Because heavy flooding has turned Manila into an Atlantis-like waterworld metropolitan, mer-creatures emerge! Behold the Dyeseballs!
Secret :
Dyeseballs are rare but beautiful Philippine Shoke (Mermush vaklush) and a subspecie of the the Philippine Shokoy. Dyeseballs are asexual, capable of reproducing on their own. They are seen as devious and dangerous, but they are also known as superb beauticians and comedians, owing to their natural predilection to creative arts.
Kammy: That is one of the all time coolest scrap posts I have yet to have! I knew nothing about the Filipino "mermaid" myths. Also, homie look good on that rock! What a great picture. The flooding is a bummer, but at least someone is keeping it posi. Thanks for that awesome post. It made my day when I saw it.
Dani, jolly good work. Much less terrifying than your last "mermaid" contribution. I was scarred for life. LIFE.
Wren, what a nice sentiment. Thank you, kindly.
Also, Seven, it's like looking into Doctor Phil's eyes. There's no coming back from that.

Thanks for keeping my scrap a positive, funny place, everyone. It's like that joke my Dad always tells me:
Badger Dad: "Bina?" (okay he doesn't really call me that, but close enough)
(Likely Frustrated) Bina: "Yeah, Dad?"
Badger Dad: "You know why angels can fly?"
(Still frustrated and foreseeing the punchline) Bina: "They are spiritual creatures who have EFFING WINGS?!"
Badger Dad (unphased by frustrated Bina): "Nope. Because they take themselves lightly."

You have struck gold yet again, Laz. I put the shark one on FB I liked it so much.
Also, I don't know if more than four people read this scrap, lol, but I want to say to my Eyktol players that I have been doing some behind the scenes stuff that kinda drains creativity. And various other RL things kinda put a damper on it. BUT I am hoping to get churning on fun posts this weekend. I'm going to ignore some technical things for a little and be more of a storyteller, with like... stories... and stuff.

Apologies to everyone I'm threading with, but it's like the Danaides for me right now. ==/== "If it doesn't solve all your problems, maybe you're not using enough of it." - Violence
So my astute observational skills and a horde of little birdies suggest to me that you might, might, have the smallest, teensiest thing for mermaids and when I was off in Edinburgh last week I ascended the Walter Scott Monument on Princes Street:
Pao, my Cali Pali! That is so pretty! I don't think it's dumb at all I'm going to bask in it a second before I say anything else...
I love her outfit, it's like a celestial priestess, and her hair is fabulous. Like a Disney princess's. The dual horns look cool too! I'm pleased as punch. Thank you for a lovely depiction. I really appreciate the time and creativity you put into her. I am envious of your talent.
Minor wishes, if possible: rounded ears and add jewelry to horns or other "foofy" details. I wouldn't normally be so picky, but I want to make it a lore pic for the book we're hopefully printing.
