On the Petal of the Celestial Dance, sits a two story lodge made of shaved and carved slats and logs, and fitted together in such a way, that there are no gaps. There are several open windows, and open doorway, as with all buildings, and no glass whatsoever. First walking in, a busy, cramped room could be found immediately to the left of a stairwell, full of charts, scrolls, drawings, and maps. A large table can be found taking up the majority of the room, and is the predominate work space. Beyond this room is a small cooking area and a cramped water closet, as well as a storage area filled with traveling gear, as well as various sizes of sextants hanging from the walls. Up the stairs leads to two small bedrooms, and a balcony, which wraps around the entire second floor, that overlooks the rest of the Petal and has a clear view of the Shrine to Zintila.
This business is known as the Sextants & Scrolls, and has only existed since The Spires recovered from the Djed Storm of 512 AV. The Memory realized that with the buddings relations with other cities, and the opening of the city, people would have a need for maps, especially travelers and visitors. So, they commissioned to have the business built, and provided the starting resources. Crahk goes out into the wilderness to map the surrounding areas, as well as interviewing travelers, comparing maps, teaching his craft to any who wish to learn, and selling maps, sextants, charts, hourglasses, spyglasses, compasses, and other such supplies. The majority of these tools are imported from Wind Reach as The Spires lacks the ability to work with glass or metal.
The balcony above is the main reason for the structure's location. At each of the main four cardinal directions is a large gap in the canopy, allowing gazers to view the night sky at any given time. The balcony is dotted with tables and chairs to allow for the cartographers to chart the stars and their paths. Sextants and Scrolls is currently working on building a collection of the entire night sky for the entire year round. The two bedrooms upstairs are reserved for Crahk's assistants to live in, and while there's not much room, he allows them to customize it as they see fit. Crahk
