Home of the Konti people, this ivory city is built of native konti stone half in and half out of the sea. Its borders touch the Silverwood, and stretch upwards towards Silver Lake, home of the infamous konti vision water. [Lore]

L'orlei was waist deep in the water, her bare feet sinking into the muddy bottom of the pond. She had discarded her shoes at the edge of the pond, but didn't worry about her clothing getting wet. Not that being wet bothered her, or really any Konti, in the slightest. L'orlei had her bag with her and was approaching a cluster of plants, beautiful violet blue flowers floating on the top of the water. They were called Chali, and most of the plant was actually underwater. L'orlei was always collecting different types of plants, and this one was supposed to have many uses.

She needed the whole thing, so once she arrived at the plant, she dunked her head underwater and started fishing around for the base. Luckily, she could breath underwater, so she had all the time in the world. L'orlei smiled as a school of fish darted away from her, watching them wiggle their tails as they swam away at full speed. They had nothing to fear from her, but still they swam away as fish did. After they were gone L'orlei dug around in the mud trying to get as many of the roots as possible from the plant before she pulled it out of the ground. Once she had it she carefully put it into her bag before going for another.

ImageAfter a few chimes of collecting, L'orlei resurfaced and headed back to the shore. She washed the remaining bits of mud from her hands and feet before wringing her hair and clothes out. L'orlei reached into the bag, pulling out one of the flowers and examining it. It had fifteen petals and looked almost like a litte star.. a violet star, but a star nonetheless. The plant was very beautiful, one of L'orlei's favorites, and it's uses were also beneficial to her work. Sometimes her concoctions didn't smell the best, and the flower added a lovely aroma to her mixtures. The rest of it had other uses which she could market as well, or just keep for herself.

Deciding to take a break from her foraging, L'orlei lied back against the grass to take a short nap. The afternoon sun would dry her clothes and by the time she woke up, she would be ready to go. She knew she should probably keep working, but it was such a nice day, and L'orlei was tired of work, even if foraging in the woods was her favorite part of the job. Soon enough, the young Konti drifted to sleep.

A Woodland Meeting (Galene)

Postby Galene on July 14th, 2012, 5:53 pm

The island air was dry, a normal day on the island as Galene was well aware of. She had planned to go swimming, dive into the waters and get lost in their waves but something had stopped her. She had seen a small bird, and followed it into the forest. It was strange to her, the colors of the bird were something she hadn't seen before but she had lost it long ago and didn't seem to be coming across it again. The bird had been a vibrant shade of red with scattered feathers of navy and teal, each color just vibrant enough to catch Galene's eye and now she was wandering around the forest for it. Swimming would have to wait until after the discovery of the small animal, or at least until she found another body of water. The forest was quiet aside from her own loud footsteps across the ground, kicking at bits of dirt with every step she took. If there were any smaller fauna in the area at this point there weren't anymore, though the thought had never crossed the Konti's mind that perhaps she had scared the bird off herself.

The sky was quite clear, which brought a soft smile to her face. It wasn't abnormally hot, a comfortable temperature really. Being out of the water was never an ideal for Galene, but she didn't mind it on this particular day. The air was cool, dry but cool island breezes were welcoming to her. Her own soft white dress danced around thin pale legs as she pondered what she was going to do. Having completely forgotten about the bird, she assumed finding a water source should be her first goal. A swim would be nice on any day, today being no exception. An adventure, anything really. Distractions from a dull island life were always welcome to Galene, she longed to leave but at the same time there was still plenty of things she hadn't seen on the island yet. And she had no intentions on going alone- so there was absolutely no rush. The island was quite familiar to her, even when she got lost finding her way back only took an hour or two. Which was very lucky for Galene because she was very much so lost at that point.

Passing a few more tree trunks, each as thick with leaves as the next she she came into sight of a water source. A bright smile crossed her lips, as she considered the possible adventures of the day. Leaning against a tree she noticed something else- a girl. She laid between a few trees, blonde hair and translucent scales across her skin was a give away to her Konti heritage as well. Galene blinked a few times, tilting her head. It wasn't very often she ran into her own kind in the forest- either it didn't happen or they were with a friend or small group. Why was this girl alone and who was she? Galene didn't feel threatened approaching her, the single word that popped in her head as she stared at the girl was 'knowledgeable'. That could have lead to a variety of things, but Galene decided to dismiss the negative and give the girl the benefit of the doubt. She tilted her head again taking a few more steps to find the girl to be asleep. "Uhm..." she started, kneeling down next to her not wanting to touch her or really wake her up, but curious nonetheless. "Hello..." she tried, biting her lip very torn between leaving the girl be and waking her.
NoteI looked through L'orlei's past interactions, and knowledgable was the more prominent overlapping trait between them that I saw, I can change that if you had a better trait in mind for those she associates with.

OOC: There is a coding error in your post. The last line of your post reads:

Code: Select all
[/frame][/frametrans][/center][/color][/googlefont]

You closed you your codes in the wrong order and it's causing some freaky stuff to happen. Change the last line to this and it should fix everything:

Code: Select all

OOCKnowledgeable works. Those past threads were a season ago, but generally L'orlei either associates herself with the healers of the Opal Order, to learn from them, or with her customers. But the healers are more common, since the customers are only one time things, and they could be considered knowledgeable. Healers might also have worked.. or maybe.. travlers? For the customers? *shrug*

L'orlei was having a peaceful nap, her mind full of dreams of her mother. Not the bad ones, for a change, the ones of when her mother left, but good ones. She dreamed of when she and her mother used to play in the woods. She dreamed of swimming in a pond, just like the one she was napping next to. Those had been the happiest days of her life, before her mother left suddenly.

Her pleasant dreams would not last long, and she was soon brought out of her sleep by a curious feminine voice. The first thing she noticed when she awoke was that her clothes were still damp, which meant she hadn't slept long. That was disappointing.

Then her mind recalled the reason she had been awoken, and L'orlei lazily looked up toward the wound of the voice. She wasn't really afraid, never before had anyone on the island threatened her, and it gave her an unhealthy sense of safety even when encountering strangers out in the woods. Of course she was certain she had little to fear when she spotted the source of the hello, a konti like herself.

Galene

The name whispered into her mind, though she wasn't familiar with it. L'orlei wasn't the most social of Konti, and she didn't know everyone on the island, but L'orlei smiled as if she recognized her and rolled over onto her hands and knees.

"Galene," she said, assuming the Konti wouldn't be surprised that she knew her name. They were konti, afterall, they knew all sorts of things. "I'm sorry, I um.. wasn't expecting to find anyone out here. I must look a mess."

L'orlei did look a mess. Mud and grass stuck to her damp clothes, and her hair had bits of grass and flora from the pond stuck in it. "I'm L'orlei," she introduced herself as she tried to brush some of the dirt off her arms.
