Nanaria "Nan" Monocoa Physical Description Name : Nanaria "Nan" Monocoa Race : Kelvic, Spinner Dolphin Age: 1 (Human: Appears 18) Birthday : Day 42, Spring, 511 AV Height : 5'1" Human Form | 4'9" Animal Form Weight : 130 lb. Human Form | 115 lb. Animal Form Languages : Fluent in Common (Fluent), Versed in Fratava (Basic), Knows Smatterings of Char (Poor) Nanaria, who prefers to be called Nan, stands slightly over five feet tall when in her human form. She has stomach-length black hair with shorter bangs covering her forehead, which she works to maintain an even length. Her eyes remain a slightly dull black, evidence of her dolphin side, but that's largely the extend of non-human features that she retains when being human. Except, of course, for her skin, which feels slightly rubbery to the touch, and beads moisture more readily than normal human skin would. She has a lithe build, but a somewhat hourglass shaped body, her bust and derriere pronouncing her femininity quite soundly. In her dolphin form, she is slightly smaller than her human form, though more toned. Her height is converted to length, and she lays at just under five feet. Her weight is also mostly brawn, her powerful tail muscles allowing her to swim up to twenty knots (23 MPH), though this quickly tires her. She can maintain ten knots (11.5 MPH) much easier, and for a longer amount of time. Her back is a blueish-grey, while her underbelly is off-white. Character Concept Appearance Nan fancies herself to be a colorful creature, and she loves brilliant hues. Although dyes are expensive, she owns one such outfit, a pink blouse with a patterned cloth belt and form-fitting white shorts. When it gets cold she usually wears trousers, and a heavy dark-blue cloak. Though she would prefer more, this is all the flashiness she can really afford in her current situation. Personality Nanaria is an extremely happy-go-lucky person. With very little concept of 'work,' she tries to get the most out of her days, having new experiences, meeting new people, and the like. Oddly enough, she doesn't consider shipwrighting to be labor. She grew up with a shipwright, and he taught her his trade as he went about it. The way he chiseled out the curves in the wood, the way he made those calculations to make sure each piece fit exactly as it needed to, that looked like fun! Flaws Nanaria can be somewhat of a ditz at times, running from one thing to the other. In fact, the only place she seems to be able to focus is in the workstation, with a chisel in one hand and a hammer in the other. On top of being somewhat air-headed, Nan is fairly innocent and naive when it comes to other people. She could never really expect someone to hurt her, though truth be told the opportunity hasn't really come up. Ethics Like many kelvics, Nan has a hard time really distinguishing between right and wrong except from what her father figure has taught her. She's always looking for a good time, be it running through the streets laughing like a child, or swimming through the waves, doing tricks in the water. Quick to forgive and quicker to laugh, Nan just wants to love and to be loved. Religion As with most kelvics, but particularly due to her inability to really focus, Nan has very little interest in religion. The gods make the world spin round, and that's all she really cares to know. She has a certain respect for Laviku, whose realm she often frolics in. Character History Nan was born to a Beaver father and a Possum mother, both obviously kelvics themselves. They left her with a shipwright in the docks of Syliras by the name of Horus Monocoa. He was a kindly man, getting on in years, and had no family of his own, which caused him to take Nan on as a daughter of sorts. He refused to bond her, though; he loved her as a daughter and felt like bonding would make the relationship too intimate. He refused her bond when she first attempted, at eight months, and although she was bitter she grew over it quickly, and his status as a father figure grew more solid in her eyes. From him she learned the tricks of their trade, shipwrighting. Although most kelvics did not have a knack for numbers, perhaps because of how intelligent dolphins were, she found she was able to grasp their purpose and meaning easily when she was taught them. Using both mathematics and eyesight, Nan quickly began to enjoy helping Horus design and build his ships. The man was aging, however, and as much as he wanted to leave his business to her, he could not. It was eventually sold to someone else after he passed away, and although she loved him she could not dwell on his death for too long. It was not her nature. And besides, she had work to do; she was alone in the city now, and she needed to find someone she could be with. For now, though, she was content to play in the docks and in the ocean. The rest of this looks fine! Let me know when this has been fixed (either through getting a Shipwright Kit added to the Price list or changing this to a Woodcarver or Crafter's kit instead), and I'll remove this post!
