Basic information Name: Maximilian Walsh Race: Human Age: 18 Birthdate: Season of Winter, Day 35, 494 AV Character Description Max is pretty tall, measuring in at 6’2”, and weighing 180 lbs. He has a somewhat-muscular body, but makes up for his lack of sheer strength in his surprising level of agility, stealth, and skill with weapons. His eyes are one of his best features, as blue and mesmerizing as the Suvan Sea itself. Although mesmerizing and calm, when threatened his eyes become a glaring gaze that seems to pierce into the souls of people, which earned him the rumor of being an auristic. Max never quenched these rumors, as they made him more intimidating and less likely to be approached by people looking for a fight. He’s very calm, often bearing an extremely calm and serious expression on his face, at least when he’s not with close friends. Many perceive him as cold and distant, which is true in most cases. Although he’s had a life of hard labor and occasional fights, as well as several hunting accidents, Max has had the luck of never being physically disfigured. He does, however, bear some faded scars, testimony to his unsettling past. Although just like his past, the scars are healing with time. Character Concept Max is very fair when it comes to his judgement of people. He doesn’t care what race, creed, religion, or organization you belong to. If you respect him, he’ll respect you. Same goes if you’re violent, hostile, or otherwise “unfriendly” to him, he’ll return the favor without thinking twice about it. Even if you’re kind to him, however, Max tends to stay distant from people in fear of getting hurt. There’s only a few friends he can actually open up to, as they’ve earned his trust. Although he may seem peaceful from a distance, he loves fights, and would never back down from one, no matter how bleak the odds looked. Other than the occasional argument-turned-fight, Maximilian tries his best to stay out of the spotlight, preferring to remain hidden and anonymous in order to avoid drawing attention from the Syliran Knights. Currently he’s trying to get job as a hunter, to help feed himself and make a living. Character History Maximilian was born in Syliras, to a family cursed with poverty. His mother died in childbirth, and with her left the semi-stability that the household had before he was born. Pressed for money, his father turned to a life of crime, a life that was cruel, heartless, unforgiving, and dangerous. He taught Max how to steal as a child, setting his son up for a lifestyle that few would wish upon their children. When a woman felt a hand in her purse and turned around, all she would see is a 5 year old with sparkling blue eyes. This played in his advantage, making people less suspicious of him and more inclined to return about their daily business. It also made him grow up with the very few, if any morals at all. As he grew up, his father started becoming increasingly greedy, pulling off riskier and riskier heists to try and build a future for his son, to his own detriment. One day, his luck ran out. He was charged with armed robbery as well as crimes against Syliras, and was sentenced to death by the Council of Three. Suddenly alone, Max was a casualty of the system that prided itself on clockwork and efficiency. Forced to work at a young age, he grew up faster than any kid should have to. Some days he didn’t know why he kept going, but how could anybody blame him, losing both his parents before he even turned 13. The second he turned 18, he got himself an apartment in the cheapest area of Syliras, and taught himself how to hunt, to avoid ever having to go hungry again. He promised himself he would break the cycle of poverty, and prove everyone just how wrong they were about him. He will never, ever let himself fall as low as he did that day when he heard his father was executed. Lately he’s been able to re-integrate into society, slowly starting to trust people again, however he remains increasingly wary about the Syliran Knights. He adopted Taros, a red fox Kelvic who loves magic and mischief. Quite the pair, they both dream of a day when they can finally live without financial worries.
