Sheva was staring at the fire embarrassed, the hug had caught both of them off guard. She stared at the ground for a few seconds avoiding eye contact yet again, her cheeks now a bright pink. When Nate rubbed the back of his neck she mentally melted, but quickly she pushed the thought out of her mind. She needed to stop acting weird incase she made him anymore uncomfortable then he may already be.
She realized that this was the second time she had ever been in physical contact with Nate, the first being when they shook hands the day they met. She thought back to the hug, he had been so warm, as if the cold had completely ignored him. Stop! She mentally scolded herself as she returned to reality, it was obvious he was having second thoughts already but it was the thought that counted, well that's something humans said often. Sheva didn't quite understand how a thought could be worth more than an action but that wasn't important at the moment.
She smiled now playing with her hair again, pulling a strand and then pulling it behind her ear as she stared at the fire. "Don't worry, I don't plan on leaving just yet." she said with a smile. She couldn't really understand his reluctance to leave his mother since she had no memories of her own, but she imagined it was like leaving someone you were bonded to, in which case she could see why he was having second thoughts.
Slowly the young kelvic stood up wiping some of the snow off of her clothes, "Anyways we should be getting back soon. The fire is dying out and it's getting pretty late." she said as she put her bow over her shoulder. Once Nate had gathered his stuff she scooped up a handful of snow and threw it onto the dying fire which hissed at it's own demise. Picking up her kill from earlier which she had almost forgotten as she stared up at the moon, it was very bright tonight. She realized that Nate may not be able to see as well as her in the dark forest but it seemed to be light enough.
