OOC: Training Reimancy, Glyphing, Shielding, Observation, Intelligence, Sword
His hands weaved in and out slowly as he muttered a familiar incantation, something he had learned a few years back when he was learning Shielding. He was in a remote area where he could practice in silence not far the city, just very close to it. He was weaving a particular shield to that covered the better part of a large tree in the middle above the trunk. Alduin took his time since there was no urgency in creating the medium sized shield for the purposes that he wanted. They were strong, his wards were adequate enough.
He moved his arms to his side being careful to try and work on limiting the amount of Djed used when releasing his Res. He was competent with it and was no longer afraid to use minor spells within Reimancy. A fireball erupted in his hands as he had performed many times before, another one conjured in his other hand.
He slung one at his shield, felt the Djed around it dent but dissipate as the shield made took the Djed from the spell and added it to its own sturdiness, his ward being strong but his fireball being strong as well. The task that Alduin had set to the shield was to absorb Djed which it did well.
Alduin slung another one at the same spot. It held just as he anticipated. Pleased he began to concentrate, what he was planning to do was a little bit more complicated. He decided to let the Res form into a somewhat thin form, and then he combined the elements that he knew already which was air and fire, into a much more complicated form.
Lightning began to cascade slowly from his palms as he mustered just the right amount of Res so that it would not be hazardous, he transmuted the thinner parts of it into lightning and set for a lightning bolt that hit the ward much faster then the fire ball did. It broke through this time, and the shield shattered, but the tree stood unmarked. His shielding was progressing as he had wanted it too.
Now he had to try something with something he was not adequately perfect with. He had learned earlier the basics that come with learning the Glyphing. He knew how to draw some runes, only a few at that. Alduin was planning on actually putting one to use. He knelt to the ground and put much concentration into drawing a Focus Glyph on his right hand, it took the better part of ten minutes before Alduin was sure that he had gotten every nook and cranny in the glyph correct on his right hand. Then he proceeded to do the same on his left.
With the left hand he took even more greater care to make sure that they Focus glyphs were drawn correctly. He observed his handy work, and decided to put them to the test. He conjured a small fireball with his right hand. There wasn't a huge difference but it was easier for the ball to come to his hand, it took quite a lot less effort, and it was instant. He sent the fireball to the ground where it singed and smoke immediately sprang forth. Well worth it.
With his robes was his sword, an heirloom, worth a decent amount. But a sword not from his father but from his mother, who had given it to his elder brother, but when they had died, he taken it for himself, seeing as he was the last of his kin. As he you usually did while practicing his swordsmanship, he imagined a foe, which was usually his brother with whom he dueled on numerous occasions.
Alduin took a deep breath and stood in his battle stance. Then he suddenly broke out into a charge, straight at his imaginary brother. The battle ready for braced himself for attack as anyone would.
With marveling speed that left the Wizard shocked, Fanris swung his blade, which connected with the blade, causing sparks to shower at their faces. Fanris's speed stopped Alduin from even attempting to counter-attack. He knew that and began to formulate a plan while blocking the savage attacks that Fanris threw at him.
Fanris was obviously superior in this fighting style. While has strength had matched his younger brother, his press kept his opponent from really doing anything. It was almost a flawless battle style. Alduin did a somersault backwards avoiding a deadly blow, and then coming in swinging stance. He feinted for the head, and then swung down and across her body, hoping to clip his shoulder or knee-but missed entirely. He repeated these maneuvers for over a long period of time, releasing a Fireball here and there at the tree to pick both uses of the his attack abilities.
After 2 hours of non-stop training. Alduin sat down and recovered his breath. This was enough for today, tomorrow he would resume as usual. Or maybe he should add more skills to his arsenal.
