Alvadas was frankly quite nice once your mind learned to adjust to the craziness. But after mastering that, she was looking for something new. But a good new. She guessed the word for it would be Inspiration? Blizzard turned her head as she passed a statue of which talked. And not in a very nice way. "Your long blonde hair, haven't you heard of a haircut?" With her head held high, the Kelvic passed the statue with a brief statement "Yes, fellow statue. Thank you."

Soon after that, she passed Alchemy Alchea which sparked a new idea in her head. Alchemy's not a very bad idea, actually. She shrugged her shoulders then opened the door to the shop, just going to browse. Inside she saw a messy haired woman who smiled at her. She gingerly smiled back "Just browsing, ma'am." Blizzard finished this with a nod. Looking around the shop, she saw a blonde haired man. Her eyebrows drew together, she stared at the ground then looked at the woman.

"I was actually wondering if you taught Alchemy? It seems pretty... interesting and I'd love to learn it." The woman shook her head "For a small fee, dear." This made Blizzard sigh "Could I be of service, or teach you a skill? I've got a few things up my sleeve." The woman shook her head "Sorry. Not sure those would help me." With a frustrated faked smile she nodded "Thanks for your time." Looking at the things around her she sighed. She needed to conserve her money if at all possible. She was below her comfort line.

Blitz walked out of the shop, fumbling with her dress. She shook her head I really need a job. Or a bondmate. I think that should be my top priority right now but alas, I guess there's a call for everything when it's the right time. There was something strange about the man inside the store but for some reason she didn't know why.

Summer 23, 512AV

Corpus was looking at some new alchemical stuff that just came in and was rather amused by the high priced items and shook his head. It didn't surprise him when he heard the shopkeep talking to the lady that just walked in abotut lessons coming at a cost. It was nothing new. The Nuit knew the shop had to make some money, couldn't have just everyone running around knowing magics.

Shaking his head to himself though he gathered his robes around him and scurried away "Good Day ma'am." He called out to the shopkeep before leaving the store.

Peculiar young lady, wanting to know arts older than she?

He sighed and ventured after her, "Ma'am. Ma'am. I couldn't help but over hear you asking for lessons, but are fairly low on funding for such course. I do know alchemy myself."

Hearing someone behind her, she turned around to see strange man she saw in the shop. So he know's Alchemy, eh? She gingerly smiled at the man "Yeah, I don't have much to spare. I still have to pay for my inn fee and eating expenses. If you'd be willing to teach, I know some carving, tracking, camouflage, and a little unarmed combat. Maybe we could trade skill knowledge?" She was unsure of how the man would take her offer, but she couldn't pay with mizas.

Blizzard rolled her shoulders back then looked at her feet. Only after a small pause did she look the man in the eyes "The name's Blizzard." Warily, she held out her hand for the man to shake. He smelt of... decaying flesh. A smell she'd encountered several times in the Northern Wastes which was exceptionally strange. Small smells like these, her strong senses allowed her to pick up on. She examined her nails all the while patiently waiting for his name or an answer. Something along those lines. Her critical face softened to a small childish like grin.

I hope you know what you're getting yourself into, Blitz. Let's not let this turn into you getting yourself killed. "So Alchemy, what's it like? And is there any possible way of me dying in it?" she chuckled slightly at the end, but it was meant to be taken a serious question. Her brain was starving to learn more things. Things she could teach her master once they met and bonded.

"Well Blizzard, my name is Corpus." He took her hand briefly. His felt dry, cold, and oddly like rigor-mortis had set into it long ago.

He bowed slightly after he removed his hand from hers. "Carving seems to be the only thing useful to me."

How beautifully warm. The nuit noted, it has been so very long sense he was truly a warm being. He straightened out and smiled to the young lady.

"Death is always possibily lady. Magic is a dangerous aspect people are meant to play with. It requires studious undestanding and knowledge. I am willing to teach you, but you must do as I say. Understand?"

Death sometimes is the only end to magic.

He studied her, And uncle's teach methods will not work for this one... Hmm.

Blizzard slightly grinned. What the-!?! The touch of his hand was chilling and despite her best efforts, it sent chills down her back which rarely happened. With a slight nod she answered him "Carving won't be a problem at all. I'm not the best, however, I'm simply not the worst." She had made some pretty cool figurines and pictures with her knife/claw at hand including the antler etching she'd done in the Northern Wastes.

"I won't do an extra thing nor skip a step. I fully understand since it is my life at stake. Carving can be dangerous as well but not quite to the extent as magic. Skip an important move or get an unexpected scare and you could lose a finger or cut yourself," the Kelvic explained "I don't think we'd want any accidents on my behalf or on yours." She wiped off her brow with her hand Something's exceptionally strange. But possibly in a good way?

"So how exactly do we begin this course?" She didn't know of a place that supported magic studies nor did she have a house that could be wrecked. Maybe this man knew a guy? Maybe it was something that could just be taught in the streets? Blizzard didn't know since she had never dabbled in the arts of magic and Alchemy. Please watch yourself, Blizzard. Her mother's words echoed in her ears from long ago. Her mind drew up in disgust at the mentioning of the word.

"The best. The Worst. Training is the key here." Corpus smiled and then nodded his way towards his home. "Follow me, I shall take you to my home for the time being. There you can rest and we shall discuss the beginnings of the art of alchemy while you teach me the beginnings of carving?"

With no answer he led the way through the roving streets, for they indeed move like the people of this fine city. It wasn't long that he moved past the graveyard and was soon on the street that he lived on.

Corpus was all the while thinking of how to teach the young lady in his wake the fine arts of Alchemy. Luckily for Corpus, and probably Blizzard, the breeze was blowing from behind so the stink of decay wasn't prominent on Corpus, the house though was a small shack that belonged on the condemned list, it was falling to pieces even with no one moving about in it. It was home though.

Lesson one... Hmm... Why not explain the basics Corpus, don't do what your uncle did to you.

"Sure thing." The breezes made Blizzard slightly smirk with the cool touch it brought with them. They neared a shack that she assumed was his home but she wasn't one to judge. She was living in an inn for Pete's sake and had lived outside in the snow. The thoughts of the ice and snow made Blizzard shiver all over again. On the inside she was smiling brightly, yet her face showed no expression besides the expressionless trace of the smirk.

It took all that to make the Kelvic realize that she maybe would learn Alchemy This will help my future master. This is all for myself and my future master. Blizzard was taking advantage of the city and it's citizen's to learn things that would benefit her and her master whomever that may be at the decided time. She looked at Corpus then grabbed her knife "Guess we shall begin with finding pieces of wood." Looking around at the very small portions of rubble still left over from the Djed Storm, she grabbed a long board Maybe... Not sure if it would work or if she was even doing it right, she put the board of wood on the ground, stepped on it with her boot, then pulled the other side up, breaking it in two "There we go."

Blizzard picked up the two pieces of wood then handed one to Corpus "I don't suppose using claws would help you, so I'll teach you with my knife. If I leave out a detail, please feel free to ask any questions you ever so please. I'd rather be safe and have a good piece than it be messed up from lack of knowledge." Pulling the knife out of her boot, she raised it up for examination. I wish I knew how to sharpen knives.

Corpus took the wood from Blizzard . Okay... Wood... Knife? All he had was his eatting knife, It will have to work.

He rummaged in his robe and pulled out his rather dingy old eatting knife that was rather dull and nicked.

"Thank you for the piece of wood." He held up his eatting knife and with a rather creepy smile said, "I am ready."

Remember, she is going to learn Alchemy. You must decide on how to start those lessons...

Corpus looked at the cground and then around. No ring, that was lost years ago. No materials, he was at a lost on that one currently... Maybe I can teach her the basics via the dirt here on the floor? Yeah, that will have to work... For now.

The man's creep smile didn't faze her at all. She simply yet politely smiled back in response "Alright, so what you want to do, is get a picture in your mind of what you want to create. Make that image as clear as possible. Picture the nicks, the dents, the bumps, the curves, all the shapes of that image. Picture every single detail you possibly can to the point you can almost reach out and grab it." Following her own advice, Blizzard closed her eyes, took a deep breath, then pictured what was on her mind.

Blizzard opened her eyes then smiled "Then carve. Take your knife and trace the overall shape of the image. Once you have the light nicks in it, go over it again with a lot more force. Use your other hand to hold it in place so you don't slip and cut yourself." The shape of her image was beginning to come out and anyone could see that it was a snowflake. She began to chip the shape even more, digging deeper at an angle to make it appear as if it we're popping out of the wood board.

Soon enough, she was chipping in the final details. If one would turn it side to side slowly it would seem as if were shimmering. She looked at Corpus to see his progress.

Corpus really didn't have any idea what to carve, but the practice was enough to learn. He paused with knife in hand and then started carving. For a while all it looked like the Nuit was doing was just shaving the wood down to a round disc.

After a little while longer he started in the middle of the disc, while Blizzard was carving out the finishing details he was nearly through the center of the disc, making a ring that was clearly going to be used for something as the Nuit paused and looked as if into thought.

What were those symbols uncle? Corpus was never taught them, or their meaning, all he had was a rough idea of what they looked like. So after several minutes of the out-to-lunch staring Corpus resumed carving along the outer portion of the ring. After that was done he relaxed for a minute, flexing his hand.

"I am feeling my age." Ciorpus flexed his hands some more before adding the finishing details to his ring, small round divets on the sitop side of the ring, at opposite sides.
