The Two stood in the middle of the Antonious Battlegrounds, Andre coming to learn the art of Shielding, and Victor having been suggested to teach it. The Older Knight wore a full set of heavy Syliran Armor, decked in the equipment from head to toe, and bearing a sword at his sword, while Andre wore the lighter armor of the Mage's Regiment. Though Andre knew Reimancy, and glyphing, he needed a third art, a better spell type for his back up to his elemental slinging. That is where Victor came in. He was a highly skilled Shielder, who would later aid in the defense against Djed Storms. But today, he was teaching the Reimancer the power to shield.
Victor turned to Andre, his accent slightly visible, since he was a Man of Zeltiva, honorable as any Andre had met. "Shielding is purely defensive, Andresciel. It has no true offensive abilities. But it can be made to stop incoming weapons, or spells. As long as the shielder is skilled enough that is." With that Victor closed his eyes, calling on the djed within him, focusing his will out, and holding his hand forward. A Shimmering veil arose from the ground before the Knight, wrapping around his arm like a second skin. "The barrier must be wrapped around something for it to be effective. Like my arm, or your gauntlet. To do this, you must focus."
Andre only nodded, standing up to focus his Djed. He felt like it was like Reimancy, push the Djed out of him, focusing it into a barrier to stop oncoming attacks, wrapping it around his right gauntlet. It was weak, barely shimmering, and would do little more then provide an temporary respite from an oncoming attack. His prior experiences with magic manipulation allowed him to grasp the concept, which is the reason of his quick learning of shielding. His eyes closing, he began to dispel the shield, letting it fall from his arm.
Victor nods, watching the young man catch onto the art, but still, there was much to learn. "A Shield can be set to a certain task, such as keeping people out, or in, as the case may be. You will have to grow as a Shielder before you can do such a thing. Now, try shielding a Miza." He flipped a coin into the air to Andre, who caught it with a fumble.
Once more, Andre's eyes closed, focusing upon the creation, his brows furrowing. He wrapped his djed around the gold miza, causing the shield to solidify, and shimmer across the surface in a sky blue color, like Andre always thought his res would appear. It was a strange thing, to be able to create a defense for one who had always been able to sling fireballs. But Andre grasped the the concept, understanding the power of magic, but still, as with any magic, it would take practice to get the full use of it. Practice that Andre would put to full use, as it would become his secondary magic skill for the Knights themselves.
