Odd things on the horizon (Umen'thia)

Drakn was amused by Tia she had quite the personality, he watched and listened to her. As she ate the fish raw though he could not imagine doing the same, but to each their own was how he looked at it. He after watching her try to feed the sea god and fater of both of them he laughed quietly and said, "Well at least you tried, it is the thought that counts."

Drakn decided that he would be brave and try raw fish. He however would gut, scale and remove the head; once he had done this he would try the fish. After making a funny face and choking it down he would say, "Well I had to try it but not for me I will just stick to cooking mine."

He sat down as asked and waited to hear her story, but it never came. They sat in silence for some time he thought to himself what a strange girl and then broke the silence, "That is some story there. Well you tried to feed him, now I will try a differnt way." Drakn stood and went to where me made his fires for cooking, he made a fire and took up some fish and then would toss the fish on the fire. The idea behind this was to make a burnt offering to the sea god. He then would sit back down in his spot and enjoy the company of Tia.

Odd things on the horizon (Umen'thia)

She could feel rage boiling up in bubbles within her. Stupid – stupid land-dweller! She was going to tell him a story, and he just wouldn’t wait for it! Or did he wait? Either way – he didn’t wait long enough! Stupid, impatient, clumsy – no, wait, that was her – leg person! No wonder why she disliked most of them so much. Muttering under her breath, she’d raise up her hands as if to chokehold nothing in particular, and her tentacles move up over her head to repeat the movement causing her to lose balance and fall back once more. It might’ve seemed to be a general omen of anger, but at that moment she thought of Drakn and how she’d like to strangle his sorry leg persona. Now whether the strangling would be literal of figurative was a decision for another time it would seem.

Falling back didn’t help her anger much. And when he started to ruin the fish… well that was just plain rude!

“Father isn’t a leg person!” she’d exclaim angrily as her body boiled. She wouldn’t’ explain this either. It was only natural to react in this way, of course. Drakn should know that. Then again he should’ve known you never mess with either her food or Laviku’s offering… especially not when they’re one and the same.

Odd things on the horizon (Umen'thia)

Drakn had noticed that he had upset her, though how he did not know. There was any number of things that could have set her off by his thiking. Maybe is was him eating the fish like she does, or had he not waited long enough? Then it could have been the way that he gave a burnt offering, but it was likely a combination of it all.

Drakn offered up some words in his defence, "Well he is a god, I think he could show himself in any form he wanted." He hoped that this would not further her anger and continued, "I am sorry if I upset you, I waited for you to tell the story. I should have waited longer. And if the way I sacrafice offended you well we each have a differnt way but is it for us to judge what is right? I think it is the thought behind it. Explain please, I know so little, and will it help if I throw fish into the sea as you did?" He hoped that she would understand that he did not mean to anger her and that he was being truthful in what he had said.

He looked at her and and wondered if she would explain and tell him what he had done wrong. Afterall he was only a leg person and a young one at that, he knew not what he had done nor did he. But he waited and hoped also for her to tell the story that he had so rudely cut her off from telling.

Why was she angry again?

Ah yes… he suggest father would eat leg food.

Well that was… disturbing… but he did apologize… so… they were good?

She was bored anyway!

“If you throw that crisp into the waves, I’ll make sure you follow it!” a sigh, then a quick turn to his other words “You don’t throw land-dwelling food at father! That’s like me chewing on your arm and calling it a favor… It probably wouldn’t even taste that well… or would it?” then she would bare her teeth and exclaim happily “Give it here!” hey, he might’ve been right after all. If she had ever taken a bit out of a land-dweller she couldn’t recall it. It was probably because they tasted so bad. Oh well – surely that was reason enough not to bite – for now.

“Damn right you didn’t wait enough!” she brought up her tentacle and waved at him to get him following on her already jumbled up thoughts. Well… jumbled up by her standards was plain weird for most legmen anyway.

“You apologized, but it’s not enough! Now you tell me a story! And make it a good one, or I’ll chase away all the fish around the boat!” sticking out her tongue at the man, she’d wait for his answer. She couldn’t stay for much longer, but boy, could she harass his sorry behind!
