Turning Illness to Happiness (Shyam)

After deciding to make plans with someone she met the previous day, Blizzard decides to help turn his ill feeling into enjoyment since she knows where he's coming from.

(This is a thread from Mizahar's fantasy roleplay forums. Why don't you register today? This message is not shown when you are logged in. Come roleplay with us, it's fun!)

Considered one of the most mysterious cities in Mizahar, Alvadas is called The City of Illusions. It is the home of Ionu and the notorious Inverted. This city sits on one of the main crossroads through The Region of Kalea.

Blizzard bent up from the furry texture of the street "An Inn? Yes, as a matter of fact I do. I'm staying in the Wolf's Cave. You're bound to fit in there. It's a refuge for our kind." He looked... troubled. Like he had something stirring around in his head. "I'm sorry, are you okay?" He didn't looked well at all. She had seen several cases like it in her prey that she had hunted.

"No, I don't know of a place where people fight. I do know of a temple, but it's Ionu's Temple and you would be lucky to get out of here alive if you fought in it. If you would like to run though, we can always morph and run through the city. I think it would be fun. I've been itching to shed this skin for sometime now. And if you're up for it, I'm quite skilled in fighting."

She hadn't been in actual fight with someone in a while, and she wouldn't let herself get rusty. But then again, she hadn't ran in her animal form in a while either so both sounded good right now.

Great. Could we go to the Gaping...Maw? My stuff is there. I need to find Aesir also. The run would be nice and thank you for.. training with me. You are nice. He smiled brightly at her his face relaxing into the normal easy-go-lucky expression he normally had. I also need a place to buy... weapons. I need a bow and arrows. I need them to hunt. Do you also know where I can buy clothes.... I need new ones... My Bryda and Katinu are not so good for this place. Normal clothes. I don't.... change when I do not have to. No so tiring.

I need to find Aesir soon. Staying apart this long.... I hope he is OK. Yet again he is faster then most eagles so he should be alright. He put his hand underneath his Katinu, feeling for the Talon Sword that was usually there, before remembering that he had left it outside of town. Suddenly feeling more anxious and worried, Shyam was filled with energy and the need to run. Without betraying a sign as to his mental state of mind, smiled an empty smile at Blizzard. Please can we hurry? I really need to get to the Gaping.... thing. I will run without changing. I can run for long enough but please show me the way. You can change if you want, but if you do not please keep up with me.

Did this Kelvic think she was incapable of keeping up with one such as himself? One look at her and the first word she thought of was fit. Well, besides beauty. "I'll morph. That way you can keep up." Being a Kelvic, she didn't mind being nude in front of someone. Being a Kelvic, surely her actions would be excused if she got in trouble. She quickly undressed, shoving her clothes in her pack "I can carry this in my mouth. It's not heavy at all. Remember, I can't talk once I morph."

With this, her slightly tan skin turned into snow white fur with black rosettes. Her nails turned into black claws, her hands and feet to paws. Her feline teeth growing slightly in size. Blizzard's true self revealed. She softly growled then grabbed the pack in her mouth. With a nod, she let her animal side take over and she instantly took a turn for the wall. If she could navigate her way around the wall she should be able to reach the Gaping Maw.

With a deep breath, she broke into a slow trot. There was no way his human form could reach beyond fifteen miles per hour let alone keep up with her forty five mph plus speeds. She'd take it easy on him, since it could take all night to navigate through this place. Dusk was setting in and the streetlamps were beginning to turn on. The rays hit her coat then bounced off again giving it a reddish tint to it.

Turning Illness to Happiness (Shyam)

Shyam ran after the Snow Tiger. He felt that she was being nice to him and keeping a pace that he was able to keep up with. He kept up with her for the first few minutes, letting his body follow and keep up with her automatically. He focused instead on how his body moved. Lately he had neglected his exercises and he felt that his body was performing slightly poorer then usual. He concentrated on keeping his breathing normal and letting his body moved in a coordinated fashion. He had learnt this after training for many years and he worked on it as often as he could. While it was an art that was nowhere near perfection most people would have problems keeping up with him, although transformed Kelvic were another story altogether.

After following her for a few minutes he felt that it was taking too long and his blood was pumping after staying still for so long. His headache had almost disappeared and he felt like flying. I understand, that you are being kind to me, but could you speed up abit more. He speeded up to 25 miles per hour then slowed down again. Could you move at that speed for the rest of the time. Please. I really want to breathe.

The few people they passed by stared. He was unsure whether it was because of the Snow Tiger, with the beautiful fur that seemed tainted with the color of blood next to him, or because there was a human racing with it. Either way it was of no interest to him.

Blizzard grunted a low growl which was pretty much her snow leopard form way of saying "Sure thing." although unless he spoke feline he wouldn't understand. She quickened her pace He really should have morphed. she shrugged the thought away then really began to break into a slow sprint, bypassing him and leading once more. The sun was getting lower and lower to the point where her coat was no longer tinted red, but rather a grey hinting night was soon to come.

The buildings changed again causing her to skid to a halt inches in front of a shelf thing nailed into a building. She darted around the cart then quickened her pace once more with an angered grunt. She shrugged it off then continued, her steady heartbeat pumping blood through her body then she saw it. She was... having fun! The familiar Gaping Maw.

She slowed down to a dead stop then dropped her pack from her mouth with heavy breaths, then morphed, swiftly putting her clothes back on before anyone could raise their eyebrows. She was really tired now. Especially from shifting twice in less than a few hours. Blizzard swallowed hard then sighed "There it is. The Gaping Maw. Head out that opening there and you'll be on your way to escape this city." With a huff, she grabbed her almost empty pack then slugged it across her shoulder "You know where to find me." She smiled gingerly, looking into his golden eyes then turned back into the direction of the city's heart ready to stumble across The Wolf's Cave somehow.

Turning Illness to Happiness (Shyam)

Postby Shyam Kuromiya on July 17th, 2012, 4:57 am

He watched her leave. She seemed to be very tired. Shifting that often it was natural. Before she disappeared completely, he went to a nearby building and sat with his back to it and he whistled a soft tune. Letting one leg lay straight on the ground and pulling up his leg, he waited supporting his stretched out arm on his leg. He heard the cry of a falcon before Aesir came and rested on his arm. She was a beautiful falcon. Her claws held onto his arm gently. This was to stop them from ripping into his flesh, but letting her have enough of a grip not to fall off.

He looked into the direction that Blizzard had gone in and he was glad to see she was still visible. He pointed at Blizzard's back and murmured softly to Aesir in Nari, the few commands that he had taught her.Follow her. She stops. Stay. Call for me. Go. Shyam watched her fly before, he let his head hang. The little amount of comfort that he had cultivated was gone and now he was back to having a headache that threatened to make him cry. His body was exhausted from running after Blizzard, but he was recovering already. He got up, feeling kind of shaky. He hated feeling weak but it was better then not feeling anything at all.

He walked up to the Gaping May remembering how ominous it looked on the way in. Surely a city of this magnitude should have more then one entrance... But this god(dess) seems to like fun. He walked through the Maw and walked for 10 minutes, his body relaxing with each step, his headache fading. His vitality returned to him and he felt like flying. He jogged slightly for awhile as the trees around him thickened. Knowing the way around here he searched around, for what was his. He finally saw the tree that he was looking for.

It was normal apart from the fact that it was very thick with leaves and branches. Absolutely no light passed through and getting through them to the top would be an annoyance that most would avoid and the branches that were closest to the ground were more then four metres high. The perfect place for him to put what he wanted safe. He moved back a few metres and removed his Katinu and put it on the ground freeing up his arms for easier movement. He then ran to the tree jumped towards the tree trunk, pushed off against it and twisting in the air he reached for a branch. He barely managed to grab it. He grabbed the branch with his other arm then pulled his upper body then lower body up. Kneeling on the branch he climbed up slowly, testing branches to make sure they could support his weight. He got more careful the further up he went as the branches became thinner and weaker.

Somewhere three quarters of the way up he found what he was looking for. Two pouches with all he needed and a Talon Sword. He had stuffed his spare clothes in the other pouch, and the talon sword was safely balanced on two branches. He took the 2 pouches and and tied the around his waist with the belts attacked to them. He tucked the sword under the belt and climbed back down slowly. When he couldn't climb down any further, he threw the sword down then jumped down rolling to soften the impact. He took the sword again and tucked it under his belt. He then took the Katinu and wrapped it around his body again. He then walked back in the direction of the city, hoping that Aesir had found the building Blizzard was staying in.

EndI think this is where our thread ends. We would have to make another thread with the location (The Wolf's Cave) in the title for us continue rping in the building. Feel free to post once more.

The street she was walking down had been severely damaged from the Djed Storm and still hadn't been rebuilt properly. Or if it was, it was probably some illusionists' production. It fascinated her how one person could create such images to fool your mind. I should learn how to do that sometime. Maybe after I find my master. Blizzard still hadn't found her master or one she wanted to bond with besides one who abandoned her. Abandonment was all she got repaid with in life.

She was still searching though. The need to find a bond was growing stronger with every passing month and she could feel it inside. It wasn't a pleasant feeling either. Maybe she needed to head somewhere more chaotic. Not full of illusions, but full of real action. Maybe even some gore? Until that travel route was official, she wasn't going anywhere. After all, who knows what's gonna pop up in a ridiculous city like Alvadas.

In a few chimes, Night would be upon them. The sun was setting fast and she seriously needed to find The Wolf's Cave. If there was any place she didn't want to be was in the Alvadas streets at night. She noticed a presence like she felt she was being watched. She looked around her yet saw no one. It was probably just her mind or Ionu them self playing tricks on her. Her pace quickened double time but she soon relaxed.

Being relaxed and smiling won't provoke any illusionists to mess with you, Blizt. She warily smiled showing no care for the rest of the world, laughing when the buildings changed again. No Wolf's Cave nearby this time. That was good though, because she could enjoy the scenery a little longer, she supposed. Passing a statue that threw some very rude insults at her, she pressed on with a smile.

Flapping wings made her smile once more. Flapping wings? She hoped it was no Zith. She looked up to see a falcon closely flying behind her. Illusions, no doubt. She turned down another street with joy when she saw the familiar place. She went dashing for the entrance of The Wolf's Cave, then stopped as her feet stood right in front of the entrance to see the falcon fly off. Why was that bird following me?

Turning Illness to Happiness (Shyam)

Postby Shyam Kuromiya on July 17th, 2012, 5:42 pm

EndOK but should I start the new one cause I really don't know what kind of place this is supposed to be.
The streets were becoming dark. The dark alleys seemed like they were hiding something. Shapes moved and twisted. Slithering over each other. A scream cried out from the distance. Moving at a comfortable pace, Shyam ignored all these things. The headache that haunted him had returned, and was pounding away in his head. Occasionally it turned into a sharp blade that seemed to want to rip his head apart. His face had turned pale and he was sweating slightly. Feeling like he needed to puke he hoped that Aesir had found the place and was waiting for him.

Just as he thought this he heard the falcon's cry. He whistled softly under his breath, before stopping and removing his arm from under the Katinu. He held it out to the side of his body where the falcon landed on it. He looked at it in the eye understanding that it had found the place. For a moment he wondered why it had not stayed at the place but he realized the falcon had noticed the dangers posed by the city and it had wanted to return to him and lead him itself.

Find and lead. The falcon jumped up from his arm and flew high in the sky. It circled for a bit looking for what he needed, and after finding it, Aesir cried out and flew in its direction. Shyam started running after the bird. Going through alleys that he had avoided before. He focused solely on the falcon above him. He ran past illusions of things that normally would have made him stare and wonder. A man walking around with his head held under his arm and a street which seemed to be made of fur. Smiling slightly he raced faster hoping the bird had really found what he was looking for and that it was not moving that often. The bird flew around in random patterns and sometimes stopped and circled a wide area, leaving him to guess that the building had changed it's position.

Finally after chasing it for awhile, the bird swooped down to the ground. He ran to where he saw it go down and he came to the infamous Wolf's Cave. Come. The bird flapped over to him and landed on his shoulder, gripping tightly onto it, but thanks to the Katinu he didn't have to worry about its talons ripping his skin. He walked up to the building and entered into a place that smelled like all kinds of animals.

Good first thread you guys. Its interesting to see how two kelvics would interact together, and it seems that Shyam is quite perplexed by the whole deal going on in Alvadas.
