She didn't understand the pride that raced trough her with Ethaefal's simple 'yes'. She was happy that he praised her. In fact, she was happy that her teacher praised her. She never formed a student-teacher relationship, she only learned form friends and her step-dad, and neither could be considered close to this. She wasn't sure if Eridanus felt the same, but her new friend obviously became something special for the child. His aid probably helped little girl to form her path one day.

She wasn't even aware of the problem he spoke about. Her usage of Flux was clumsy and reflexive, no matter how much her dad tried to make her understand the art. She realized she needed some meditation to get it to its place. She wasn't aware of tiny pieces of her astral net, of little pieces she had to control to speed up her performance and maybe lower amount of wasted Djed in process. Eridanus' performance seemed much more confident than her, mostly because of speed. Only now, watching him, she realized that pain she felt in arm was due to possibility of it dislocating. Luckily, it only got her step back a bit when she punched.

She thought a bit. "I guess not...", she said, unsure. She knew she was going to regret not remembering the question when she faces some problem, but it's problem for future. She learned a lot that day, finally coordinating her Flux with a simple punch and maintaining balance... she had no more questions for now.

"In that case..." Eridanus mumbled as he walked forward to further observe the tree. Pouring more djed into the shield he formed over the trunk, he further smoothened the surface of the djed construct, enhancing the quality of the shield so that it would last longer. He tweaked some of the djed threads in the shield, using them to form glyphs that would increase the longevity of the shield, as well as implementing safety features to prevent the shield from suddenly losing power.

"Lesson is complete. You are free to continue self-practising on the tree if you wish, the shield will last at least four bells from now. After that it will still be there, but it will not be in a pristine condition such as now. Take heed."

With that, he picked up the book again, strolling back into the building as he read about obscure scientific names and phrases and techniques. It had certainly been a wonderful workout for him, and the change of pace as well as fresh air allowed him to refresh himself and continue his search for answers.

NOTICE: I am currently mostly inactive til August. As such, guild activities are temporarily halted (watch out for major revamps, changes and organizations when I'm back in full force). Any activity with Eri will be rather slow as well, but I am slowly readjusting back to "Mizahar life", so to speak, so do PM me if we have a thread that I left hanging and we'll talk.

Her first lesson was complete. She smiled. Maybe University wasn't such a bad thing after all. Ethaefal was already fairly far by the time she scared melancholy away. "Thank you!!", the girl yelled to Ethaefal as he was leaving.

At first, Nai'shee just sat to rest, thinking. She was exhausted, but she didn't want the shield to go to waste. She would rest and go for some food and drink and come back later to finish her practice. She gently touched the tree, leaving glowing marks on it upon touch. Magic was surely an interesting thing.

That day went on in shedding much more sweat. She was excited. She felt like discovering a whole new universe in combat. While she trained it was as nothing else existed, hunger, fatigue, loneliness, everything would disappear. There were only her, the tree and her punches.

She will finally be able to protect.

But there's still long way to that achievement.

This was a fun read! Your PCs seem to form a great dynamic. It was particularly amusing to read about Nai'shee refusing to believe it was Eri. I also appreciate the amount of detail you put into your skill practice. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to PM me!
