He had been on his way into the cave, dragging along the bear, when he noticed a sound. Though he could not tell what it was exactly... He tasted at the air, and saw the warm bodies... Odd, for them to be laying there like that. But as he got closer, he saw another form slowly appearing, getting warmer and shifting, changing shape into that of a human...

To say the least, that was odd. Clearly it was some sort of shapeshifter. Perhaps like him. Who else but a Dhani, would be able to change form like that, and be cold blooded in there other form. He knew kelvics were not able to turn into snakes and reptiles. A fact he had learned long ago, and used frequently, in saying he was a snake kelvic. It was surprising how many fell for it.

But clearly, this person was as he. Or at least, a Dhani. Perhaps not exactly as he.

Dragging the bear along in his Dhani form, with its much greater strength, he released it far into the cave, away from the chilling snow outside, which was falling in ever heavier flurries.

"Room for one more?" Bones asked, speaking in his native snake-tongue, instead of common. After all, if she was a Dhani, she should speak his language.

Not waiting for an answer, he began the change back to his human form, and put back on his clothes. Getting a closer look, he tried to investigate the other person, but had not gotten a good look yet.

He dug around in his pack, for his tent, bedroll, and winter blanket, all of which would be helpful. The tent would held keep off the breeze, and hold in his heat, once shut. The bedroll would be a lot more comfortable than the hard cave floor. And the winter blanket... Well, that was pretty self explanatory.

Now clothed, he also got out his lamp, and using some flint lit the oil, giving them a bit of light.

"Would you like to share my tent? It will be a bit crowded, but better than nothing." Said also, in his native snake-tongue.
Bones is a Constrictor Dhani. He likes to eat meat. He also has some speech problems.

When he speaks, a double s (ss) means a [th] sound, that he cannot say.

A triple s (sss) means just an [s], but it is extended in his speech.

[Flashback]Snakes, Seduction, and Snowfall[Sseevrakressha]

Postby Kressha on July 29th, 2012, 2:55 am

Kressha stayed still under her cloak, arms tightening around the little furry creature as the body heat it had created was slowly starting to slip away now that it was dead. Her dark brown eyes kept watch of the male Dhani as he came into the cave then called out to her. She felt her brows raise a little. Was he asking for permission to share the cave? She mentally kicks herself a little. Of course he was, this was her cave. He might have killed the big beast, but she got to the cave first.

She didn't answer him though as she watched him shift his way back into his human form then get dressed. Getting dressed sounded like a good idea now, the warmth from the dying critters had distracted her but she could feel the goosebumps starting to travel up her legs again from the cold stone floor under her. Shifting uncomfortably on the ground, Kressha pushed herself to her feet to lessen her contact with the ground, the dead cub still tightly held to her chest.

Watching him pull out his supplies next, she bit her lower lip a little as she spotted the tent, bedroll and the heavy blanket. Oh how warm would she be protected under all those? She had her own tent and bedroll, but the blanket was thin, more suited for the warmer weather down south where she'd traveled from. His winter blanket made her think of it as some rare treasure.

She took a step closer to him as light flooded the cave as the lamp was lit. Not much new was revealed now that there was light. Her form was still fully concealed by the cloak except for her eyes, which she kept on him. Then she heard his offer to share his warmth and she let out a deep breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. Maybe she had misjudged the other Dhani too soon.

"I would be ever grateful if you allowed me to share, I don't take up much space." She cooed out in a soft voice, also in their native tongue. He had asked in that dialect, so was best she answer the same. "My supplies ran off with my horse..." She said, eyes shifting over to the mouth of the cave. She didn't figure Rahhale had went far, but she had no desire to go out and hunt for the mare right this moment. The horse was smart, once it started getting too cold for her, she would find her way to the cave, or well, Kressha hoped so at least.
Kressha is a Viper Dhani. She looks like a small weak human standing at 5'0" and is quite playful. Her speech is the only thing that hints really at what she is, but she is trying to learn to sound more human.

[Flashback]Snakes, Seduction, and Snowfall[Sseevrakressha]

Postby Ssafirsotibones on August 8th, 2012, 1:03 am

Bones noticed the odd way she clung to her kill. If she had been human, or if he was, he might have thought it was in an affectionate way. But such a silly thought did not even cross his mind. A warm corpse, was still good for heat, even if not as good as a fire and a dry blanket. One of which he had to offer.

As he lit the lamp, he got his first good look at her. The light filtering in from outside was getting more and more sparse, as the flurries falling blocked out most light. He could not really tell much of her. And besides the bad lighting, she was covering herself, only her eyes peeping out from the cloth.

Almost by habit now, he spoke in his snake tongue, and probably would for the rest of the time, since he was with another speaker of it. It was nice to speak in it. For one, he was more fluent in it, and speaking it came naturally to him, without a thought. He had mastered using it in his human form. Many younger dhani only fresh to there human form had not, as it was difficult to make certain sounds without a snakes mouth. But around 10 years ago, he had gotten it down pat. At least in this language, he could make himself clear, and did not come off distorted or slurred.

"It is not a big deal... Besides, an extra body, means extra warmth. It is in our mutual benefit to work together."

That said, by the light of the lamp, he set up his tent, and rolled out his bedroll inside, along with tossing open his blanket over it. He had made it clear it was in both of there best interest to not fight, as even if she was a Dhani, she might want to fight due to being of a different sub-race. But killing each other would get them no where, especially when they had other things to worry about.

"You can go in now if you want... I am going to get some meat for us to eat..."

Taking a glance at the woman Dhani, he went back to his pack, and dug around for his dagger, carefully taking it out, and going over to the bear he had killed. He sank it into its back flesh, right through the fur, starting near the base of the neck. Then pulling it downward along the beasts length, he carved a long slit down the bears back. Once that was done, he started back up near the top, and tried to insert the blade to cut off the layer of skin and fur, to separate it from the meat hidden underneath. He was not to skilled a skinner really, as he usually just ate stuff whole, but if he was to eat as a human, that fur would get in the way.

He slowly worked his way down the length, sliding along the dagger blade, trying to cut and skin the beast clean, working his way down the bear, and once reaching the end, starting back at the top more to the right so as to slowly work his way over. Though he ended up not doing to well. Some patches of the fur ended up with chunks of meat an inch thick clung to them, and others ended up so close that his dagger cut through the fur and came out, forcing him to start skinning anew from the new point. Usually he could get a few feet, before this would happen, and ended up with several smaller pelts, instead of one full one.

Now that he had most of the back skinned, he set the bits of pelt and its accompanying patches of meat stuck to it to the side, and looked at the bear meat underneath. Stabbing in his blade, he got a good hold, and cut a big square shape into the meat of the bear. Then cutting underneath, lifted the hunk of meat out, about a foot wide and long, and several inches thick. Walking over to the woman, he held it up to show it to her, and cut the meat in half, handing one part to her, before taking a big bloody bite out of his own.

The taste of fresh uncooked meat was delicious, as the blood ran down his chin. Nothing better than it. Since he was amongst similar company, there was no need to ruin it by seasoning it, or cooking it, or any other human nonsense, which just destroyed all flavor the meat naturally held.

If she had already gone inside the tent, he would join her in it, and close the tent flap, laying down along its length inside of it. It would be a little crowded with the both of them, a tight fit. They would likely be pressed right side by side.

Taking another bite out of the meat, he looked over at the Dhani, giving her a better look.

"I am Ssafirsotibones by the way. And you?"

[Flashback]Snakes, Seduction, and Snowfall[Sseevrakressha]

Postby Kressha on August 10th, 2012, 5:40 pm

Kressha turned her face away from the newly lit lamp as her eyes had grown accustom to the growing dark in the cave. Once her eyes readjusted to the added light, she went back to watching him. She hadn't expected the constrictor to be, well, so friendly. She knew from her time back at her nest in Ekytol that the different sub-races didn't exactly get along. Of course that was just what she heard, she'd never actually met a constrictor before. She knew that he could hurt her though, if he wanted to and that her only defense was if she stayed in her Dhani form. Shifting her eyes over to the blanket of snowfall that was now blocking the entrance to the cave, she shivered and clung to the bear cub more tightly. It was much too cold to be shifted now.

The mention of warmth brought her gaze back down to the man as he went about setting up the tent and laying out the bedroll and blanket inside. It wasn't a very large tent, a lot smaller than her own. If only Rahhale hadn't run off, they could have used her tent and had their own space. Then his comment about extra body meant extra warmth went through her head again and she pushed out the want of her larger tent. This would be better.

As he told her she could go inside while he got them some meat, she gave him a small nod and dropped the dead cub beside the opening of the tent, there wouldn't be enough room inside for it. Loosening her cloak from around her, she took a deep breath and uncovered herself only to quickly lay out the heavy cloak over the blanket already in the tent. The cold shot through her naked form and she let out a startled gasp as she started to shake. Her arms were shaking as she tried to flatten the cloak out over the blanket, giving them another layer to lay under, but gave up half way through making it look even. Kressha wasn't used to the cold and she didn't like it at all. Crawling under the blanket and cloak from the entrance of the tent, she buried herself under weight, shivering as his blanket was still a little chilled. She laid there, waiting for her small amount of body heat to warm the blankets around her as she heard the flesh from the bear outside the tent being cut by the blade.

By the time he came back to the tent with the cut off chunk of meat, Kressha had warmed the space between the covers and even sat up a little to take her half. "Ssanksss." She said, her teeth chattering making her single word a little more hard to under stand. She waited only long enough for him to take the first bite before she ate. The meat was still warm and she could see steam coming off it as the cold air hit it. Taking a large bite herself, she closed her eyes and groaned at the taste as blood dripped down her chin and down onto her chest. She was sooo hungry, it took everything she had not to try and stuff the whole thing down her mouth right then and there, but she knew her human form couldn't take in food like that.

As he crawled into the tent with her, she scooted over more to the side to give him some space, what little left there was. The tent would have been just right for him alone, him and his big size, but with her in there as well now, she was pretty much pressed flat up against him. She took another bite as her body registered the heat coming off him and she even scooted a little closer toward him. "Sseevrakressha." She shifted a little. "A sssilly little viper from sse sssouss where it is a lot warmer."

[Flashback]Snakes, Seduction, and Snowfall[Sseevrakressha]

Postby Ssafirsotibones on August 17th, 2012, 10:22 pm

If this other Dhani assumed Bones was all friendly, and liked her, well she was wrong. Of course, there were few people Bones actually liked, even amongst his own race, and subrace. Usually it was more likely for him to get along with other Dhani, over humans and other ilk, but he did not even get along with all Dhani. It was a case by case basis.

Though, that was also not to say he would attack her the moment he could, and try to kill her. While some Dhani were like that, and would kill another if they got the chance, Bones saw no point in that. He followed Caiyha, and only saw waste of life in that. He only killed when he had to, and when something was to be gained by it, a usefulness to the ending of the life. Like a hunter, killing for meat, he saw no problem if there was no waste. But since he had no plans to ever eat a fellow Dhani, then as long as she did not try to kill him, he would not try to kill her.

Of course, Bones was odd even for a Dhani, so perhaps that had something to do with how he acted around other sub-races. He judged them as higher than other beings, such as humans and such, and actually had a scale, on which he measured the relative worth of someone in his mind, by race, skill, and other things. Not that he had it written down, it was more of something in his mind, that he judged on sight.

Viper Dhani were actually second on his list, under Constrictor Dhani, but certainly better than a rattler, or a half blood Dhani. And far higher than humans, or most of the other races he had met, especially the ones he could not tell apart from humans.

Bones enjoyed his meat alongside the Dhani, crawling under the sheets to get warm, and closing the tent door so their body heat would not so easily escape, and hopefully it would get a bit warmer... He looked at her, and took another big bite out of the flesh, soon devouring the entire chunk of meat in short order.

He replied in Snake-Tongue, enjoying the conversation and for being able to use his native tongue, something he had not been able to do much in a long time.

"Sseevrakressha, nice to meet you. I am not from to far from there. Just a bit west, in the jungles, were it is also warmer, though also wetter. Though it seems both of us have decided for various reasons, to leave our nests."

"So what brings you and your horse out here? I was out hunting, though I usually stay in Alvadas. But you can't really find good meat, without getting it yourself..."

ooc :
Just to make it clear, the reason I am not adding the S's I normally do to my words, is that I am speaking in Snake-Tongue. I assume, though may be wrong, that in snake tongue, Dhani don't have a lisp or a speech problem, and are clear, since that language is all hisses and snake sounds. Easy for them. At least, once you are good at speaking it in human form, which is a bit harder obviously to do, so might still be a bit messed up, till you learn it well enough for that form.

If you come back, and want a grade, please PM. I looked over your CS and noticed you haven't taken off for seasonal wages -- you would need to do that before I could review the thread again.

Additional Notes: Seemed like this thread was heading somewhere interesting, too bad it never finished. Bones, from me, a Basic lore in regards to another PC is essentially noting that your PC will remember their appearance and has met the other PC at least once -- Bones (should Kressha come back, and you two thread) will be able to recognize Kressha and a very vague understanding of her personality.

If you have any questions regarding your grades, please, message me and I'll see what I can do.

Stay Golden!
