

His steely eyes dropped down to the fabric now laying in his arms. Looked like she had taken him up on his offer, something he genuinely wasn't expecting. "Well damn, now I guess I've got to pay for it." he mentally chuckled at himself, recognizing how easily he had been roped into tossing down his own Mizas. Pulling his pack around to the front, he began to shuffle through it's contents in an attempt to get at the pouch that carried his coins. "Cold-blooded? Girl, you don't know about the women I've seen. Some real cold-blooded killers. You're really quite tame compared to those crazies. Not that there's anything wrong with being cold-blooded, you gotta do what you gotta do."

At first one would have believed the overall 'thickness' of Xuphim would keep the Akalak from ever taking a guess at Kalila's true nature. Tee fact was he had never met a Dhani, at least not as far as he knew. With the tiny amount of them left in the world, and him never having remembered his short time in Riverfall as a baby, there was little chance for him to ever meet one of the Predatory creatures. Years of observing body language and slight verbal cues gave him some instinctual idea about whether or not something was being hidden from him, even if Xuphim himself wasn't the most educated of sorts. "Wait..." before the coins came out to be laid down for the old multi-armed vendor to accept, the purple skinned Akalak threw the cloak over his shoulder and did what he did best, used direct methods to get his questions answered. "Not Human, cold-blooded. At first I thought you were just joking with me, but I felt like something didn't totally seem right. Just what are you...?" the last phrase had him moving in close, bringing his face down to her level as if though they were exchanging secrets.

OOCHad to hold off on the cloak purchase until I get an ok from Creeper since it mentions that all non-listed items at the Supply place have to be moderated.

It's Time to Bang! (Sahashkalila)

Postby Sahashkalila on July 22nd, 2012, 12:36 am

He seemed to know everything about himself, seemingly knowing his place in life just as she was still searching for hers. There were people who knew what they were supposed to do from the moment they were born, and this man was one of them, the organization that he was involved him seeming to fit him. She however, still kept search for her proper place, and envied him for his settled so easily in his. "At leasst that iss one this you are good at friend," she said with a chuckle, watching as he pulled out his coin purse from his pack. "Your mannerss sstill need improvement, but I can let that sslide between friendss."

His next words caused her to smile wider, since he obviously didn't quite understand the hint that she had given him to her true nature. She wondered what the Knights really thought of the Dhani, seeing as most races feared them. It would be a shame to loose the friendship, or budding friendship, between her and the man before her because of it, but she was fully prepared for it. The few friends that she did have she treasured deeply, knowing they accepted her and her heart, and if the man in front of her did not.....then it was okay. But she didn't have long to wait for her hint to sink in, because he was now alarmingly close to her face, their faces inches apart. She shifted her feet slightly, not wanting to back down from him, but quickly finding a way to answer his question in a non threatening way.

"What am I? I am Kalila of Ahnatep, ressident healer of the Crimsson Edge and employed by Jorg at the Sspiress Injury Ward to help the sssick. I am a Dhani, a viper to be exact, and I have come here to give what help I can to thesse people,"she said softly, her golden eyes staring into his silver ones.

oocThat is fine and I'm sorry this is so bad :(

It's Time to Bang! (Sahashkalila)

"Friend eh?" he said, moving back to getting the coins from his person. After a short conversation with Centroc involving the heightened price of the cloak, Xuphim tossed the coins on over. "Fricken robbery." he grumbled. The Akalak seemed to have quite a mercurial temperament, at least this side of him did. No quicker had he finished a short stint of bickering about the price of the cloak was he centered back on Kalila. "Crimson Edge? Heh, sounds like some kind of mercenary group." his words were meant in jest, little did he know how true they were. To think of someone was 'proper' as Kalila involved with such a group was a difficult thought to process. Then again, even Xuphim was a mercenary at the moment. His order simply had a less ominous name.

"Dhani, don't know a damn thing about them. Wait, don't they eat the men or something?" he paused, unconsciously taking a step back, "No...I think that's some other race. Ah well, don't mean much to me. Ever since I seen a horse turn into a hot blonde, a gorilla cook better than my mom, and them bat things with wings ain't nothing surprises me anymore. Priskil knows I've whipped my fair share of Human ass anyway. Way I see it is if you're alright I don't really give a damn what race you are. If you're not I'll probably be stabbin' you in the future regardless of what you were born as."

Xuphim had heard his fair share of rumors, but never had he physically met a Dhani. The lore of the various races melded together inside of his head, facts and fictions of each becoming a jumbled dictionary of improperly exchanged information. That as it was, unlike Xalet he had to go based on what he saw. His light half was a bit more prejudice, easily influenced by the mentalities he had met within the Knighthood. "Anyway, I've got to get back to doing important man things. If you ever want to get naked let me know. Just cause I've never seen a naked Dhani. Life experiences and all that. And, you know..." Xuphim almost seemed to be getting slightly uncomfortable now, though it didn't exactly seem to be centered around Kalila's newest race disclose, "...it was good meeting you and all that. Yeah, and...enjoy the cloak...whatever, later." Xuphim's eyes were looking all over now, as if searching for an exit. The large purple man finally did an about face and moved to walk away.

"It iss a mercenary group, I patch up all the ridiculouss foolss. And in my own defensse I've never eaten anyone, even though I have met a few that I certainly wanted to,"she said with a laugh after he haggled with Centroc, pleasantly pleased with her manipulation of him. Not that he really had to buy the cloak, but she could now attach a fond memory to the cloak, one that she certainly wouldn't forget. She took the offered cloak with a smile and tossed it over her shoulder, a certain fondness for the man in front of her growing. He was incredibly rude and brash, but she found it to be refreshing. It was nice to meet someone who didn't hide who they were or their desires. She hoped that she would be able to speak to him again sometime.

She had to stifle a laugh at his parting offer, clearly becoming uncomfortable and not knowing what to say. It was almost cute in a way. "I will let you get back to your man thingss, whatever that may be,"she said with a smile as he turned around and began to walk towards the exit. "I will keep in mind your offer in casse I ever get....bored asss you put it. Thankss again for the cloak, and I hope we get to sspeak again......you are quite the interessting man." She then laughed and ran the fabric of the cloak through her hands once again, a pleased smile on her face. She really did mean what she said, not the offer part but the hope that she would get to speak to him again. She wanted to know more about his life as a Knight, and his own race as well. There was plenty of time for that though, and who knew what the future held?

oocWe can end this here if you want to, and I apologize for taking so long and it being so short. I really do love Xalet though lol
