The Kingdom of Sultros is made up of five cities; Sultros, Vizerian, Coglias, Terras and Pitrius along with their own Citadels. In addition, the Kingdom encompasses hundreds of square miles of mountainous, nearly inhospitable land. Trading posts, border posts and a number of unique, exotic and often dangerous sites exist both above ground and below.

Arriving at the Pitrius City Citadel with him family, Vinrir let his eyes scan the walls, watching the towers of the Citadel reaching into the sky, dark stone contrasting with the blue sky behind them. The Citadel was, undoubtedly, a beautiful design as were all Isur creations in Vinrir’s opinion, but it seemed to hold a darker undertone to it, a promise of something not yet seen. Slowly the sunlight and sky vanish from view as him and his family rolled into the citadel proper. His father was here to work on a couple carvings being placed into various buildings. It was a good moment for his father to gain some more experience and he had brought Vinrir along after a long talk and debate on how important it was. Vinrir needed to know about the other clans as much as possible if he were to become as important as he wanted to be, and that meant in part, traveling to the other Citadels.

He followed his parents through the halls of the Citadel, idly listening to their discussions about his father’s job as well as other things that had to be taken care of back home. His eyes took in the details of everything they passed, seeing several carvings on various doorways that depicted the standard Isur life of crafting in all of the various forms, but as well as magic in all of the various forms that were taught by the Silver Tower. He did not understand what any of the carvings represented, but he was intrigued by them and by the world of magic he did not understand.

Time passed as they wound his family and he wound their way, with their guide, to where his father would be working. His father pulled out the tools he would need as their guide left, his mother standing by and talking with his father still. Vinrir watched for shy of three-quarters a bell before he slowly stepped away, deciding to wander on his own. He was curious and knew he would learn nothing by watching his father and listening to his mother. If he wanted to learn, he had to do it on his own this time.

He headed off down the hall where they came from, but starting making other turns than what would lead him back out. His natural sense of direction was leading him deeper underground, deeper under the Citadel. He knew this would get him in trouble potentially, with his parents and Clan Pitrius, but he was okay with that. Though, if he could avoid it, he would. As such was the case several times he had to backtrack or run ahead to avoid being spotted by a Pitrius Isur walking their halls.

It was this most recent event that caused the most excitement. Vinrir was about to turn left down a corridor when he heard several deep voices growing louder. Turning to the right, Vinrir started moving quicker, taking random turns that ushered him further along and deeper down into the mountain until he no longer heard the voices. Now travelling a new path, the Sultros Isur carried himself along, staying in the middle of the path and away from the walls. He was not sure where he was going, trusting to his Isur sense of direction to carry him further.

Vinrir could hear the bells tolling the top of the hour, telling him it was now ten in the morning. He made note of this to try and make it back before the eleventh hour.

This thought was lost as he turned another corner and came to an area completely different than anything he had seen thus far. A large open area was before him, dominated by a tower in the middle. Walking closer a few yards, Vinrir could see it was indeed made of what looked like Silver, rising up high above his head. The building was beautiful, drawing the eye easily to its base and up its length. The building was circled by a couple dozen shards of silver spaced out roughly the distance of four Isurs’ height. Each shard was decorated in several glyphs, undoubtedly magical and dangerous to those not understanding. Vinrir stay where he was, looking at the Tower in awe. He had heard about this place briefly and had wanted to see it, to maybe even study inside of it, but he was hesitant to approach it closer for fear of any number of horrible results that could happen to him for nearing the magical glyphs he did not understand.

[Flashback-Pitrius Citadel] Of Fire and Silver [Merinil]

Postby Merinil on August 13th, 2012, 4:18 am

She'd been trying to braid her hair, but the stubborn black locks didn't want to be confined. The little silver hand-mirror she'd taken from her mother's room couldn't show her futile attempts at putting her hair up, and the stupid thing had refused to break when she threw it on the ground.

Damned Izentor.

Father always said that mother disliked her so because of Uluth. That she wanted a Pitrius child, and the first hints of yellow seemed to be a curse to the family for not creating and praying in Izurdin's name enough. It would seem that was the opposite, because Uluth was almost a gift from the god. But mother didn't want her blood to have been poisoned with Uluth blood. She'd already promised father that the damned Uluth daughter of her's wouldn't marry a Pitrius and dilute the bloodline even further. It was enough that she be allowed to live with them.

The mirror hit the wall again and landed on the floor with a clatter. The tiniest of cracks spider-webbed its way along the side, barely making a difference.

She'd been about to throw it again when the Sultros isur ran past, surprising her and making the mirror drop. It shattered out of its shiny, white gold frame. Merinil looked down at the mess, and her fragmented reflection. Then, she ran after the intruder.

He was at the Silver Tower, staring at it in awe. He certainly wasn't a Sentinel. She doubted he knew magic, or even could name all of the known magical disciplines like many Pitrius could. He was a Gods-damned Sultros. One of the noble blood, blood of Izurdin. She was closer to Izurdin than he'd ever be, no matter his garnet arm. She stood there, yellow-jade hand on her hip and gaze staring pointedly at the Sultros.

"You shouldn't be here."

[Flashback-Pitrius Citadel] Of Fire and Silver [Merinil]

Postby Vinrir Stoneheart Sultros on August 13th, 2012, 1:57 pm

Vinrir was lost in thought an unaware of the newcomer to his admiration of the Tower and was appropriately startled when her voice reached his ears, quiet but firm, "You shouldn't be here."

He jumped and turned, expecting to see a Pitrius Isur standing there, much older than him. He could not imagine the look on his face when he turned to see a woman standing there that was around his age, give or take a few years, and most certainly was not a Pitrius Isur. Her right arm, instead of being black, was a beautiful shade of yellow, a color rarely seen and one marking as an Isur of the lost clan Uluth. He had been taught about the lost clans as a young Isur barely able to walk, and had always wanted to see them returned, to see the Council of Ten fully restored. Now here, before him tucked away inside Pitrius Citadel, was an Uluth Isur. Surely this must be a sign from Izurdin that Vinrir's desires to see the lost clans back is a valid dream and one that can he can be a part of.

All these thoughts passed in a moment of a couple seconds before he regained his composure. He had not real argument with her words, but he was not going to admit to them either. "I was just looking around. Are you born into Clan Pitrius? Or were you born into another Clan and are studying here?" his head nodded back to the Silver Tower behind him. As he waited an answer, he looked her over the rest of the way, her body toned and in excellent shape as were most Isur.

After her answer, he pushed on with his speaking, knowing the topic of his intrusion here would undoubtedly come up again, "Are you going to call someone to get me dragged out? Or escort me out? How about talking with me? I wont taint the Tower with my mere presence here. Just a curious Isur looking around at what he does not know and is curious about." He waited her reply, watching her face to see what he could read in it.

As a last effort to try and make friends, or at least make nice, he introduced himself, "I am Vinrir Sultros," he started to extend his left hand as was common among his male friends since their left arms were the colored arms, but remembered this was a female with a right arm colored, as well as one of Uluth Clan. He would not openly voice excitement over this and the possibility of what it meant to him. Bringing his left arm back, he extended his right arm out to clasp her forearm should she return the gesture, seeking to meet her on her ground, and to avoid the repercussions she could bring down on him with whatever magic she might know as well as whoever she could summon to have him removed.

She didn't answer him. She stood there, glaring and annoyed at the Sultros in front of her. He could go be curious somewhere else, for all she cared. In fact, she did care. She cared that he was here, in her city, running around and causing problems. Damned Sultros.

She didn't answer his first question, instead walking up to him in careful, measured steps, until her face was mere inches from his. They stood at nearly the same height, give or take a few inches. She could see the sweat beaded on his brow from running so hard, and she finally answered his second set of questions.

"I will escort your damned arse out of my citadel, and you will willingly follow." She turned around and started to walk out of the cavern housing the Silver Tower, before stopping. Merinil glanced behind at Vinrir.

"You," She paused. "May call me Jade."

Vinrir just looked at the Uluth Isur as she invaded his personal space in silence. He would not back down nor would he let her think she had the upper hand here. He stepped forward the last few inches until there was but a parchments breadth of space between them, his eyes locked onto hers. At length, she spoke, commanding him to follow in a round-about way. Lost Clan or not, he had no proof she was Pitrius born and was not about to listen to a whelp that was his age or younger. On top of that, for her to presume he would just listen and follow her walking away was an affront to his nature.

He watched her walk away from him, stop and turn back, giving him a name sh could call him by. He guessed by emphasized 'you' that it was not her true name. He waited as she stood there, his eyes watching her silently and weighing his options. He spoke after a few handful of moments, "I think I will stay for a bit. You have not given me reason to believe you are born into Clan Pitrius, thus giving you no authority on matters such as the Silver Tower. However, we could wrestle to settle this. No weapons or magic, just wrestling. Unless you feel you cannot best of the Blood of Izurdin, then we can continue our banter until you see fit to leave me alone, befriend me or prove I should in any way listen to your...request...to follow you out willingly."

With those words, he stretched his arms, ready to meet her in a wrestling match should she accept. Should she back down and not meet him, he would continue his banter otherwise, maybe trying to befriend her to some degree.

He was acting like a brat. A Sultros brat, nobles of the kingdom. And here she was, a damned Uluth, without her own citadel or even Trazen day. She barely had family; everyone was kept at a chilly distance because they were different. But she, she had her fill of the lack of authority everyone and their Drakori associated her with. Mother thought she was weak, father thought she was inept and this, this Sultros was infuriating, and he was barely doing anything wrong. But...

Patience. She had to have patience. Strength, industry and patience were what Izurdin stood for. And Blood of Izurdin? He could go to hell for all she cared about his Izurdin blood. Dammit, she was closer to Izurdin than he'd ever be, even if he were born into Sultros and raised by the Vizerians, she'd be closer.

She turned around, and walked back to him. What was his name? Vinrir? Nah, she didn't have to use his name.

"Alright, sweet cheeks. Let's wrestle."

Vinrir was surprised, and rather pleased, when she had turned around and walked back to him, a change in her demeanor, whether it was added attitude or a determination to set a foundation for herself against him, he welcomed it. Fire and attitude were desirable traits, in friends or lovers.

She looked at him squarely, her deep brown eyes resolute in her attitude and frustration with him. Holding her gaze, he left his left arm hang at his side, his body slightly tense. His left arm would clash with right, which was normal, but not in the case of both arms being blessed arms. He always wrestled with males and never had to contend with fighting with a female who's arm would match his thus.

He could not resist responding to her words. He was a smart-ass, often getting him in trouble, and this was no different.
"I am glad you find me to your liking, Uluth. Thought "sweet" has never been used to describe me before." With that he stepped back, facing her as he placed roughly an Isur's height of distance between them, crouching his body of slightly his arms raised into a ready position.

As she would get ready as well, Vinrir would start circling slowly, the part of him that weighs his opponent in every situation, taking over instinctively. Here would be no words of any kind. If were could help or solve a situation, wrestling would not be needed, so why speak now?

"Whatever mines your silver, sweetheart, but don't feel so special." Okay, she didn't want to wrestle at all. She was godawful at it, and she didn't want this damned Sultros to know. Especially someone she'd never met before.

She just turned around and held her face in her hands as the Sultros was doing whatever it was he was doing. She shook her head and didn't look back at Vinrir.

"I am not doing this right now." Maybe she was just tired, but she sat down on the cave floor. It was definitely a change of pace from how she was acting earlier. She was just too tired, too annoyed, and too emotionally charged up, and doing anything else would push her past her breaking point. She still didn't look up at the other isur.

"Can you just...leave? Please? I'm too tired right now."

Vinrir was ready to go, his body tensed almost to the way he had been taught, ready to strike but loose enough to react quickly should she attack first,

No attack came though. She turned around and covered her face, her body going to the flow to sit on the cold stone floor, her back facing him. It was in confusion he did not move, not sure if she were trying to trick he as he expected of a Pitrius Isur or if something else was happening. For two deep breaths, Vinrir waited before relaxing his body slightly, coming down into a crouching positon on his calves.
"You want me to leave? Is this a trick of some sort or do you need a healer?" It was with caution and suspicion these words were spoken. He was still half expecting an attack from her but at the same time concerned something might seriously be wrong.

He was conflicted on how to act, so for now he maintained his distance.
"Jade, I am not leaving until I know you are what is wrong or you fight me. Now tell me what is going on." At these words, the Sultros Isur moved and closed half the distance to her, keeping enough space to be able to roll back should she suddenly turn and attack. Though, if she used magic he would be in a world of trouble down here alone.

She pulled her hair from the messy and probably horrible looking braid she had it in. Hair fell around her face, long and black.

"I belong here about as much as you do. See my arm? That's not black, and dammit, I shouldn't have to be the one to make you leave." She stood up, turned around and faced the Sultros. Ran a hand through her hair to push it out of her face, and she realized for the first time that she wasn't wearing any shoes. Just bare feet against the cold stone floor.

"Why are you here, anyways? Having an affair with a Pitrius chick and didn't want her daddy to catch ya sleeping with his daughter?

OOCMerinil looks (and technically is) the equivalent of a very bitchy 13 year old girl.
