Summer 18th, 512AV (Night)

The waitress led them to a table set for two then smiled at her and Shyam. Blizzard pulled a seat out, then gracefully sat down, pulling her seat in all in one swift motion. "What can I get you guys to drink?" The menu's were decorated elegantly, but as she looked at it, she quickly ordered her drink "I'll have a water, please." The waitress' eyes wandered over to Shyam "And you, sir?"

Blizzard opened the menu, having ordered pork her last visit, she decided she'd try something else this time around. Her options were chicken or beef unless she wanted to repeat last time's order. They were all the same cost, so it didn't matter much of what she got. She fingered the flowery design in the right corner then watched as the waitress left. She looked up at the rose to see a white one on the table. Good. No violence. She grinned at the thought.

Not wanting the rest of the night to be filled with silence, she soon asked some questions "So you said your mother couldn't teach you anymore. If you don't mind me asking, what did you mean by that?" that was something that had been bothering her. Was she dead? Did she abandon him to? Was she too ill to teach? Thoughts whirred around her head as her stone blue eyes grew fiery and twinkled slightly. One that would hint she was anxious, but was patient. She found herself to have lots of patience for Shyam, but with others, not so much.

This made her wonder why. So many possibilities spiked into her had at once. She rolled her shoulders then shrugged the thoughts away as she fiddled with a strand of her golden hair. I need to brush my hair again when I get back. Not very beautiful at all.

[The Withering Rose] A Young Night to Grab A Bite(Shyam)

Postby Shyam Kuromiya on July 20th, 2012, 9:07 pm

Shyam sat down in his chair, and observed the room. It was lit very gently. Enough light for everyone to see, but dark enough to give everyone a sense of privacy. The air was filled with the scent of food, something that made his stomach growl and he mouth water. A glass of wine please. He saw her smile at the rose on the table. Looking around he saw two other rose types. He wondered what they were for and decided to ask later.

He took the menu that Blizzard had laid down and saw that there were 3 available dishes. He was ravenous after not eating for 3 days and decided he wanted to have the pork.

He pretended he was busy reading the menu while he thought of a way to answer the question. He did not want to remember those days of misery. Seeing his mother laying in bed dying slowly, day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute. Seeing it once was bad enough but recalling it did not seem like it was worth it. He thought of what to say.

Blizzard could tell he wasn't at ease when she asked the question. Not one bit despite his efforts to try and cover it up. He hesitated when she asked the question, figuring it was best just to leave it alone. "If it's too much of a sensitive topic, don't force yourself to answer it. I apologize for asking as I really should know better." Blizzard didn't want to assume things so she just dropped the topic completely and in time the waitress came back to order their food "What will you guys be having for dinner tonight?"

With a hard swallow, she looked at the woman "I'll have beef, please. But if you could, just drop the seasoning. Please." She eyed the bar which seemed to be a bit empty. Lucky for her, she wouldn't be joining in this time either. Stealthily observing the restaurant, Blizzard could hear a couple swapping 'I love you' s, a few glass clanks, laughter, and even a heated conversation. Oh the entertainment the Withering Rose brought.

The waitress walked away so Blitz assumed Shyam had ordered. She tilted her head back, letting it gently touch the chair then leaned up once more. This day had been full of tiring events. Covering up her mouth with her hand, she slightly yawned. She was sorta regretting now ordering wine, but it was a gold miza she could save. She repeatedly ran her right thumb over her finger's nails. Blizzard would be sure to sleep in her animal form tonight. It was dying to break out and send her on a nice long hunt. This beef could satisfy her hunger only for a bit. What she really needed, was a big elk. But she was more than a thousand miles away from her home. She could buy a chicken then watch it run, then hunt it through the streets.

She pushed these thoughts aside to keep Shyam from growing bored "So what are your thoughts about this place, so far?"

The wolf Kelvic realized he had made the uncomfortable. He wondered if he should answer the question anyway, just to make her feel better, but he decided not to for now. He would do that when he knew her better. I am not.. force myself. It is a wierd question. I answer it one day.

The waitress then came and asked for their order. Please can I have, the pork. Also glass of wine please. The restaurant seemed empty, and too quiet. From the way Blizzard had described it, he had come here with the preconceived notion that, it would be a loud and rowdy place. Where people fought and shouted and had fun. Much like an average bar.

This place seemed more dangerous. It seemed like the kind of place people came to when they wanted time alone or a quiet place to be with someone, a place to meet for shady business deals and a place where you were more likely to die from poisoning then from being beaten to death. It was an interesting and amusing place and he wanted to meet the person who owned it. That would be an interesting meeting.

He watched the waitress walk away, until he heard Blizzard yawn. It seemed she was either tired or bored. If he let his male ego get in the way he would assume she was just tired, although there was the minuscule chance that she was bored as well. Come on mate. Entertain the lady. She is beautiful and she seems like she could be fun to hang around with.

Quiet. I th...ought it is more loud. Noisy. With people fighting and shouting and having fun. Is it always quiet? He wished he had left his Katinu at home and gotten a regular shirt instead. It was uncomfortable to stay in this, and he hadn't removed the sword as he usually would. Excuse me.

He pushed back his chair and stood up. He reached up to his neck and untied the knot there, proceeding to remove the Katinu and drape it on the back of his chair. He reached down to his thigh, for the small belt that held his sheath to his thigh and untied that. He then went to his waist and removed the sheath entirely, which he leaned against the table.

Sorry, it is very not very nice to sit with that.

"Look, if it makes you uncomfortable, you don't have to answer it at all anytime. I'd rather you be comfortable than having to answer one of my nosy questions." Blizzard was serious and looked him dead in the eyes. There was no hint in her voice of it being a joking matter, and absolutely no hint of sarcasm in any way. Her face was critical and she meant what she had said. Is that care? This city had softened a lot more. Maybe it was because the coldness of Avanthal reminded her of the Northern Wastes which had triggered her bloodlust from the getgo? Or maybe Avanthal prevented her from thawing out in which a warmer Alvadas did the job. You still are the Blizzard from back home. You just have developed an actual friend, possibly? One that didn't threaten to kill you from the start.

"Oh no. The Withering Rose wouldn't stand for that mess for long. The bar isn't as full as usual and I think all the drunkards are on the other street. It was only noisy because the drunkard knocked over the table and shattered the plate. Then he began shouting and yeah. I should've moved to another table though because the rose was black. I knew it was coming." She was glad it wasn't as noisy as before. It was peaceful and maybe she could eat this time without someone breathing down her neck. Oh, how your attitude can get you into scrambles.

"And you can have fun if you keep it toned down. It's more of a place for a relaxing feel when you need to wind down and actually enjoy your meal in peace." Blizzard thought about taking what she said back but after she had said it, she just shrugged it off. Watching as he removed his equipment, she looked around the room once more to see friendly chattering and to hear low laughter. The waitress came back with their drinks. She sat the wine in front of Shyam and the water in front of Blizzard all the while obtaining a bright and warm smile. "Thank you. Do you know how long until the food will come out?" the waitress looked at her "In a few chimes actually." The woman walked off.

"I'm petching hungry!" No one unless they knew Vani would be able to understand her but she honestly didn't care. Her stomach merely rumbled and was only a faint sound her feline ears could barely pick up. You need a hunt, Blitz. Fancy a really early morning hunt? Her mind debated about whether going and taking a chicken then leaving a gold miza then hunting it down or just buying already sliced meat. She ran a hand through her hair then smiled at Shyam "No it's fine."

[The Withering Rose] A Young Night to Grab A Bite(Shyam)

Postby Shyam Kuromiya on July 22nd, 2012, 6:26 pm

I am not uncomfortable. Just that tonight is a fun night, and talking about sad things is not fun. Smiling slightly he looked at her with his head cocked abit to the left. Watching her, he saw that she was not joking and her voice brooked not argument. She is a fun lass, and he wondered what kind of reactions he could get out of her.

Sitting back he twiddled with his braid, while he thought for a few seconds. It occurred to him that he knew next to nothing about this woman next to him. She could be anything, but what interested him the most was what she knew. Where she had been and who she had met. What did they teach her. He wondered what he could learn from her.

For now it was best to get to know her so that when he needed to he could learn everything he could from her. If that did not work he could always meet other people. There was no shortage of people in the world who wanted to be nice and helpful resulting in them being gullible fools, but even the greatest fool was careful, so not hurrying would be the best.

Shyam smiled, he took his wine glass and took a small sip. It tasted nice. He was no wine connoisseur, but this wine tasted great to him. He ignored her little outburst and asked her instead, Where do you come from? It looks like you come from a very cold place. I come from Wind Reach. A very fun place.

SorrySorry for the slow posts. Real life gets in the way. :)

Blizzard agreed when he explained he didn't want it to be a sad night, which she showed by a nod. Fumbling with his hair, it looked as if he was thinking, yet she could be possibly wrong. "Hrm. I was actually born in the Northern Wastes where there is barely anything besides large prey and predators. I'm not talking about the common small deer. I mean huge Caribou three times me in animal form plus some. I then for a specific reason moved south to Avanthal where it's covered in ice and snow year round."

The memories of her home flooded back to her bringing back so many memories "Avanthal has a different idea of fun. To be honest, I don't think they appreciated me running through the streets in my other form chasing a chicken and scaring little kids, but hey I still had to feed my other half and fulfill the need to chase. They're not as loose on their rules as other cities are. They're very strict and anyone caught taking advantage of our kind would be arrested on the spot. Sounds cool, but it does get boring after a while so that's how I ended up here. A need to find a bondmate and adventure."

Figuring she could return the question and curiosity, she figured she'd ask about Wind Reach "So, what's Wind Reach all about? Is it really windy or just a fancy name?" She tried to picture a giant rocky mountain with fog shrouding the top and it being really windy. Of coarse this was only what she could piece together by the name. Blizzard had no real idea of what Wind Reach was, what it looked like, or what the people looked like. Only a false image.

It is a fun place. Everyone likes life. We have fun, enjoy life and.... uhmmmm people do not.... we do not have very old people in Wind Reach. People do not live long. We celebrate? old people.

He enjoyed talking about his home. It made him remember the good times when life was not so stressful. It also made him remember stupid adventures he got into. The city has a beautiful forest. But it is dangerous. Winter is very very cold and very long. We have big ice....things and the change. Summer is hot but short. We have many of storms.

People make these Glass things and they are beautiful. The people who make them are called Avora. Then we have the Endal. They ride these big eagles. They are amazing. I want to be like them one day. He remembered the huge Wind Eagles that the Endal rode. They were huge beautiful creatures and he enjoyed talking to them. They told him stories of places that they had seen from the sky and he imagined when he would be able to ride one. Flying would be fun and it was perhaps the only thing he wanted more then learning stuff.

I'll have to add that to my Must See list. Eagle riders, cold winters? Sounds like my kind of place. Blizzard smiled "Sounds like a cool place. Cold and long winters? I might have to make a stop there during the next upcoming winter. Hopefully, I'd have found my bondmate by then." The Kelvic took a small drink of her water then smiled as the waitress brought their food out. The beef plate was sat in front of her and the waitress sat the pork in front of Shyam "Looks great! Thanks." the waitress nodded then walked off.

Tilting her head down to take in the aroma to the full extent, she took a large breath then grinned Smells delicious. Heat radiated from the beef as she straightened herself out once more then picked up the fork to begin her dinner. Blizzard was a faster eater than most; a trait she picked up in the Norther Wastes. Withing a few chimes the beef was gone. She wiped off her mouth with the napkin nearby "I was starving." She smiled at Shyam.

"So you said people ride eagles? Exactly how big are these eagles? I mean, if people can ride them?" She imagined them to be pretty petching big if they could carry a human. If they could carry a human they more than likely could carry off a snow leopard too. She swallowed hard at the idea.

Using his knife and fork he slowly cut the pork into small pieces and at it. He liked to take his time and enjoy food. You never know when life's little pleasures will disappear so why not take your time. He thought about Blizzard's question but decided he would have clear up a few things first.

I think you do not... understand what I mean. Yes. Wind Reach is cold and long in winter. But you can die very easily. It is not just cold. Storms happen alot. It snow so bad you can not see where you are going. People die because they do not know how to survive. I said old people are very little. Because many die. Summer is VERY hot. You need alot of water. Alot or you die. We also have a desert near it. Also It is built on a.... fire mountain. The does not shoot fire but sometimes it shakes. He remembered the few earthquakes he had felt on Mt.Skyinarta it was not fun at all, but now in hindsight they were kinda funny.

He put down his utensils and sat back and took small sips of his wine, while he thought about how he would describe the wind eagles. They are smart. Very smart. My father has.....had a friend, who is an Endal. He said that the Wind Eagles can speak to you in your head. The Endal speaks to the Wind Eagle in Nari. He also said that the Eagles are smart like a person. They are also very big. They have wings that are 40 feet long. They could easily take you, when you are like that or when you change to tiger. They are also very dangerous. Never fight one. They have huge nails and head. He chuckled slightly while thinking about the first time he saw one. He almost had a heart attack. But seeing that magnificent bird flying was breath taking.

He returned to eating his pork while Blizzard mulled over that. The pork was absolutely divine. It almost melted on his mouth. It was so soft and juicy while the spices enhanced the taste. He was happy Blizzard had brought him here and he would thank her when he could.
