The Stained Pelt, located outside Riverfall, is owned and run by the same family that owns Loads of Leather. The average person knows of the shop in the city which sells its wares, but only hunters and such are aware that another branch of the shop is were all of the leather goods are locally made. The one outside the city is a combination hunters stop, and leather worker, found on the outskirts of Riverfall, not even within the city. For obvious reasons, the two go together quite well. It is actually a burrow, dug into the dirt ground, with a small entrance not clearly displayed, though well known by hunters. Often people walk right past the place, without even knowing it is there. It has a low ceiling, making tall Akalak brush there head as they move inside, making dirt and dust fall, but its space is used well. When you first walk in, there are various things hanging from the roof, which must be avoided, and a small bar behind which the owners make deals from. Most of the work is done in the back, since the front area for customers is rather small. In the back, is a room in which the vats are kept, with a vent to let out the fumes, along with the small rooms that the owners use, one for the married couple, and one for there son, and another small workroom in which the crafting is done. On the surface, there are kept a few archers targets, used by people testing there new weapon, or just people practicing their bows. These are kept up by the shop, in general repair, as a sort of practice range, for a cost. It is mainly made up of 3 or 4 of the common straw archers targets which are often replaced, but also includes a wooden post, and a straw person to simulate firing at a humanoid. They sell various things that can be used for hunting: snare's, traps, along with a basic toolkit for hunters, and some common weapons such as bows and arrows. They also purchase pelts and furs from hunters, and will skin kills for free, in exchange for keeping the pelt. They have a working deal with Kyole's Butcher Shop to send people their way with the remaining meat. They then prepare the pelts and furs on site, in large vats kept in the back, to turn them into leathers and hides. Some of that in turn, is sold to other businesses, which use it for various things such as for weapon hilts and furniture, while the rest of it is crafted on site into the goods they sell in their shop in town. Karlak
Karlak, the Akalak is the one that does most of the crafting and selling, since he is not much of a hunter. He failed his right of passage, and gained a bad leg injury, which made him little use in a hunt. But he took up his trade as a craftsmen, preparing pelts and hides, and making armor and other leather goods. When it comes to such things, there are few better, and he can often get lost in a discussion of the finer points of one of their items, or the best thing to use in a hunt. He has gathered a large amount of information on hunting, and knows most of what one would want to know, from a theoretical standpoint, though has not spent much time actually using this info in real hunts.

She supplements the pelts brought in by hunters, by ones of her own, and puts food on the table. She is also the crafter of bows and arrows, and on occasion has been known to take out a young Akalak on a teaching hunt, though for a cost. She considers her skill to great to give out for free, and to busy running a business and keeping the family afloat. Karril
Their son, Karril, is still young, but is a prodigy with a bow. He picked up a training bow his mother made when he was 4, and by the time he was 5, he was teaching adult Akalaks much older than his age how to use one. He passed his right of trial with flying colors, single handedly taking out a glassbeak from a hundred feet. However he tends to be a very quiet fellow, very introspective and not open to discussion. But while he has next to no social skills, his skills with a bow is unmatched, and he is often willing to show others how to use one, especially Akalaks. Just don't try to talk to him about anything else besides hunting or bows, or he will just give you a blank stare.
